A few hours later.
Reva stretched her hand, her mouth opened wide. "Ah, finally finished that math lesson. It feels like my brain is convoluted" he said.
A slow knock landed on his head. He scrunched his forehead, then opened his right eye. "What's wrong? Don't bother me!"
Reva yawned again, this time wider.
"If you open your mouth even wider, I can get sucked into your mouth, too" said Vian.
Reva stuck out her tongue. "Just be wild. Wouldn't it be better if you came in? At least you won't bother me anymore."
Reva buried her head. "I'm sleepy. Don't try to disturb me! If you keep bothering me, I'll beat you to a pulp" he threatened.
"Oh yeah? I wonder how well you beat me to a pulp" Vian said with a smile.
"Ah, you're too noisy" said Reva. He threw away his face, covered his ears, then turned his head back on the table.
After maths lessons that drain the brain, the next lesson is biology. Usually biology teachers come faster. But ten minutes have passed, and neither has the teacher come.
"It's good that the teacher is late to enter. We can be a little relieved" Edward said. He shook his hands in front of his face.
"It looks like Mother Mei understands our feelings a little. After the brain was twisted around because of maths lessons, he entered more slowly than usual" Ferdy continued.
Dimas nodded. "Yes. By the way, why is it so hot today?" tanyakanya.
Ferdy took the book out of his bag, then made it into a fan. "Child of ipa, when things like this are made difficult? Next time use the brain. There is such a thing as a book, it can be used as a fan. Take a child like me."
Edward looked at her with a flat face. "What did you say? Sorry, monkey language, I don't understand," he said.
"Oh, what a pity your fate, young man," replied Dimas to the torment of Ferdy. "But today's weather is hotter than usual."
"Yes. Usually if the weather is this hot, soon there will be heavy rain that flushes," continued Lizha.
"Fer, borrow your book. I want to wear it too" said Dimas.
Ferdy put on a pouting face. He grunts. "After what you told me, you still want to borrow my book? Don't dream!"
"These children are too dramatic. Fellow friends don't be stingy!" snapped Dimas. He took Ferdy's book.
"Don't you have a book too? Use your own book!" reply Ferdy.
Dimas ignored, he still seized the book belonging to Ferdy.
Bella patted her forehead. He walked towards the classroom door. There's a button next to it. "You're all noisy!" his yell.
Bella pressed the button firmly. A fan hanging on the ceiling of the classroom started to move.
"Is this what is called..."
"Main energy source?"
"A fan!" yell at them at the same time.
Bella stayed by the door shaking her head. His eyes peeked out of the classroom window. Suddenly he ran, hurried to sit on his stool.
"Mother Mei is coming!" his yell.
"Don't lie, Bel! If you lie, your tongue will be cut off" Dimas said.
"Who would try to lie? If you don't believe, look at it for yourself!" reply Bella.
Vian patted his desk, making the atmosphere become quiet again. Only the sound of the fan propeller is still spinning.
"Smart kids. Let me check in there," said Vian.
Vian moved his foot toward the window, right next to the door. His footsteps were clear. The classroom atmosphere was still quiet, there was no student voice. His eyes peeked through that window.
"How is this, Captain? Does the target exist?" ask Dimas.
Vian was silent for a moment, suddenly giving his thumb.
"The object is visible in front of the eyes. Height 1.7 meters. He was moving at a speed of 2 m/s," explained Vian who was greeted with a amazed voice from his friends.
"How close is the object to the base, Captain?" ask Ferdy.
"Run fast, Captain!" shouted Ferdy and Dimas together.
Edward pulls Vian's hand, takes him back to his stool. The other students started fighting. They return to their respective positions.
Vian patted Reva's arm many times. He whispered, "Reva, Mother Mei is near."
Reva cleared her throat, but remained in her sleeping position. "I told you not to bother me. You want to fuck with me?"
"Yes, since you alone can't be told, then don't blame me if I do this" he replied. Vian pulls Reva's head.
"Stupid van. That's sick!" shout Reva.
The door handle moves, the door is pushed in.
"I said don't fuck with me, you're-"
Vian closed his mouth. "You are stupid. There was a teacher, but still screaming. Good thing I'm good."
Mother Mei entered the classroom with her friendly smile. In her hands was a thick book, a biology book.
"Good day, children," he said, smiling.
"Siang, Mother Teacher," said the students.
Reva looked at Vian. Out of annoyance, he stomped on Vian's feet.
Vian looked back at him, putting on a smile while sticking out his tongue. "It doesn't hurt" he whispered.
"Today we go back to the lesson in the previous meeting, which is the nervous system. Since our material is up, is there anything you want to ask?" ask Mei's mother.
The mood of the class was silent again, there was no sound other than Mother Mei.
"If no one asks, I will ask you back" Mother Mei continued.
Suddenly all the students turned towards Vian. They're giving us a code, you're the one asking us to be safe.
"Nothing?" ask Mei again.
Vian sighed. He raised his hand. "I have a question, Mom," he said.
Mother Mei smiled again. "Good, Alvian. What's the question?"
"The "nerve system, closely related to the brain, because the brain serves as a giver of 'command' for stimuli received by the senses. I want to ask, will the brain continue to work as before if there is damage to the hippocampus?" ask Vian.
Mother Mei smiled. "Good question, Vian. The hippocampus is the part that manages memory. In many cases, when the part is damaged, the other part will not be affected. Only, this would affect one's memory. Surely you already know about amnesia, don't you?"
Vian nodded. "Yes, Mom. I've heard of amnesia of many kinds."
"Yes. There is memory loss for past events, there is also memory loss of what just happened. But in general, amnesiacs lose memories of past events" Mother Mei said.
"Is there no way to cure that amnesia, ma'am?" ask Kevin.
"Some can be healed, some can't. The treatment also varies," replied Mother Mei.
"Suddenly the biology class became a consulting room" Bella said.
"What problem? This can also add to knowledge. Mei's mother doesn't mind her either" Kevin said.
"Oh, no problem at all. Oh yeah, are there any other questions?" ask Mei again.
All the students shakes.
"Alright, then prepare a piece of paper and stationery. We're a daily replay today," said Ms. Mei.
Ferdy raised his hand. "Don't you say you'd ask us a question if no one asked you again?"
Mother Mei nodded. "really. Doesn't the daily review also contain questions? It's been. Now just do Mother's orders."
Bella raised her hand. "But this is so sudden, ma'am."
"Ready ready, you must be ready."
