The Final Stage (Part 1)

The day of the final came. Vex Building became more crowded than previous matches. Enthusiasm that boomed, making many spectators who watched the match on the front screen of the building.

The night before the game, Archie was sleep deprived from being too restless. This is the first time he has acted as an operator in a real game. He is currently in the operator's room.

Aro was already very prepared in the Evopass room to wait for Vinn there. It was as if he had prepared for revenge a few years ago, which made him unable to compete against him.

Then Vinn entered the room. Seen the look of his face that looks happy when he saw the face of Aro who was ambitious when he looked at him.

“This is the umpteenth time we met in the final round, right?” asked Vinn and replied a nod by Aro.

“And maybe, this will be the last time,” continued Vinn, Aro was surprised when he heard it.

“Means?” asked Aro with curiosity that enveloped his heart.

“After today's game, I will retire. Because I feel like I've had enough in this VEG world.”

“But, your condition is still pretty prime. Are you really going to retire like Zaoline did? Playing in the previous few years, and his last match in the final round also faced you,” heard Aro's question it made Vinn nod.

“Yes, actually I am also quite tired. It seems that it is still quite prime and continues to perch at number one,”, said Vinn while chuckling.

“But even like that, I won't budge. I want you to seize my position, not me to hand it over,” continued Vinn in a very serious tone.

Aro smiled with his face that looked very ready to compete. He knows Vinn's feelings, and he wants to make this match very interesting.

He wants to win the game, not because of the first position that is handed to him, but because of the first position he wants to achieve with his own efforts.

“I'm here because I have to be and want to be a winner. That's why I can be here. For this time I promise, you will see me as a person who deserves to be in that position,” Aro replied as he looked at Vinn with a serious face.

Vinn nodded steadily. He also promised not to give up in the final and also his last match.

Virtual Evo Game, Space Zone, Final Stage.

This time, Aro and Vinn appeared in the Space Zone. A new zone created specifically for this year's VEG finals. They are inside a rocket with a body state that does not float in the air.

Their bodies do not float because their gravity is adjusted to that of the earth, so they can move freely to carry out missions. The two players appeared inside the same rocket, only in different positions.

As usual, a digital window screen appears in front of both players. Mission information can be read directly by each operator.

Its mission is to only attack all existing opponents. Robots, drones or anything else. Hacking every corner of the defense in the rocket, but the difference this time is, hacking the system can add life points.

The fight with the opponent was not restricted to a place. They are allowed to exit the rocket during a fight. This time the Space Zone is on a planet called Penne.

Archie tells each point of the coordinates to Aro. Similarly, what the operator Vinn did to the player. And all of those players began their journey of completing missions.

Then as the two midfielders were running around the rocket, they felt something was lacking. Armament. Aro fingered part of his sword sleeve, and it turned blank. He also attempted to aim at the object with his gloves, but the laser did not come out.

Both of them lost their weapons suddenly, because Vinn also experienced the same thing.

“Archie, please send me any weapon,” Aro said. But, while trying to send Aro his weapon program, it was not able to be sent.

“Aro, we are in trouble,” replied Archie.

“Hah? What problem?” aro replied who further ran towards the corner of the defense system.

Archie read out the writing that appeared on his computer screen. There is an additional mission for them. Each player must search for his own weapon around the rocket. The operators are not given access to provide weaponry to the player while inside the rocket.

Operators can still help players to provide coordinates and hacking information. In addition, they could also send out other programs besides weapons. After reading that, Archie was disappointed.

He had just finished his program in weaponry, and it turned out to be unused for the final round this time. Aro stopped running and tried to think clearly, the man thought of how to compete without weapons.

“Archie, do you have any other development programs? Especially for my hands and feet,” asked Aro.

Archie thought for a moment. Then he felt his mind clear again. He had an idea to use one of his programs. He used a vehicle program that was designed after getting an idea while moping in the lake.

Finally, wear it too. Inner Archie.

Archie typed his keyboard, then pressed the enter key. A floating blue-colored board, decorated with neon lights appeared next to Aro. The board is a hoverboard that can fly when used.

Aro was amazed when he saw it.

“How, Aro? Can not be used there?” archie asked anxiously.

Then Aro tried to use that board. He stepped on the board and slowly his body floated in the air, and the board moved according to his wishes.

