“We stopped here for a while,” pinta Ana on Thomas who is currently pushing his wheelchair. Thomas complied and they stopped in the shade of a large pink-flowered tree, there was a park bench under the tree so that Thomas could sit there while he sat in his wheelchair.
Ana looks busy looking at the surrounding scenery so that the first few minutes they are there, they just sit in silence.
Thomas himself did not dare to start the conversation, and preferred to take a look at the beautiful garden scenery. Although of course he will not be able to look at the beauty of the park calmly while there is Ana who just fell silent beside him.
The clouds looked bright this morning. Beautiful colorful blooming flowers bring peace. The breeze carrying the fragrance as fragrant as blossoming flowers made the two of them momentarily lulled with the aroma.
Ana inhaled the fragrant aroma deeply. He needed to relax his body before starting this important conversation with Thomas.
“Thank you for saving me,” Ana said starting a conversation. He turned to the man next to him for a moment before looking forward. There was an elderly female patient passing by in front of them, the woman sitting in the wheelchair was being pushed affectionately by her partner. It seems that the old couple loved each other even though their age was twilight.
Thomas was momentarily glued to the sight, would he grow old with Ana. But of course he did not dare to hope much, even though he had been given the opportunity to name his daughter, but what about Ana's feelings? He could not force his feelings on Ana. He would have been willing if today Ana had asked him to stay away from the girl and look after her daughter from a distance.
Ana immediately held Thomas' hand when the man did not answer her words. “Thank you for saving me,” Ana repeated her words.
Thomas momentarily gasped in surprise as Ana held his hand, her heart pounding, very rarely the moment Ana touched him. But when Ana thanked him, Thomas immediately brushed Ana off. His heart suddenly froze. Someone will say thank you when you leave, right! Inner sad. “You don't have to thank me. I did it because of my obligation. I've even neglected to look after you and Baby Angel.”
“I know it's not true. If it wasn't for you, there wouldn't be Baby Angel or me right now. Yes, although I am not sure if my life will last long this time,” Ana recalls. When he found out his kidneys were having problems, he had to reveal all his teeth before it was too late.
“I've sued them because their negligence put your life in danger,” Thomas said.
Ana turns to the man beside her, wanting to hold Thomas' hand again, but she is afraid of being pushed over by him. “Hey, no need to sue them. You should have helped them raise a hospital on the island so that there would be no more victims like me. You certainly know their working hours are too long until they are exhausted. They saved me anyway. Please don't do it,” pinta Ana.
“But, because of them anyway, I can lose you and Baby Angel,” Thomas.
“Aish, why did you become vindictive,” Ana said scolding Thomas. “I just have to wash my blood regularly. I'm it's okay. I've been able to meet you and Baby Angel, I've been happy.”
“Are you happy to meet me?” ask Thomas to make sure. Today was so much of a surprise, he had not gotten his heart used to it at all.
“Of course!” answer Ana quickly. He had been thinking about his feelings for quite a long time. He had known Thomas long before he knew Theo. Honestly he had liked Thomas from the first sight, the man was so kind to him, helped him, always there for him. But, he had to bury his feelings into a sense of affection for brother. Of course because Thomas is the brother of his best friend. Then Theo came into his life. Theo took care of him earnestly, giving him an experience he had never experienced before. But Theo's biggest mistake Ana couldn't forgive was that Theo didn't believe her that night.
Perhaps his current decision is somewhat affected by Soni's words about Thomas having trouble after that night. But apart from that, does love need a reason? Seems not. He needed no other reason to accept Thomas. The man had shown everything he could do without being asked, the man had gone through endless regret, the man just kept clinging to him even though he had rejected him so many times, and that man saved his life and Baby Angel's.
The man did not leave his bed for a second when he was sick, the man often cried silently while waiting for him and immediately smiled when he was awake, the man had shown all his love, his love, how could he ignore it? Although Thomas' fault was as high as a mountain, he still could not hate him. Instead his love for the man became so deep over time. And today he saw this man beside him crying. As Thomas took a bit of time in the room before he did the dialysis, he asked the nurse to pause in front of the closed door. He never saw the man cry. Was she so important that Thomas cried so many times for her? It seemed that he could not wait any longer to tell her his pent-up feelings before this man became more and more immersed in his love alone.
Ana recalls the moment when Thomas was so happy to name his daughter. To be honest it was the last test for Thomas, it turned out that the man had without a doubt prepared a name for his daughter, not even imposing that name even though he was unconscious. Thomas respected him so much, how could he not?
“I'm happy to meet you,” said Ana. He looked at Thomas with a sweet smile.
Thomas immediately patted her cheeks trying to wake her from a dream. “May I?” said itself.
“You are not dreaming,” Ana said as she ventured to touch Thomas's arm. He hoped this time Thomas would not pull his arm off.
Thomas immediately turned and crouched down in front of Ana, his hand holding Ana's hand while looking at the woman in front of him with a slightly confused and hopeful look, he said, “you don't play me anymore, tell me what you mean?”
“You want me to say what?” ask Ana. He still teases Thomas.
“Oh, God!” thomas was frustrated. “You know exactly what I mean.”
“I don't know what you mean,” said Ana pretended. “You want me to say what it is?”
Thomas is impatient. He immediately held Ana's hand and looked at the woman with all earnestness, “tell me that you love me.”
Ana looked back at the man kneeling in front of her. “I love you,” he said.
Thomas glazed over when he heard it. Didn't he hear wrong? “please say one more time,” the door.
“I love you.”
“Please once again,” pinta Thomas. He still could not believe what he heard.
“Thomas, I love you," said Ana. He still did not take his eyes off Thomas. It is hard to believe his words. Must have been very heavy for that man all along.
Thomas hugged Ana while crying. “I love you too,” he said in between sobs.
Ana rubbed Thomas' back to calm him down. “Hey, don't hug me too tightly, my stitches hurt,” Ana said.
“Oh, sorry, sorry,” Thomas said as he let go of his embrace. His guilty face flashed a smile. The sweetest smile that Ana will always remember until she is old.
