"Critical patient!"
The short answer the female doctor gave made Rafli feel claustrophobic. His whole body was also weak.
"Criticism?"
The doctor nodded slowly. "He had some pretty serious injuries. He also lost a lot of blood. But take it easy, we've contacted the blood bank. For now ...."
Not finished the doctor's explanation, Rafli has barged in. Seeing Arumi lying with medical equipment made the guilt binding her heart stronger. If he could ask God, he wished that he was the one lying there, not Arumi.
Rafli felt limp on his leg as he approached the patient's bed. He looked at Arumi's pale face. Wanting to kiss her forehead like before, but Rafli felt he had no right to do so, so he could only stroke her face.
"I'm sorry" she whispered softly. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't been blinded by anger, maybe now things would have been different. You don't have to go through any of this, and Aika doesn't have to be traumatized like now."
Inside the room Rafli was drowning in regret.
After Arumi was transferred to the treatment room, she kept up all night and did not leave him even for a minute. He even slept in a sitting position with his head face down on the patient's bed. While his hand continued to hold Arumi's hand.

Three days later
Arumi was still lying in the hospital unconscious. During these three days Rafli never left him. He just went home to take a shower and change his clothes, the rest was spent in the hospital.
Luckily Mom Riana had already returned from overseas after Rafli asked her to come home. After the incident with Yuna, Rafli could not entrust his daughter in the hands of a nanny, thus asking Mom Riana to go home.
Mom Riana was unable to stem the tears after hearing what had happened to Arumi during these 4 years. He regretted why at that time did not defend Arumi and let Rafli expel him, even though his little heart was very sure that Arumi was a good woman.
"You've made a fatal mistake. You should have given Arumi a chance to explain everything."
Rafli let out a long breath. Regret comes hitting him hard. "I'm sorry, Mom. It's all my fault."
"But will he forgive me after everything I've done?"
The question felt pierced into Mom Riana's heart. He remembers the last time he met Arumi. At that time he was forced to sneak just to be able to hug and breastfeed his daughter.
"Mother believes Arumi is not a vengeful woman. He'll forgive you."
"Daddy!" aika's call halted the conversation between Rafli and Mom Riana. Rafli then leaned over and hugged his daughter. A few days of rarely meeting made her miss Aika so much, and vice versa.
"Daddy where's Brother Alesha? Why haven't you come home?" The question made Rafli kiss his daughter's forehead.
"Sister Alesha still needs a hospital break, honey."
"Why not rest at home. Daddy can take care of Alesha's sister."
A few moments Rafli was silent. We are considering in our hearts whether to tell Aika about Alesha who is none other than Arumi, who is her birth mother. Toddlers like Aika who are plain might be confused. Because as far as she is concerned, her mommy is the evil Yuna.
"Aika, daddy has a surprise for you."
"What Daddy?" asked Aika excitedly.
Rafli sits Aika on the sofa. "Mommy will be back with us."
Suddenly the bright smile on Aika's lips dimmed hearing her daddy's words. Realizing the fear clearly reflected in Aika's gaze, Rafli immediately grabbed her daughter.
"I mean daddy's not Mommy Yuna, honey. But your real mommy."
Aika still looked confused.
"Your real mommy is Mommy Arumi. He is back and will be with us forever. And he's Alesha's sister."
"Why can Alesha's sister be a mommy, Daddy? Has God changed it?"
Rafli chuckled at his daughter's innocent question. Secretly Aika once prayed to God to replace her evil mommy with Alesha. And now that prayer is answered.
