Prolog + Episode 1 (Chasing)

Hi good readers, first of all thank you to all loyal readers of my first novel entitled Zora’s Scandal who always replace the cover and title (pardon me for that). All the support from you guys is very motivating me to always remember to write and finally finish one novel well even though there are some of you who are not satisfied of course, so for that I always receive criticism and advice from you for my development in the future.

This time, I came again through this novel to accompany your days. I hope this second novel will be completed better.

The story in this novel is a connection from the first novel but from a different point of view (hence it is highly recommended to read the novel "Zora's Scandal" first).

The main character in this novel is Agni Aditya, the son of Aditya and Zora's husband (read more Zora’s Scandal for those who have not read so that the story is more connected).

Episode 1: Chasing

A young woman ran from the police. The narrow hallway made him a little lucky because now the police motorbike no longer has difficulty entering through the narrow passageway. The woman being chased is bored. He paused, took a short breath, and ran again for a moment as he saw the shadows of some policemen chasing after him. He does not want to be caught, it will be long business if he has to be caught by the police, he will be forced to admit a mistake that is not his fault.

The flank turned right, there was a dead end, he barged into one of the houses. The police were far away, but if the owner of the house shouted because someone broke into his house, he would be caught, then before the owner of the house shouted, he clenched the middle-aged woman's mouth, it was not difficult for her because she was sickly, she was helpless at the hands of the young woman who barged into her house.

“Don't shout, I'll give you a decent reward for not yelling, I'm not long here,” the young lady pulled out a blue wad of money from the small bag she had been holding, while one of his other hands still clutched the mouth of the helpless woman.

“Call if you agree!”

The old woman nodded. His mouth was removed after he nodded. He looked at the woman who was fretting.

“Where can I hide?”

The woman who owned the house pointed at the old cupboard that had been ripped, her other hand took the blue money thrown on her mattress and put it in her bh.

The female intruder was perplexed, she shrugged her shoulders.

“My body will knock down your closet, there is no safer place to hide?”

The old woman seemed to think. He pointed under the bed.

After the intruder woman lay on her back under the stuffy bed, the old woman covered her in cloth and pretended to sleep on an old mattress that had begun to harden and brown.

Shortly after, 1 policeman entered the house. The woman did not move at all like the intruder woman who was now under her bed into the small tenement.

“Excuse me, mom, we are looking for women in black, did mom see it?”

The woman did not answer, she pretended to be sick, she shook her head on her pillow.

The policeman hesitated a little with the mother, his eyes poking at the corners of the small room. There seems to be nothing there. The view is limited because there is no light in the house, the heat of Jakarta because the sun is blazing does not get there, he said, the small houses there are protected from the sun because of the many skyscrapers that surround the small hallway.

“Mother, the woman is very dangerous, talk if mom sees her, mom is safe because we I am here!” The police tried to persuade the seemingly helpless old woman to tell her in case she saw a young woman in black or she deliberately hid the woman there.

The policeman did not get an answer from the hesitating policeman. He shook his head, his face was flat, there was no suspicious fear on his face.

The cop was desperate, he found his friend outside the house.

“How? There doesn't seem to be any here either. Looks like we have to chase in that direction, before he disappears again!”

“Good,” the more stocky cop partner then ran towards the index hand of his colleague's right hand.

“Thank you ma'am, extra, I said yes!” The young woman gave another blue wad of money to the old woman who pretended to be sick.

The woman had risen from her sleep minutes after the policeman came out of the cramped, dark little house.

“Thank you!” he put the money in his bh again.

“I'm sorry!”

Just as the intruder was about to step out the door, the old woman caught his hand, making the intruder astonished, a little annoyed that she was a little surprised by the hand that was now grasping her wrist.

“If you want to run again, stop by here again ya!”

“Ye, want! Let go of me there's still important business!” the young woman pulled her hand violently out of the weak grasp of the old woman who was now smiling seductively.

“Canda...., really tense, again, thanks ye!” he struck him, where money is now safe in there.

“Iya, yes, I say thank you too yes, I will stop by occasionally here!” the mouth of the intruder was weightless, yet in his heart he cussed as many cobwebs clung to his hair and snow.

Soon it will be back if the spider's nest is no longer in his clothes and hair. The old plumber helped, hitting the generous forward's shoulder softly because he saw a small spider walking there.

“Already, it's clean! Goodbye, be careful, don't get caught!”

Without glancing at the old woman occupant of the house, the intruder came out of the house, before he made sure the narrow alleyway was safe from the police who were chasing him.

He walked slowly and carefully along the passage, his gaze forward but his eyes moved left and right, just in case there were police still scouting him there.

He was relieved that there were no policemen along that passageway, only the eyes of the people along the way stared at him sharply, as if judging him as a criminal who deserved to be caught by the police, he said, or either they feel sorry for him who has to be chased by the police.

The men wondered what was the mistake that the woman had made, all the questions were asked in each other's hearts. They're too used to criminal chases with the cops in the alley, so this afternoon, the woman was chased by the police, everyone watching and when asked by the police, all compact replied not to see anyone they were chasing, but they all knew exactly where the woman had secured herself.

“Halo, Agni, this time you can't run anymore!”

Just at the end of the narrow alley, a policeman ambushed him.

The woman named Agni swiftly turned right and was about to run again into the alley before she realized there was a thick police officer who had confronted her from behind, out of nowhere the policeman appeared, he didn't notice if there were any police hiding there.

Agni ransacked the stocky policeman, but his strength was not strong enough to knock down the police's stock, he was easily incapacitated.

Agni grumbled in the heart. Money is gone, and now he has been caught.

“Don't fight, the more you fight, the sicker your hand is!” slightly shouting, the stocky policeman reminded Agni not to move and try to escape from the clutches of his hands. He was handcuffed, like a dangerous criminal, he was led to a police car.
