The rest of the car ride was spent in silence as no one chose to say anything.

The two finally reached Book City and entered the large building.

Suddenly a gray-haired old man with reading glasses said in a friendly voice.

The old Zhao only pointed at an old woman in a wheelchair at the end of the bookshelf.

Yang Chen did not respond as he simply watched Old Zhao return to his wife and start reading to her.

Ruoxi daydreamed as she continued to stare at the old couple.

"Ruoxi?" Yang Chen suddenly called out to Ruoxi.

"Hmm?" Ruoxi replied, as she still continued to look at Old Zhao and his wife.

"Are you still looking for more books?" Yang Chen asked.

Ruoxi then looked at Yang Chen and said in a gentle tone. "You should go to the cashier and wait while I get two more books."

Yang Chen nodded and picked up the book basket and headed downstairs to the cashier.

When Yang Chen was downstairs, he did not need to wait for long, as Ruoxi was already heading towards him while holding the two books tightly as if she was trying to hide them.

Ruoxi paid for her books and the two of them returned to the car.

While Yang Chen was loading the books in the trunk, Ruoxi looked at Yang Chen's back and thought as she placed her hands on his chest. 'Why does it hurt, when I see Yang Chen looking so sad?'