“Quiet Archie, wearable. Thank you, I will learn quickly,” answered and then darted towards the coordinates that Archie gave.

As Aro continues his journey, Archie quickly develops other programs. Fortunately, he has a backup program that he has prepared from far away.

Meanwhile, from the other side, Vinn is waiting for the program run by Eon, the operator.

Her avatar outfit wears a grey shirt with a black tie, and also wears a black suit robe. Usually with the addition of his gun, making him look like a mobster.

But apparently the suit he was wearing became more sophisticated because of the program from Eon. He turned it into an armor suit to better protect Vinn.

“Look good,” said Vinn. Then he began to continue his journey by running.

Aro finds a box that looks like a suitcase. While controlling his hoverboard, he headed for the box. It turned out to be an armory box, he immediately opened it. The box contained a softgun like the one owned by Liam.

He tried to aim at one of the objects, but did not fire. Because Aro didn't press the trigger.

“Archie, does this weapon have any contents?”

Archie immediately searched for information about the weapon. The weapon has a fairly long firing range, and also has a large amount of ammunition. Aro immediately saved it.

“Good weapon,” Aro said. He immediately continued his journey in search of a defense system that must be hacked.

Aro has become more adept at controlling his vehicle. Seeing Aro who already knew how to use it, Archie began to increase the speed on the board. Aro flinched while controlling it, as the vehicle let out the sound of its engine.

The hoverboard began to speed quickly, Aro who realized it was trying to control the speed. A defense system was found in one corner of the room.

Quickly, Aro manages all the code that resides on the digital window screen as before. Once completed, Archie's computer displays the number of Aro life points that add up to 10 points.

Aro continued to search the system. But he met a lot of guards there. They were armed and wearing masks, then all of them aimed shots at Aro.

Quickly, Aro immediately lifted the board, then the vehicle let out air from below to encourage itself to fly higher. He shot those people from above. Some of them got shot.

Aro bent his ankles, then moved his weight to turn and revolved around those people. The shots he took out in a row from above, and their numbers began to look a little.

Archie amazed and said while closing the headset microphone, “Feelings used to fit me skateboarding fall-down continuously, this one person once tried even already seem pro terribly.”

Those masked people had already been completely overcome by Aro. He took a breath, then continued on his way.

He found a defense and saw someone there. Vinn, he's trying to hack the system. Then Aro chose to hide behind the wall. He took up arms and aimed at Vinn from afar.

“DOR!” the gunshot sounds very clear. The shot hit Vinn's arm. Realizing he was hit by a shot, Vinn immediately looked back. There's no one.

“Is anyone here?” ask Vinn.

“On my screen there is no one, Vin,” replied the operator.

Archie observed one strange thing. Vinn was indeed hit by a shot in his hand, but his life was only reduced by five points. He immediately found out what happened, while Aro was still waiting for the right time when he should appear.

“Aro,” call Archie. “What's up?” ask Aro.

“Now Vinn wears armor around his suit, like it's a program from his operator.”

“What is the advantage?” asked Aro who was getting serious listening and observing Vinn.

“The armor is strong, one shot or hit, only five points less life. A kind of shield.”

Forehead Aro frowning. The armor brought benefits to Vinn. Inevitably, he had to deal with it even more difficult. He thought, how many shots must be issued to make Vinn's life points reduced a lot.

But he himself also hacked the system to add his life points. Inner Aro.

“Archie? Do you have any way to increase the firepower of this weapon?”

Archie thought for a moment. Then he remembered the explosive material he had studied at the Sierra Academy. The woman asked for time to process her program quickly. While Aro, he went straight out to attack Vinn with his vehicle.

He must distract Vinn and his operator, so that Archie can have time to complete the program. Vinn was about to put down his palm, which turned out to be shot again by Aro.

Vinn. Aro looks far from his sight. He saw Aro speeding towards him using a vehicle, then opened fire in succession. Vinn dodged the shot, and Aro jumped off the hoverboard.

One of Aro's shots hit him. Vinn away from the system. Aro instead approached the digital window screen on the system, then placed his palm. Aro's life points added another 10 points.

Archie, who was observing it while processing the program, only shook his head in confusion with his partner. “Can he benefitin chance.”

Both are still in the same place. Aro aimed at his weapon in front of Vinn who was dozens of feet away from where he stood. It looks like Vinn is in the same position as him.

