Chapter 63: Hatsumode And The Beginning of the Year

Earlier the year-end party that went not in accordance with the plan because suddenly very heavy rain flushed the village, russel and his friends were forced to stay overnight at Rafael's house because they could not return to their home.

The night has passed, and the year has changed, January 1 at 5 am, the cold air makes Wisang wake up from his sleep, dim light emerging from the sun sign curtains will rise soon. Seeing that, Wisang immediately woke up all his friends to watch the sunrise in this new year.

Then Russell, Michael, and Wisang went straight out of the guest room, they woke the others up to see the sunrise together.

"Oi, Mik, Raf wake up!" whisang said from the front of their room.

"Ayaka, Miko wake up, we want to see the sunrise together," said Russell.

"Hmm? Okay. wait a minute, yeah," said Ayaka from inside the room.

After waiting for a while, Russell, Michael, and Wisang, had already been outside the house to see the sunrise. Soon Ayaka, Miko, Mikael, and Rafael followed out of the house as well.

"You are here first" said Rafael.

"Finally get up too you guys, come here and there," said Michael.

"Oh yes, by the way happy new year, everyone" Russell said.

"Yes, happy new year too" said Ayaka.

"Hmm. no way yes, soon we will go to class," said Rafael.

After seeing the sunrise, they had a free time of 3 hours before going hatsumode to the temple in their village. Hearing that Mikael immediately went back to sleep, while the others chatted together in the living room. A while passed, finally the clock had shown at 8 am, they were all breakfast and getting ready to visit the temple.

"Udah is ready, so we can go now" said Rafael.

"Where is the temple?" wisang.

They walked together to follow Raphael until they finally arrived at the temple, when they got there they just went around and looked at the temple because of the different beliefs they profess, in the temple also looks very quiet and there are no people who visit it. A few moments later, they returned to Raphael's house and gathered there.

"Yes, it's a good temple" said Rafael.

"Yes, the architecture is good" Russell said.

"Hmm.. Now what do we do?" Mikael.

"Before going home, let's eat mochi with soup together" said Rafael.

"Well, thanks Raf," said Michael.

"Thank you Raf" said Wisang.

"Yes, have a good meal, everyone" Ayaka said.

After that they enjoyed the mochi and soup together while chatting about the days to come, the calm and peaceful atmosphere made a comfortable impression. Satisfied with chatting and playing, finally Russell, Ayaka, Miko, Mikael, Michael, and Wisang went home to their respective homes, and closed their new year party at Rafael's house for a day this night.

On January 3, Russell and his friends will perform oshogashu at their homes. In the morning, Russell woke up early and prepared to clean his house.

About 3 hours had passed, Russell was exhausted, but his hard work paid off with his house looking very neat and clean.

The year-end party that ended in heavy rain did not make Russell and his friends give up just like that to celebrate. They stayed at Rafael's house, waiting for the next morning and performing hatsumode at the temple near the village.

In the morning, Wisang woke up around 5 am. Seeing a good opportunity because the sun was about to rise soon, Wisang immediately woke Russell and Michael, and the three of them went straight to the other room and tried to wake the others.

After they all woke up, they immediately went out of the house and sat together while observing a very beautiful sunrise, while chatting about how their daily life after this new year, was, and also about the activities they will do next.

Satisfied with watching the sunrise, it seems they still have about 3 more hours to get ready before they do hatsumode, Mikael immediately uses it to go back to sleep. The others chatted and finally made breakfast.

Around 8am, Mikael had woken up and they had breakfast, finally they immediately walked towards the temple near their house and did a hatsumode. After the hatsumode was finished, they returned to Rafael's house and ate the mochi and soup together again. They played and chatted for a while, and finally went home to each other.

Two days passed, precisely on January 3, they did the last activity of their new year series, namely oshogatsu in their respective homes, they clean their house at the beginning of the year for a few days which is part of an old tradition.

Such is the series of end-of-year activities Russell and his friends, really exciting and fun.
