It tells the story of man-eating Ghouls who live on a budget in Tokyo, Japan.

Tokyo has become a cruel city where fierce ghouls are in the midst of humans.

Inside, Kaneki Ken changes his life after meeting Rize Kamishiro (Yuu Aoi) who is a ghoul.

Attacked by a ghoul (Yuu Aoi ), Kaneki apparently was lucky enough not to be preyed upon.

However, he must be operated on and get an organ implantation from Rize, the ghoul who attacked him.

Kaneki's inner debate when he tries hard to maintain his human nature, he must accept the fact that his body is no longer the same.

Kaneki became half human and half ghoul.

Ken Kaneki still has to adjust to his new life as half human and half ghoul.

Ken Keneki initially rejected the change in him that he had turned out to be a ghoul, unwilling to eat human flesh.

But on the other hand there is no other way for him to survive than to eat human flesh.

Then..

He meets Touka Kirishima and works at the Anteiku coffee shop with ghouls in the shop who help him deal with his new life.

He was also taught to use kagume, a weapon only possessed by a ghoul made from his own body.

And that is the way the ghoul can attack and defend using his own weapon (Kagumenya ).

On the other side.

Kaneki and his ghoul friends also try to cover up his identity as a ghoul, so as not to be known by humans and The Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG) is a special organization formed to deal with ghouls.

Then...

Kaneki's life becomes threatened, after he meets Tsukiyama (who is also a ghoul), who is so obsessed with eating Kaneki.

Slowly, Tsukiyama tries to persuade Kaneki to get into his trap.

After Kaneki learns the truth, various ways are done by him to evade and fight Tsukiyama.

However, the problems that occur are increasingly complex.

His friends were also caught up in this fight.

Ken Keneki and his friends struggle to defeat Tsukiyama.

After he escaped Tsukiyama's clutches with great difficulty, Ken Kenekipun was confronted with Yamori.

One day when his consciousness returned after a great battle.

Ken Keneki finds himself tormented by Yamori, a sadistic ghoul who likes to torture fellow ghouls, leading Kaneki to finally accept that he is a ghoul.

Season 1, indeed revolves around the introduction of the main character Tokyo Ghoul which is the focus of the story.

Then season 2.

Kaneki Ken's journey as a half-ghoul man continues, with Keneki now receiving a terrible part of himself.

Kaneki joins as a member of Aogiri no Ki (an evil Ghoul organization), which gives Kaneki a mission to take over the Ward in Tokyo.

And left his friends who he used to work at the coffee shop.

Not only that, he also has a mission that is to release prisoners and also kill CCGs so that Kagumenya strength increases.

Kaneki develops a power within himself that he cannot control.

Made himself like a beast when his monster instincts took over.

So it can be said that Kaneki experienced a revolution after becoming a member of Aogiri No Ki, where he became one of the most powerful ghouls.
