Chapter 8. Jakarta City

...<•••>...

Lilis thought that when she was on this ship, she would leave soon but, apparently, she wasn't. Long enough Lilis waited until finally a voice sounded making Lilis stare in all directions trying to find the origin of the sound that sounded.

[An announcement, made to all prospective passengers of the ocean liner that the ship will leave in 15 minutes.]

[It is expected that all passengers will immediately raise the goods on board and ensure that there are no items left behind because the journey will soon begin and the anchor will also be raised soon.]

[And we ask all passengers to make sure their belongings have been put in the storage of the ship's goods, so and thank you]

The sound made Syifa breathe out a long breath. In the room he rested his head on a wooden wall. Only he was in this room.

The silent atmosphere he now felt. From this room he could hear the voice of conversation from uncle Somar and his two friends. I don't know why they never stopped talking. Lilis had no idea what they were discussing, but Lilis was also not interested in listening to their conversation.

"Mother, Lilis is gone, yes."

"Lilis will go to the city of Jakarta to work in a restaurant."

"If Lilis already had money, Lilis promised to go home to renovate Mother's tomb so that Mother's last house is much more beautiful."

"Lilis promise, pray for Lilis, yes, Mom! I hope Lilis gets a lot of sustenance there."

"Excuse Lilis also for leaving the goats relics of the Father but Lilis sure Kang Arul certainly can keep the goats relics of the Father."

"Especially Lilis tau, kang Arul is a good person and he will definitely help Lilis. You know, if Arul's kang is a good guy."

"One more time please pray for Lilis, yes, Mom!"

"Lilis is leaving."

...<•••>...

The day passed, the ship that sailed over the vast sea finally arrived also in the port of Tandjungperiuk. The door to exit the ship was opened. Passengers also step out of the boat. The luggage carriers also unceasingly stepped up and down the ship to help the passengers carry their belongings down there.

"Came on!"

Uncle Somar's voice sounded. Lilis was a little surprised when the man's voice sounded and the door of the room he slept in last night opened revealing the figure of uncle Somar who was now holding the doorknob.

"Let's get out now!" besought.

Lilis had not had time to answer the two friends of her Uncle quickly lifted the bags containing Lilis' clothes and took her out.

"Uncle, don't take it! Let Lilis take it!" reprimanded however, the two friends of his Uncle did not stop the step.

They just came out until they disappeared.

"Let's get out Lilis! We need to hurry. Our journey is still far away," he explained making Lilis inevitably have to obey.

He slowly stepped out the door but, just as he was approaching the figure of Uncle Somar suddenly held his wrist tightly and the two eyes of Lilis were rounded.

He was so shocked by Uncle Somar's hand on his wrist.

Lilis gulped her saliva. Somehow the aura of uncle Somar seemed to change after this ship arrived at the port in Jakarta.

Lilis stepped out of the ship making Lilis look in all directions where people were busy there.

"Where are we going now Uncle?"

"Don't talk to Lilis much! Come along! We'll be there soon" he said as he continued to pull Lilis.

Lilis could only step up to follow Uncle Somar who kept pulling him. Not knowing where he would be taken by Uncle Somar who continued to look towards the road with a sharp look.

The two friends of his Uncle stepped in front of him. From here Lilis could see it. They were carrying bags and some other items.

Lilis's steps came to a standstill when Uncle Somar had been next to the black car. Lilis does not know who owns this car.

"Hurry in Lilis!" his curvy in a cold tone while opening the car door wide made Lilis able to see the figure of a man in black with a distended stomach in there.

His mustache is also thick with a sharp eye highlight and a cigarette in his mouth. The smoke soaring high made Lilis become horrified herself. Lilis doesn't know why she looks like a criminal.

"Let's get in!"

"But where are we going?" tanya Lilis was worried.

"To place a restaurant. Have you forgotten?" he clearly reminded then without waiting for a response from Lilis, he pushed Lilis slowly to make Lilis inevitably could only step his feet into the car.

Lilis sat on the chair. He stared fearfully at the figure of the man holding the steering wheel. I don't know why they all look like criminals. Uncle Somar sat in front while his two uncle friends Somar, Tomang and Jamang immediately sat next to Lilis.

Both pinching Lilis on the right and left sides made Lilis feel scared. Especially when he saw the appearance of Uncle Somar and his 3 friends. They were all dressed in black, a chain of necklaces around his neck, a creepy tattoo and a cigarette between his hands.

They're all creepy. Well, Lilis seemed to see a criminal figure who was kidnapping someone.

Lilis shook her head. Impossible, uncle Somar could not possibly have any evil intentions. Why would he think of something so bad at a time like this.

Uncle Somar is already good for having the intention to help him find a job in the city then why should he think of such a bad thing regarding uncle Somar.

A person's attitude and behavior cannot be measured by appearance, right? If a person's appearance looks bad will his heart also be bad?

"Hurry way!" pinta Uncle Somar then without further ado the man beside Uncle Somar exhaled smoke from his mouth after sucking deeply a cigarette in between his fingers.

The man threw a cigarette out the window of the car. Turn the lock and plunge the gas away from the harbor.

The car drove across the paved road. Vehicles are so crowded now. Lilis could not even count the number of vehicles that were passing and mixed in a long traffic jam. The tall buildings bear witness to how the congestion is currently occurring.

From here Lilis could see those tall buildings. Trees rarely grow around here. The atmosphere was also very hot making Lilis feel sultry yet, in contrast to the two men who were beside her. They look perfectly still, their bodies muscular and a little fatty. They really look like criminals.

Again and again Lilis shook her head. Don't think about it, Lilis! They're all good people! Uncle Somar is good and of course his two best friends and the man driving the steering wheel is a good man too.
