Zaenab And Zaki

Zaenab And Zaki
Final Decision (part 2)

"Our client also revealed that our client had expressed his condolences to the student but the student was always selling expensive." said the defendant's Legal Counsel.

The atmosphere in the conference room turned murky. Babe and Zaki were still able to hold back his anger, they were still sitting quietly while looking at Zaenab who was still held tightly by Mother Munaroh. But some of the people attending the trial, such as schoolteachers Zaenab and school friends Zaenab, could not help but curse the legal counsel saying "Zaenab is selling expensively".

"Tuk tuk tuk"the hammering of the Chief Judge.

"I beg the audience not to make noise during the trial" Hak said

"Please proceed with legal counsel." continued the Chief Justice.

Not yet had the defendant's legal counsel spoken, the prosecutor spoke first.

"We object to Your Majesty!"the prosecutor said loudly.

"Defence received. Please speak to the prosecutor" replied the Chief Justice.

"We as public prosecutors and also the attorney of the victim strongly object to the words expressed by the defendant's attorney" the prosecutor said.

"Sell expensive" is unethical when it comes to a child under 17. The victim is 16 years old and she is still in vocational high school. It's only natural that the victim doesn't like being approached by strangers." said the prosecutor.

"Sorry Your Majesty. This client of ours is not a foreigner, he is a teacher teaching at the school where the victim learns. So our client and the victim already know each other." said the defendant's attorney.

"I object to Your Majesty. Your client is a teacher who teaches the victim, your client should educate the victim not ruin his future!"speak out loud the prosecutor.

The prosecutor's remarks led some in the audience to say "that's right! Or agree.agree with the prosecutor's remark."

There is also a nod of his head as a sign of agreeing with the statement from the prosecutor.

"Tuk tuk tuk tuk tuk.." The Chief Judge's hammer was struck a second time.

"I beg you not to make a scene!"said the Chief Justice.

After the second reprimand from the presiding Judge, the atmosphere was again conducive. The trial continues.

"I ask the prosecutor and the defense attorney to continue to create a conducive atmosphere in this courtroom. I remind us this is law enforcement officers, working in accordance with applicable legal procedures not putting forward their respective egos." continued the Chief Justice.

"Your Majesty" said the two lawyers.

"Please continue!"pinta Hakim Chief.

"Your Majesty, what if we present the victim as a witness today. I saw the victim in the court visitor's seat." said the defendant's legal counsel.

"We object to His Majesty." said the prosecutor.

The presiding judge responded to the prosecutor's remarks by raising his right hand as a sign that His Majesty wants to pause for a moment.

The defendant's prosecutor and legal counsel were again seated in their seats. There were anxious faces on both sides. Not only the faces of the two teams but Zaenab's face began to worry. He was not ready to be a witness at today's trial. He was not yet ready to stare back at Mr. Supari, the person who had made him sad, ashamed and languished for long.

The Presiding Judge is in discussion with the Member Judges regarding the idea presented by the defendant's legal counsel.

Five minutes later...

"We...The Judge accepts the idea expressed by the defendant's legal counsel. How's the Prosecutor? Is your client, Miss Zaenab ready to be present in the witness stand today?"pinta Hakim Chief.

The prosecution discussed with its members and the prosecutor held an envelope in his hand.

"Before I present my client, allow me to provide a letter of recommendation from a child psychologist who is under the auspices of the city police to the Assembly of Judges." said the Prosecutor.

"Please Mr. Prosecutor." replied the Chief Justice.

"Thank you."

The Prosecutor walked to the Chief Justice's desk carrying a letter from the child psychologist regarding Zaenab's current situation. After giving the letter, the prosecutor went back to his desk and he stood up while explaining to everyone present at the trial the circumstances of his client (Zaenab).

"Based on a letter from a child psychologist who was on the auspices of the police, Ms. Zaenab experienced Post Traumatic Disorder(PTSD). This trauma usually occurs in victims of sexual abuse. Our clients experience fear, anger, guilt, anxiety and even sadness. This resulted in my client who was the victim of the accused feeling embarrassed and trying to avoid the people around. My client also felt in danger and always experienced anxiety as a result of the actions of the accused. All the conclusions I can convey to His Majesty regarding the circumstances of my client." said the Prosecutor.

"We object that our client should be presented as a witness at noon today" the Prosecutor said.

Please excuse me if I interrupt Your Majesty." said the defendant's attorney.

"Sorry to accept. Please speak." replied the chief judge.

"What if we ask directly to the person concerned. Does Miss Zaenab mind or not being a witness at today's trial? If Miss Zaenab is not willing then this trial will not be completed according to the stipulated time." legal adviser Pak Supari said.

Hearing the words of the defendant's legal counsel, the Chief Justice discussed with the Member Judge again. The prosecutor is anxious about what decision the Judge will make.

"The trial will be delayed for an hour. We ask that the prosecutor can persuade your client, Miss Zaenab, to testify today. But we beg of no coercion from any side." said the presiding judge.

Hearing the request from the Assembly of Judges, Babe looked back at Zaenab's face that did not depart from her mother's tight embrace. Babe could only let out a long sigh and repeatedly rubbed his face violently. Zaki who saw Babe's behavior could only stroke her back as if to say "calm be calm."

"How's the prosecutor? Can you and your team do that?"ask the Chief Judge.

"We'll do our best to Your Majesty" the Prosecutor replied.

"alright. Then we'll meet again in this courtroom in an hour. Good afternoon." said the Chief Justice.

"Tuk tuk tuk" the chief judge's hammering sounded as a sign of the trial in the break.

"His Majesty and his members are welcome to leave the courtroom. Ladies and gentlemen please stand." said the court clerk.

Everyone in the courtroom stood in honor of the Judge.

"The "trial will continue for an hour. Attendees are welcome to leave the courtroom in an orderly manner. Thank you." said the court clerk again.

The defendant's legal adviser and the defendant, Mr. Supari, rushed out of the courtroom through the right side door while the prosecutor walked towards the seat where Babe Rojali, Zaki, Emak Munaroh and Zaenab were seated.

"Assalammualaikum sir.." said the Prosecutor.

"Waalaikumsalam sir prosecutor." replied babe.

"Include us to the new prosecutor. I'm Mr. Tri and this is my team."

"Greetings Mr. Tri..mas.and mba.." said Babe while putting his palms together as a sign of greeting.

"Can we speak in the special room sir.bu."

"Aye would like to.but after the prayer zuhur and lunch alone sir.pity child and bini aye have not eaten."

"If we can order lunch sir. How about when we finish the prayer, we eat together in the room that we have provided."pak Tri.

Babe glanced at my mother's face to ask for their opinion.

"Pigemane, Joh? You want not?"ask babe to mom.

"As for babe, aye join the aje." replied the mother.

Babe then looks at Zaki's face.

"What do you think, Ki?"ask babe to Zaki.

"Aye follow babe aja kyk mother." replied Zaki.

"Et you...! Follow your mother aje!"sahut babe.

"Aye follow ape said the prosecutor aje deh. then aye same child aye want to go to the mosque first to pray zuhur."cap babe.

"Please sir. let Zaenab's mother and sister be here with my team of girls." said Mr. Tri.

"Well, Uncle Prosecutor" replied babe.
