THE END OF HOPE

Two months ago

Right where Rabiah, Rahul and Rahil are celebrating their graduation today. Many families and relatives attended the event, including friends Yusuf and Yasmin. Ameer and his family were also present.

"Goodbye, my brothers, you will finally enter college. Where do you plan to go to college?" ameer asked Rahul, Rabiah and Rahil who were sitting together.

"Yes bang, thank you. If I plan to go to college here, I can't be far from Ummi" Rahul said.

"Huu. you spoiled son of a bitch," joked Rahil.

"Biarin, rather than you, would like to stay in college here for fear of being away from me" Rahul said.

"Eh.. Who says, don't believe me, I plan to study abroad anyway" Rahil told Ameer.

Ameer just shook his head slowly to see Rahul and Rahil, twin brothers who were longing for each other but when close to each other sneered. Ameer's eyes then turned to Rabiah who had been smiling since seeing the debate of his two twin brothers.

"If you deck? Where are you going to college?" ameer asked Rabiah, making Rabiah immediately turn to Ameer, for a moment their gazes met each other, but Rabiah who realized immediately lowered his gaze.

"If I'm the same as Rahul's brother, just want to go to college here," Rabiah replied still lowered his head, and Ameer just nodded.

They started sharing stories together, occasionally joking and laughing. Rabiah who began to feel uncomfortable because he was the only daughter there, decided to return to his room for a moment to pray Dzuhur.

After fulfilling his duty, Rabiah was about to meet the Mother in the kitchen, but his steps stopped when he heard someone say his name while talking to his mother. Actually, he did not want to eavesdrop, but when he was about to leave, Rabiah again heard the words of his mother's friend who said he wanted to propose to his son. That made Rabiah forced to clarify his hearing so as not to misunderstand.

“If Rabiah does not yet have a candidate, can my son propose to him? I really dream of a sholehah woman like Rabiah to be my son-in-law,”, said Maryam who is a friend of Yasmin in the Pharmacy organization she follows.

“Is the son you mean Kamil?” tanya Yasmin who already knows Kamil because she often attended the same Pharmacy organization activities with Yasmin.

“Iya Yas, do you agree?” ask Maryam.

“If I agree anyway, but anyway all the decisions go back to Rabiah, because he has just graduated High School and is not even 18 years old,” said Yasmin.

Rabiah was certainly very surprised and agitated, he did not expect, at the age of 18 years old, someone already wanted to propose to him.

Rabiah then turned and left, the name that currently crossed his mind was Ameer. Now, determined to meet and convey his anxiety to Ameer, Rabiah wants to know how Ameer feels about her, so that he can make a consideration to make a decision when later family friends Umminya really come to propose to him.

However, Rabiah has been looking here and there, even he has been looking at Rahul and Rahil's place but Ameer is also not there. Until Rabiah leaves the house, he meets Anna and Wildan who just got out of his car.

“Tante and om from where? How to get out of the car?” ask Rabiah.

For some reason these days, Ameer always felt uneasy. His mind always turned to Rabiah. Not wanting his love to be tarnished for always thinking about a woman who is not yet halal for him, Ameer decided to immediately return to Indonesia and propose to Rabiah.

“Biah was again going to fittings bridal clothes with Ummi,” replied Rahul casually but managed to make Ameer choke.

“You mean wedding dress fittings?” ameer asked to be sure, hoping that what was on her mind right now was not right.

“Iya bang, fittings for bridal clothes, 2 weeks away from marriage,” Rahul said.

Ameer was unable to speak anymore, it felt like her mind and body were currently unable to cooperate. His mind wanted to toughen up, but his body actually showed the opposite response.

Not wanting to show his surprise, Ameer immediately decided to go home. However, it was not his home that Ameer was aiming for right now. Ameer instead directs his motorbike to a deserted beach.

“I think I came too soon to propose to him because he was only 18 years old, it turns out I was late,” I crazily Ameer smiled wryly while throwing stones at the sea in front of him.
