Chapter 8 The Raymond Family

Raymond's Residence

The first day she became Raymond's daughter-in-law. After her marriage yesterday, nothing happened between the two of them. Adam Raymond her husband just took a break after cleaning the body.

A sunny morning began with her cooking breakfast for Raymond's family. Without taking a daze, he served the same dish when Mr. Moriarty gave him the test when he first came here.

Seeing the dining table equipment was complete so early, made mistress Mary impressed.

‘’Ah~ my favorite dish!’’

Quickly, the woman stared at Eve's Jidori farce. Mr. Moriarty smiled and also started eating his share. Eve, realizing this, finally understood the reason that Mr. Moriarty had given her a test for her with the theme of the house dish. That's because the dish is his wife's favorite. How romantic.

‘’So what do you think of our son-in-law?’’

The woman glanced at Eve at a glance and turned back to her husband. ‘’I didn't know that he was good at cooking, the ingredients and texture of this dish were almost nothing wrong. Making him our son-in-law is the right choice.’’

It feels very proud when someone praises the results of our cooking. Yeah, that's how Eve feels right now. Seeing how the couple talked made him believe that they were a good family.

Not long after, Adam finally arrived.

‘’It just so happens you're here. There are interesting things you should see.’’

Hearing his mother's words, the man joined in. As he sat down, he saw the dish that became breakfast making him sigh.

‘’Mother cook this again? I'll make my own breakfast.’’

‘’Not me who made it, but your wife.’’

Adam stopped as he stood up from his seat. He glanced at Eve who had been standing in front of him. He realized the existence of the woman. The view goes back to the dishes at the dining table.

So he cooked it? Hm, he said in his heart.

He sat quietly again and grabbed a fork and knife, and was about to taste a dish made by his wife. Next to his eyebrows raised as he sliced through the surface of the cabbage which showed his stuffing. I don't know why his appetite has increased.

Half of the cabbage had already been eaten without making a sound, as if the world was just his own and the dish. However, the pleasure did not last long, when his mother ruined the atmosphere.

‘’Hoo, didn't anyone want to make their own breakfast?’’

The deg!

Adam realized. He looked at his mother who was smiling.

‘’My wife made it for me. I should have appreciated his effort. If this was Mom's cooking, then I made my own breakfast.’’

Madam Mary put on her flat face.

Is he really my son? This block of ice, he said in his heart.

‘’Eve, come have breakfast with us too.’’

Eve agrees to Mr. Moriarty's invitation and joins the dining table. He and Adam sat facing each other, though the man remained focused on his food. A smile was immediately etched on his lips.

Thank goodness he loved it, he said in his heart.

Mr. Percy just silently stared at the cuisine available at the dining table. Looking at his charred appearance made him stare at the 2 women in front of him.

‘’Is this your cooking, Cordelia?’’

Cordelia nodded slowly, with a slightly dissatisfied look on her face.

Given her previous family, she and Cordelia never touched the kitchen at all, as all cooking was done by her late husband. Cordelia grew up to be a spoiled child, never cooking, washing or doing homework.

‘’Eve, when he was 5 years old, he could do homework alone without letting me and my late wife do the job. He can also work in one of the fine restaurants. Eve has been funding her own life and this family. If we only rely on my salary as a butler, then our needs are not like this. All thanks to Eve, while you? You are 22 years old but still have no job at all.’’

Cordelia clenched her hands hearing her father compare himself again to Eve. Proud of his beloved son without thinking about his feelings.

‘’Honey, Cordelia is still looking for a job, but there is no suitable job for her yet,’’ said bu Christa.

‘’It must have been because he couldn't do anything.’’

He stood up while breathing. ‘’I'm eating out only, and Christa? Teach your son to be like his brother.’’

Ms. Christa nodded as she stared at her husband's departure. After the man disappeared, Cordelia immediately lost control. He slammed his cooking on the floor.

‘’Cordelia!’’

‘’It's only 1 day after brother left home, and dad already compared myself to him!’’

‘’It's your fault too! You should have taken your father's heart after your brother left this house! But you let him down!’’

Raymond's Residence

After breakfast was over, some servants came to clean the dining table and tidied it up.

Eve returns to her and Adam's room. He pulled a suitcase and intended to make his clothes. Not to forget, the picture frame of his mother was also placed on the lamp table near the mattress.

When opening the closet, he just remembered that the contents were already hanging dozens of fancy clothes. His gaze turned to the suitcase where his clothes were taken from the house. It flashed a sense of inferiority to see the difference between the two were far away.

‘’If you don't want to throw it away, you can keep your suitcase under the mattress.’’

‘’Mum should return to Japan to handle the chefs there.’’

‘’Eh? But mom just came yesterday and already wants to go again?’’

Adam looked at her flat making Eve a little nervous. He should have understood the busyness that Raymond's family had, made him not ask again and immediately went into the bathroom.

A few minutes after he took turns with Adam. When the man came out of the bathroom, Eve helped him get dressed.

Both of them were wide-eyed to notice the sound of the camera ringing, making the two people glance towards the door. She saw that Mary was already standing with a smile holding the camera.

Eve who had tidied Adam's tie immediately pulled his hand.

‘’What do I do?’’ asked Adam with furrowed brows.

‘’Mmhehehe none. Please continue your eternal moment.’’

While staring at the woman's departure, Eve was just wide-eyed.

Is the attitude of the Great Mistress like this? It doesn't feel possible. Why does everyone in Raymond's family have such a strange nature? Very different from what people talk about, he said in his heart.
