4 Years later

He is like a banyan tree that is strong, strong and strong. The rain and the storm that hit so fiercely could not shake him. He had an ice-cold heart, a sharp gaze raining down like an arrow that was capable of making anyone collapse.

However, behind that toughness was a fragile figure.

Just as the banyan tree has the ability to store water, so too does he keep wounds to himself. Four years is not enough to heal his heartache for betrayal and deceit.

The once warm and gentle Rafli has turned into a cold, reserved and sometimes irritable figure. It was as if his heart had died and was buried along with Arumi's disappearance.

This morning he was already standing in front of the mirror while confirming the tie. It's a weekend, but he chose to work. This was the life he had lived for the past four years. His days are spent working. Forgetting all the pain that once mercilessly filled his heart.

The man's steps stopped for a moment as his gaze was fixed on little Aika. A beautiful little angel who became the source of his strength, a damper of anger, and a cool heart that burns.

Although it is undeniable, every part of his daughter reminds Rafli of the figure of Arumi.

Aika has a face cut from her daddy. The shape of the nose, lips and facial lines are exactly the same. While the eyeballs, hair, even habits are the same as the woman who gave birth to it.

A small example as presented in front of Rafli now, Aika is having breakfast bread with melted sweet chocolate milk, just like Arumi used to be.

I don't know why Arumi's memories always drag her into the past. The past he wanted to get out of his mind. However, the more Rafli wants to forget the more shadow Arumi haunts.

"Eat a lot, baby." Yuna's words scattered the man's daydream.

Yuna was sitting on a chair while feeding Aika with a piece of bread. For a moment the woman's attention was distracted to her husband who this morning was neat with a work suit.

"Good morning. You're going to work today?"

"Yes." Yeah." Reply Rafli briefly.

Yuna let out a long breath. His hands were still busy to feed Aika with pieces of bread. "What time are you going to be home?"

"Of course." Rafli pulled out a chair and sat right next to Aika. He turned the plate over and grabbed a piece of his favorite strawberry jam toast.

"It's Sunday, Daddy." The adorable voice from those little lips greeted the ears.

Rafli glanced at his daughter while commenting on a faint smile. He had almost forgotten that yesterday he had promised Aika that he would accompany her at home this weekend.

"Sorry, Honey. Daddy there's an important job that can't be put off."

Suddenly the look on the little girl's face was moody like a cloud cloud overcast. Work as a doctor as well as a businessman really seized the attention of his father. Make their meetings very limited. That is at breakfast in the morning, or if lucky at night before going to bed. Sometimes when Rafli comes home, little Aika is already asleep.

Inevitably the pieces of guilt penetrated when he saw his daughter's pair of eyes inundated with clear liquid. As a father, of course Rafli wants his daughter to live in abundance of affection. Even without the figure of a real mother.

Slowly she moved to hold her daughter. "Daddy promised me today would come home early for you."

"Promise, Daddy?"

"Promise, dear." The soft caress landed onto the top of the head with the two-pointed hair. Followed by a kiss of love on the forehead.

"I'll punish Daddy if he comes home long."

Aika raised her little finger, then greeted Rafli by linking their two fingers, as a symbol of promise between father and son.

"Aika, isn't there a mommy today who will accompany you?" sambar Yuna's.

Aika looked at the woman sitting by her side. His originally cheerful face turned slightly pale in a matter of seconds. Slowly, he nodded his head slowly.

"Oh yes, Rafli. Today the new nanny for Aika will come from the foundation. The head of the foundation called me."

"Hem." Rafli answered briefly.

Breakfast just passed. Rafli glanced at the watch circling his wrist. This morning he had an appointment with his best friend and coworker, Evan, to visit several cafes and restaurants owned by them.

"Aika, Daddy's leaving first, yeah." Rafli kissed his daughter's forehead. Then swing your steps towards the door.

While Aika was just waving her hands seeing her daddy leave the house and disappear behind the door.

"Come, baby. Let's change clothes first. Your clothes were spilled milk earlier," Yuna asked.

"Yes, Mommy."

With a bent face, Aika reached out to the elegant-looking beautiful woman. Yuna took him to the room and closed the door tightly.

The tiny body had to flinch and tremble as Yuna pulled her arm violently. Her teary eyes implied fear. Her lips tightly closed to hold back the cry. Especially when he felt Yuna's sharp nails as if they were perfectly immersed in her delicate skin.

"Until when should I take care of this child!" his grunts, began to get bored with the laborious work.

One month ago, Aika's nanny stopped working so they had to find a new nanny. And during this one month, it was Yuna who had to meet all of Aika's needs.

If Rafli is likened to a banyan tree, then Yuna is like a hammer. Some people call it a destructive plant. Because that is what he is.

When Rafli is at home, Aika is treated like a princess in a kingdom. But if Rafli has gone, things are turned upside down. Abusive treatment and insults are sometimes received by Aika from her mother.

"Hurry, put on your own clothes! Learn to be independent!" Yuna threw Aika's clothes onto the bed.

Aika held back tears. Her small hand grabbed the piece of clothing that Yuna had just smashed onto the bed. Little Aika could not even wear clothes properly.

"Wrong, it's upside down! Wear the right one!"

Again, Yuna's clasps echoed. Aika can only hold the pain in the heart. For if he were to shed tears, he would receive more punishment from Yuna.

Aika did not dare to complain about her mother's actions to the daddy, because Yuna often gave him the threat of punishment and it made him choose silence.

One day when Rafli was out of the country for several days, Aika was sentenced to be locked up in the bathroom for two hours. The thing that traumatized him and did not dare to fight again.

Yuna's tough attitude makes Aika a quiet and timid child. He was often scared when he slept at night.

"I'll get out first! If I come back and your clothes are still a mess, I will punish you! Understood?" threaten Yuna really.

"Me-understand, Mommy!" answer's shaking.

Yuna moved out of the room by slamming the door, making the little body flinch again. Slowly, Aika took off the reverse clothes she was wearing. Then stand facing the window.

Slowly sobs started to fill the room. With tears Aika looked at the cloudy sky that morning.

In silence, he prayed from the heart.

"Lord, why give me such an evil mommy? Can you send me a good and dear mommy?"
