Chapter 7 Substitute Fathers
Slowly the eyes that kept closed began to blink. His pupils adjusted the incoming light, after two days the eyes were closed. Summer circulated her gaze looking at every corner of the room. His hand felt his stomach that last moment before he was unconscious was still bulging. But now, the stomach is already seen deflating.
"My child ... Where's son?" lirih Summer slowly.
Along with Hanna who entered the ICU room wanted to see Summer's situation. She was so happy that Summer had finally regained consciousness. He quickly sped up to see his cousin-in-law.
"Summer, thank God you're sober" said Hanna with a happy smile adorning both corners of her lips.
"Mbak, my son ..," said Summer.
"Your son was born safe. He's a man and very handsome. Hold on, Ma'am get a doctor first" said Hanna. He immediately pressed the green button to call the medical personnel. There was a person talking to the intercom who was there.
"Sir, ma'am, how can we help you?"
"Sir, Summer's patient is conscious. Please come here!" hanna.
"Good, Mistress. We'll be there soon."
Not long after, doctors and nurses arrived to check on Summer. After making sure Summer is okay, the doctor and nurse return to her room, leaving Summer with Hanna.
"Mister Hanna, how long do I sleep" Summer asked.
"Two days, it's lucky that you're willing to take responsibility so that all the costs in this hospital will be the same."
"Sir, I want to see my son."
"In a moment the nurse will be here to bring your son. He's a healthy, handsome boy. Mama saw it. The nurse just washed him. Everyone who saw her fell in love with your baby Summer."
Just as Hanna finished talking, a nurse came to hand over the little baby in order to get breast MILK from her mother. Summer received the baby with trembling hands and a drop of tears that fell from her eye patch. She was so moved to still be able to see the fruits of her love with Rain. The man she loved so much.
Mother knows, the way Mother has you is wrong. But you're still a holy and innocent baby, son. Grow up to be a good child who is useful to others. May the Lord always protect, guard and bless your life, aamiin.
Without drama not knowing where the source of his life lies, the baby boy immediately finds what he is looking for when Summer gets closer to his chest. Like a person starving for days, the baby sucked greedily making Hanna and the nurse who took her smile look at her.
"He's so greedy, it seems like this handsome brother misses his mother a lot" Nurse said.
"Yes, right. Look at your baby Summer, she's so excited" Hanna said. "Have you prepared his name?"
"Already, Ma'am. Alkanna Rain Lazuardi," Summer replied with a faint smile. She recalled Rain choosing the name when the two of them were dreaming of getting married soon and having a child. Even Rain has prepared the name of the child if born female or male.
"Good name" praised the nurse.
The three beautiful women dissolved in the chatter about how to care for the baby while waiting for Alkanna to finish breastfeeding. Until finally heard the door of the treatment room someone knocked him from the outside. Hanna saw who was coming.
Billy and Radid came together. They were told that Summer had regained consciousness, so rushed to the hospital to see the girl.
"Honey, how's Summer doing?" asked Radid so curious.
"Alhamdulillah is stable. But now it's breastfeeding Alka. So the entry will be later if Alka has finished breastfeeding."
"That's our nephew, Bang. Other people's time anyway," Hanna explained with a slight frown.
"Sir Billy, I'm sorry we can't seem to look inside. How about we just sit here first," Radid asked Billy who had been silent.
"It's okay, Mom. It just so happens that my time is also loose." Billy lied with a smile.
Finally they sat on the waiting bench in front of Summer's room. The two grown men looked very familiar. Moreover, Billy's beautiful nature makes them like old friends.
After a long time they talked outside, the nurse came out with the baby Alka back because it would return to the special room of the baby. Billy smiled at the handsome baby. She felt in love and wanted to have a cute baby.
"Are you welcome, Sus?" ask Billy.
"Please, Sir. Excuse me first!" tell the nurse.
Billy enters Summer's treatment room. I can't wait to see the victims of the accident. Billy felt very relieved when he saw Summer's conscious state. He gave his best smile when he first looked at the beautiful woman.
"Miss, I'm very happy that you've improved. I'm sorry for accidentally grazing you. At that time I was in a hurry to pick up my sister who had just returned from abroad" Billy regretted.
"It's okay, Sir. Everything has happened, I also want to thank you for taking responsibility and bringing to the hospital when you were in a hurry."
"It's my duty, miss. Oh yeah, just call me Billy Bang, let us be more familiar. Isn't that right, Bang Radid?" Billy looked towards Radid who was watching him and Summer spoke.
"Yes, right Summer. It seems, Mr. Billy is above you" Radid said.
"Alright, Bang!" Summer smiled sweetly at Billy, making the man feel that something different was touching his heart.
Not the pity or pity that Billy now feels for the victims of the accident. But something else he doesn't understand. Billy only knew he wanted to keep the woman.
After that day, Billy visited Summer more often. Every day he visited her with a variety of baby food and supplies. Until Summer gets home from the hospital, she accidentally picks him up and drives Summer to Radid's house.
However, one thing that became the question, why did she never see the husband of the beautiful woman, as long as she was hospitalized. Finally, Billy asks Radid because he is afraid to offend Summer if he asks the woman directly.
"Bang, sorry before. Summer's husband why never go to the hospital to see how things are going? Only his coworkers have ever met me" asked Billy when Summer had returned home to Radid.
"Actually Summer was left married by her lover," replied Radid slowly.
"I mean Brother ...." Billy did not continue his words when he saw Radid nod his head.
Maybe this is my chance to get into that beautiful woman's life. Like getting a discount at the mall, buy one get two. Approaching his mother, I also got that handsome and adorable child. Being a surrogate father is not bad.
