Prologues

Monday 08 August 2016, New York City, 18.30

Ray: "Ughhhhhh.... God, I'm glad I could go back home again. At least no one here will yell at me or fight with me or whatever they want."

Ray looked at his coffee table and saw a pile of bills on the table.

Ray: "Well, get back home after a shitty day at work in my apartment. Let's see how much money that vulture wants from me again."

Ray walks to his couch and sits down and picks up the first bill from that pile.

Ray: "Let's see how much money I still have in that fucking hospital"

Ray Williams is a 28-year-old American from New York City. Born and raised in the Big Apple, Ray never knew his parents. His mother left him at birth and gave him up for adoption. He was never good at making friends which caused him to basically have no friends for most of his life.

She was adopted in many homes and kicked out of almost everything and at the age of 18 she was forced out of the orphanage. The school has always been a parade of detentions, suspensions, and eventually expulsions for Ray for a variety of reasons. Starting from brawl at school, cheating during exams, to yelling and cursing at teachers.

At the age of 18, Ray was forced to stand on his own two feet and for the first time in his life things seemed to improve.

At the age of 22 things go from good to hell in a matter of seconds. Ray was looking for something to eat after a long day of work, when suddenly two men barged in with guns and started robbing the place. Ray at the time was behind the store looking at microwave food wrappers for the house and wearing earphones with his back facing the robber at the time. When one of the robbers saw him, he started yelling at him to fall to the ground and give all his money and phone to him. Ray does not hear it and is just about to turn around when the robbers next to him accidentally shoot him and hit him in the stomach while pointing his gun at Ray for him to give him the money.

After Ray was shot, he collapsed from the pain and woke up a few hours later in the hospital in the ICU.

Because Ray did not show up at work, he lost his job and after that he also lost his apartment. Because he's burdened with huge hospital bills, he's, his credit rating drops and he ends up having to accept a bad job that doesn't pay almost half of his old job and a barely functioning apartment full of cockroaches and with a lazy landlord. which costs Ray to hire because of his poor credit rating.

Ray: "I still have to pay $225,000 to that damn vulture from the hospital and the damn landlord raised his rent again this month. Sometimes I think it'd be better if I died that day than all this shit."

After reading the hospital bills, Ray got up and went to his room. The only place in the world where he could have peace and stop and escape from misery was his life. Ray has been an otaku ever since he was kicked out of an orphanage. He found that otaku's lifestyle was a perfect fit for him.

She has always loved anime, manga, and, web novels etc from the first time he saw Naruto and he was instantly able to get in touch with the MC and started watching more and more until he was hooked on everything related to the otaku. Some of his favorite anime include Naruto, DBZ, Fate-series, Fairy Tail. One of her favorite novels is Against the Gods and she reads every chapter released. He is fascinated by the MC's determination and drive to keep pushing despite all the obstacles and all the terrible people who inhabit that world. But at the same time he also hates the blatant murders MCs commit against innocent people because they are linked to MC targets. Sometimes he hopes he will become one of those isekai heroes and go to another world and become an OP character who will have the harem of the most beautiful women and become an unstoppable warrior.

That night after Ray went to sleep, a short circuit occurred with the cable of his house that was damaged because the owner never bothered to fix it. Shortly after his apartment caught fire and Ray was still in his bed when smoke started entering his room and he started waking up and choking.

Ray: "Cough, Cough, Cough. What the hell's going on? Where did this smoke come from? Is there a fire somewhere?"

Ray gets out of bed and opens his bedroom door only to see his living room has become hell. Turning around, he tried to climb out of his bedroom window but he collapsed from inhaling too much smoke. As Ray lay on the ground, his life flashed before his eyes and knew that the end had come for him.

Ray: 'Will I die this way. After so many years in this shitty life, I finally met my end. I just hope that there is a God when I die, maybe I can fulfill my wish and kick Hahaha's ass'

After that Ray lost consciousness and soon died. What Ray doesn't know is that there is a God and this God will offer Ray a chance of a lifetime.
