Trapped Enchantment Thugs Insaf
49. Steal

Only a few days after Akhmar left home, he had difficulty eating.  What about a month?  It clearly has no income.  Stay in cheap, shabby and smelly boarding houses.  He also needs money for snacks, cigarettes, pay for school books, and motor gasoline.

Akhmar is like a confused man alone.  He stopped the bike on the side of the road, reached into his pants pocket and found nothing there.   His eyes were on a nearby restaurant.  Stomach rumbling.

Akhmar headed to a counter and intended to sell his phone and exchange it for a cheap phone.  At least the price of an expensive phone like he has it will be able to make him survive for the next month.  But his intentions were clouded when his gaze found something.  He immediately went on his bike leaving the counter.

In an alley, Akhmar conducts a sale and purchase transaction with Jampang.  Yes, Akhmar sells sophisticated phones at a relatively cheap price to then be sold again by Jampang.  But it was not his cell phone, but a phone belonging to the man who was buying a pulse at the counter he stopped by.  His hands so lightly took the phone in the back pocket of the man without leaving any suspicion.

Akhmar used the money from selling e-cigarettes to buy packaged rice and cigarettes.  It was his first time stealing.  And that makes him dependent.  Until when he took an afternoon walk looking for packaged rice, he saw a man with a petite appearance get off the car to the minimarket.  The man stopped when he picked up the phone.

Akhmar was interested in staring at the thick wallet of the man who looked tempting, the wallet two centi past the lips of the back pants pocket.

Akhmar approached the man while putting his jacket hat to his head, then pulled the purse after flailing around to make sure it was safe.

“Copet!  Copet!”

Damnit damnit!

Akhmar forgot that the man's pants were tight until the movement of the wallet he pulled was quite felt on the man's butt.

Akhmar fled, avoiding the petty man who was chasing him while continuing to shout at the copet.  Akhmar felt his life would completely run out in the hands of the citizens.  Everyone he crossed, turned his head and finally came chasing.

Up ahead, a few people swarmed and came closer to Akhmar.

Damnit damnit!  Akhmar.  He spread his gaze looking for a gap to escape.

He'll be months if this is the case.

Suddenly a car stopped right by his side, no other familiar car in his eyes.

“Quick!” the edict of Aldan sitting at the wheel signaled to Akhmar.

Immediately Akhmar grabbed the car door handle and snuck in nimbly.

The speeding car turned right at the intersection of the road ahead.

“What have you done?  They yell at you for the thief.  What did you miss?”  Aldan spoke softly even though the look on his face showed frustration.

Akhmar rolled his eyes.  Calmly he said, “I need to connect life.”

“Yes Allah, Akhmar.  You know not stealing someone else's property is one big sin.  You have taken the property of others that is not yours.  That is a real injustice.  God's punishment for stealing is his hand cut off.”  This is typical of Aldan, who often gives tausiah every time Akhmar makes a mistake.  Almost all cases always lead to the release of arguments.

Akhmar did not reply to Aldan's words.

“We are prohibited from eating the treasures of some others in a way that is shady, this is the law set by Allah,” Aldan added.

“Not stealing to eliminate hunger and not done continuously it's okay?”

“Mar, you left home, leaving behind a treasure you had on purpose.  There is no reason to say that you are hungry.  You have treasure, Mar.”

Akhmar chose silence.  Let her brother speak at length.  If you are tired, you will be silent yourself.

“People who eat unclean food, then their religious awareness will be narrow.  And the danger, the treasure-eater will not be accepted and rejected his prayers.  Take a good note, a person who eats illicit property is the same as damaging and destroying himself, ruining his worship, playing his prayers and destroying his descendants later.”  Aldan hoped his sister's heart would be touched so that the word repentance came down every time he lectured her.

The car stopped in front of Akhmar's rented house.  Makes Akhmar frowning in wonder, wondering why Aldan could find out his contract address.

“How did Mas Aldan know my contract?” ask Akhmar.

“I'm quiet always watching you.”

That answer touched Akhmar's heart.  Tubi-tubi, Aldan often pay attention to him.  Never even angry though as severe as Akhmar's behavior so far.

“I'm down.”  Akhmar went down the car, walking with wide strides towards the rented house whose yard was a bit dirty because of the food waste that was thrown away by Akhmar.
