“Thank God

For the favors and tests given

Be thankful to yourself

For his struggle to this day

Don't be troubled

Cause the present, time determinants later.”

5 Years after graduating from SMK Bratajaya.

Japan, 2025

One of the most famous tourist attractions in Japan is located close to the city of Okayama, around where I live. This tourist spot offers eye freshener in the form of a combination of ocean views and artwork. Naoshima is a small island located in Kagawa Prefecture (next to Okayama). Because in addition to presenting artwork, such as other island tours, this place also serves vitamin sea.

Because I had not done Broadcast activities for a long time, after taking a study in Linguistics Department, I took the time to stop by Naoshima. I love art, especially shapes like sculptures, geometric objects and more.

This place also makes me feel like returning to Indonesia after almost four years of my education here. The breeze of the wind blowing and the sound of the pounding waves make a melody that calms the soul. At a glance the shadow about my past, began to appear like a film that is drawn in the mind.

After a sense of nostalgia was satisfied, I went to Honmura Community Hall, a meeting place for residents around Naoshima to organize community events or arts events. Since the place was inaccessible to the general public, I went around around it. It feels very comfortable, the shape is very Japanese and beautiful.

So cool to capture photos of some angle that I just got, accidentally my unusual hand is silent so excited, I nudged the arm of a tourist. His body is tall, I'm afraid he's angry. Because if measured, I'm only as tall as his chest. I was in a hurry to apologize to her.

“Sumimasen ..” lirihku timid. Even though my tongue is still a little muddy when speaking Japanese, but it is not 4 years that has made me accustomed to the conversations of people in Japan, right?

Not getting a response, even though I was already very scared and feeling bad for him, I concluded in my mind that the tourist may not have been fluent in Japanese, so I did not understand my words. For that, I again apologize in the international language version.

“Sorry, Mr. .. ?”

Not long after, the guy I was nudging earlier, turned to me.

I feel choked. The same face I last saw four years ago, standing in front of me with even more firm lines.

The man smiled faintly, his lips still looking red. Not that she wears lipstick, but that's because she's not a smoker like her old friend.

“Koishiteru, Hana.”

And after saying that sentence, my body froze with eyes that began to glaze over. Two words melted together, making me almost cry bitterly if only he had not first pulled my tiny body and hugged it tightly. The roar of his breath that I felt was bent, warm and the sensation tickled my entire nervous body.

Until I realized, that all this time, only his name was still enthroned in the heart. Despite the many obstacles that tested my feelings for her. But even though I was close to another man, in fact his name was too long I let it rest in the heart.
