Chapter 3 The Arrival of Secretary Rey

 ‘’A-Dad?’’ cordelia's face was uncomfortable.

‘’Cordelia, did something happen? Why did your brother pull your hand off and just walk away?’’

‘’I hesitate to want to say this, afraid Dad will be very hurt and angry big.’’

Hearing Cordelia's words made Percy's forehead wrinkle.

‘’What do you mean? Did something happen to Eve?’’ tanyanya's worried.

‘’Dad so worried. Ck. Sister at the restaurant earlier in—‘’

Not yet had his words finished, he saw his mother who coded him with her head shaking. His forehead is cluttered not understanding.

Seeing the two children and his wife looking at each other made Mr. Percy look at them.

Ms. Christa came back the way she was when her husband turned to her. Her husband turned back to their daughter.

‘’Cordelia, what did you want to say? What happened to Eve at the restaurant?’’

Cordelia frowned at the sign of annoyance. He did not understand why his mother prevented him from telling her what had happened to his sister.

‘’Cordelia! I'm asking you!’’ mr. Percy reiterated his words.

‘’Ah, that, brother was ordering food for all of us. When he got to the car, the food was stolen. We are going back to the restaurant but the restaurant is closed. So I'm afraid Dad will get hurt and angry big.’’

Mr. Percy sighed. ‘’Haa, why should I be hurt and angry so much? The food was stolen accidentally. Never mind, it's okay.’’

Miss Christa breathed a sigh of relief. However, she was confused when she saw her husband standing up.

‘’My husband? Where are you going?’’ tanyakanya.

‘’I want to entertain Eve. She doesn't need to feel that way.’’

After confirming Percy's departure, Cordelia immediately approached her mother. ‘’Mother! Why prevent me from saying it to dad?!’’

‘’Ush, soften your voice!’’ said Ms. Christa in a slow tone.

‘’I should've told dad earlier so he got mad and kicked brother out of the house, then I would have replaced him marrying Adam.’’

‘’Be quiet! You are so stupid. Use your brain to get a little smarter!’’

Cordelia only snorted in annoyance at not understanding her mother's intentions since.

‘’If we tell your father now, then Eve's suffering only happens so quickly. Don't worry, we'll tell you this secret, but at the right time.’’

Eve Laurence's Room

As soon as he entered his room, he felt like he had no spirit of life anymore. His body exists but not his soul. Now everything was completely destroyed, as he stared at his body in the mirror filled with red marks everywhere. Seeing that, made him very disgusted.

Pranks!

Eve broke her mirror with a small ceramic throw. His gaze led to a photo of the woman with the smiling little child in the frame. His outstretched hand grabbed the frame, his eyes back in tears with trembling lips.

‘’Mother.’’

He grimaced in between his cries and hugged the picture frame.

‘’Hiks, hiks, hiks mother, why did mom leave me so soon? Back then, why didn't you tell us to come out? Police also did not find any evidence.’’

Looking at the broken glass everywhere made something cross his mind. Quickly, he took one piece of glass and looked back at his mother's picture frame.

Eve's hands trembled, she tried to dare herself to slash her wrists. His eyes were closed with tears.

Wait for me, Mother! We will meet soon, he said in his heart.

‘’Eve!’’

The deg!

Eve opened her eyes after hearing the voice. Still in tears, he saw a new piece of glass stuck to his wrist, before slashing his hand.

Geck! Geck!

‘’Eve? Have you slept?’’

The voice returned to him. The only sound that remains the reason for survival.

‘’Daddy?’’

He had not left the place, the door to his daughter's room was open.

‘’Ev—‘’

His eyes were rounded to see his daughter's condition falling apart. He even saw broken glass in the room.

‘’Eve! What was? Why are you crying?!’’ worried Mr. Percy.

Eve simply frowned while biting her lower lip.

‘’Check baby. Tell Dad, don't shut up! Are you hurt? Why did your mirror break?’’

Seeing her father's anxiety managed to make Eve cry again. If until his father found out about his virginity had been captured by others before his marriage, then he was very sure, the treatment would change instantly.

His father would look down on him. Not to mention he would definitely be kicked out of this family. Imagining all of this made her very scared. Enough of his mother to have left him, not his father again.

‘’Dad, I am not a good boy.’’

‘’Eh? What do you mean dear?’’

‘’Hiks, hiks, if I'm not a good boy, will Dad leave me?’’

Mr. Percy really did not understand the words of his daughter.

‘’Do you behave like this because of what Cordelia said?’’

Hearing Cordelia's name made Eve round her eyes.

Did he tell Dad? So now Dad will leave me.No, Eve said inwardly.

‘’Co-Cordelia?’’ look at Eve shaking.

‘’Ya. Cordelia told me that you ordered food for us, but it was suddenly stolen.’’

‘’Eh? Food?’’

Mr. Percy nodded his head, holding both of his daughters shoulders.

‘’You two were so weird today, you must have had too much to drink. See yer? Very messy, my beautiful daughter is so broken.’’

Broken. Yeah, that sentence was a big one about Eve's inner self. Hearing that sentence alone came out of his father's mouth, making his body seem to crumble instantly.

Mr. Percy hugged Eve for a moment and kissed her forehead. ‘’Sana clean yourself and rest. Do not let your health deteriorate when the wedding day arrives.’’

Eve hugged her father so tightly while sobbing.

Dad, I'm really sorry for not being able to take care of myself. Just like I said. I'm broken and dirty. My body is not worth it Daddy hugged. I'm sorry I lied to Dad too, sad in my heart.

‘’Hei? Why are you crying again? It has not been goodbye.’’

‘’I just want to hug Dad.’’

Mr. Percy smiled and framed his daughter's face.

Morning has arrived...

The messenger from Raymond's family has arrived. A young brown-haired man came down the car. Hearing the house bell ringing repeatedly, Cordelia gave a grunt peeking at the door.

‘’Who's visiting as early as i—‘’

His speech came to a halt when he saw the figure of a young man wearing formal clothes standing looking at him coldly. That look made him feel uncomfortable.

‘’Who are you?’’

‘’I Secretary Rey. Raymond's family sent me to pick up Miss Eve,’’ Secretary Rey said.

Cordelia's eyes were round. He quickly let the man in.

‘’Who rang the bell so noisy this early? Ah, is that you? You are not polite!’’ mad at Miss Christa.

Cordelia patted her head because her mother did not recognize the messenger from Raymond's family in front of her.