Archie managed to increase the explosive power of the weapon currently used by Aro. Meanwhile from his position, Aro sharpened his eyes as if hinting at something.

“DOR!” Vinn shot Aro first. But Aro had dodged faster than him. He jumped towards the hoverboard moving towards him, like a pet approaching his master.

Aro who was already standing on the board, took off his headset, then threw it to the side. As if to signal that he really did not hesitate to attack Vinn. He immediately opened fire many times to knock down Vinn.

But several rounds of ammunition flooded in, returning fire from Aro and hitting his left shoulder twice. The roar of ammunition whirred the large rocket. A lot of bullets hit the rocket wall.

Despite being attacked by Vinn with bullets, Aro was no less fierce. Four rounds of ammunition hit Vinn's leg. The person Aro attacked started growling furiously with a drooping body. Meanwhile from his computer, Archie gets new information.

“Aro, Vinn's lower body is not protected by his armor. The four shots you fired earlier had cost Vinn 40 points of life, plus 10 points of life reduced from his hand when you shot,” said Archie.

“How many life points does he have?”

“He still has 70 life points. Because earlier, he had already hacked several defense systems as well.”

Aro who saw that Vinn, exhaled loudly. He also had to hack a few more systems in order to have enough life-point reserves. Current position, 100 life points for Aro and 70 life points for Vinn.

Even though it is safe, it must be careful. Seeing Vinn still drooping, Aro had a chance to escape. He darted fast using his vehicle.

After Aro got away from him, Vinn tried to get back on his feet. Neither Aro nor Vinn, both of them always attacked mercilessly. Vinn who was already standing, looked at Aro who had started to look far away.

“Send me that program. Save it outside the rocket,” said Vinn.

Aro had already accumulated many life points, the result of a system hack. In total there were already 150 life points he got. Of course, despite having a lot of life reserves, anyone should be careful in Virtual Evo Game.

The man saw a window in the rocket. Like there's preparation for something Aro doesn't know for what. He asks Archie to find out what happened. While waiting for more information from Archie, Aro headed outside the rocket.

Archie noticed something strange outside the rocket. He detected the movement of the machine from someone's program whose size is quite large. He felt familiar with the programming code that appeared on his computer screen.

He sighed, his guess was right. The program was created by Eon. Operator from Vinn. Archie keeps trying to figure out what happened, as he also sees Vinn coming out of the rocket.

Why is he making guns? Inner Archie. He began to realize something, then immediately reported it to Aro who was still trying to get out of the rocket. But apparently, he was actually blocked by several robots.

But quickly, Aro managed to overcome it. Then he got a call from Archie. “What's up?” ask Aro. Archie's voice hesitated when he wanted to convey it.

“Aro, I can make two conclusions. First, Vinn built a weapon outside the rocket. Second, I also have information that players can use their own weapons outside the rocket. The mission inside the rocket was only to add life points,” said Archie.

“In other words, the real match is outside the rocket?” ask Aro.

“Iya, and the digital window screen for the last hacking system can be accessed, when one of the players has been defeated,” replied Archie with half a vibrate. He felt that he had wasted a lot of Aro energy since then.

Again, that feeling of being a useless person, reappeared. Once recalled, the operator was not given access to weapons, only while inside the rocket. Not given access at all.

Archie was caught in a mission trap in the final round. He was angry at himself. So angry, Archie just wanted to cry. The woman felt that her lack of research was still inherent in her, even after obtaining a license as an operator.

Aro closed his eyes, trying to calm down.

“Sorry, Aro. I'm a bad operator—”

“Archie, listen,” cut Aro, he closed his eyes.

“After returning from hiatus, I realized, the Virtual Evo Game game system has changed a lot compared to before. The players are getting more and more experts, so my ranking can fall. Even if I still fight alone like I used to, maybe I can't get to the final,”.

Aro took a breath, then opened his eyes.

“All the information obtained quickly, this new gadget, I will not feel if you do not apply to be my operator. And I'm very grateful for that.”

Archie felt his eyes glaze over. In the middle of a game like this, emotions between each other are indeed very influential performance. The Aro operator feels more confident at the moment.

“Let's start again, please help,” said Aro.

Archie nodded quickly, then prepared all the indispensable things. He sent his weapons outside the rocket. While Aro, he ran quickly to the exit of the rocket. The fight in the Space Zone of the Virtual Evo Game world, will soon reach its end.
