Leon stopped his car in front of the simple whitewashed house. Some people whose homes were neighboring turned to look at the car that came.
"Do you think this is good? A small house away from the city" asked Leon.
Granada nodded. "I like it."
"You sure? Now you live around people" whispered Leon.
"I've stopped being an assassin, so it doesn't matter if I live next door" Granada said.
Leon nodded. "All right."
The neighbors' mothers whispered and began a struggle between them.
"Who is that young girl? She just came alone? So, he bought Rahmat's house?"
"She's like a cynical and arrogant girl."
"I think he's still in school."
"Did he come from Jakarta? What if he's carrying a virus? Isn't it a pandemic now?"
"We need to be vigilant. Let not our children and husbands be tempted by her beauty."
The workers put Granada's belongings into the house. They seem busy.
"It looks like those mothers are watching you. Look, Venora. emmm, I mean Granada, the villagers are scarier than the townspeople" whispered Leon.
Granada looked at the mothers who were staring cynically at him then she turned to Leon again. "I'm sure they understand the meaning of each other's lives."
After everything was done, Granada and Leon went to a nearby restaurant.
"There's no restaurant here" Leon muttered with an annoyed grunt.
"But the food was good, really," said Granada. "So I've offered you to find a restaurant in an area that's still urban."
Meanwhile, the neighboring mothers of Granada's new home look kepo. They peeked through the window of the girl's house. They wanted to know the items that the girl had.
"What is a talking rice cooker? It looks like that girl's a rich man's son."
"Maybe he's Siri's wife's son."
"You mostly watch soap operas!"
Without them noticing, Granada was standing behind them. "Eh."
They were surprised and looked.
"Sorry, excuse me." Granada entered his home.
"Look, how arrogant he is. He didn't say hi to us, but he was a kid yesterday afternoon."
"He's so cold and annoying."
"Come, go."
Granada was actually still standing at the door and hearing what they were talking about. The girl entered her room then she put up the katana that lived one on the wall right above the headboard.
The girl sighed heavily while touching the short part of her hair due to being hit by the katana slash.
"I wanted to be friends with you, but you didn't seem to like me." Ryden's words were still ringing in his ears.
Granada breathed a heavy sigh. "Maybe you've felt the affection of your parents and your brother before. Maybe you have friends too. But, I didn't. I don't understand, why should humans be friends? Why do humans have to coexist?
Man can live alone on his own feet. That was my previous thought. After meeting you, I understand, that I really need a friend."
The next day, Granada arrives at her new school. He walks with the teacher to his class, X-IPS-B.
"Good morning, kids. We have new students. Granada, please introduce yourself." The teacher rubbed Granada's back.
The girl spread her eyes around. All the students were staring at him. Granada smiled faintly. "Hello, my name is Granada Harlyn."
