Chapter 68: Kyoto: Arashiyama (Day 2)

The 2nd Day of Study Tour to Kyoto begins!

As usual the morning started from the inn, this time Russell woke up the earliest, followed by himself waking up his other friends. Then the school staff who returned to deliver some food for breakfast before starting the study tour today.

After breakfast and chatting at the dinner table, one by one they began to bathe in turn, and prepare themselves. Finally, at about 9am, they had all been called to leave the inn immediately, and made their way to Kyoto Station.

"I want to go to the monkey park" said Wisang.

Their destination today is Arashiyama, an area in Kyoto that is quite popular with its bamboo and monkey forest tours, this time the class 2 study tour group had the opportunity to visit some of the famous tourist attractions there, first, they will take the train from Kyoto Station to Saga-Arashiyama Station which takes about 39 minutes. After that each destination will be released, they can choose between 2 places intended for their study tour, namely Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and Arashiyama Monkey Park. It just so happened that this time the Russel group chose Arashiyama Bamboo Forest as the place they would first visit.

Arriving at the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, they were immediately amazed by the sight before them. The vast expanse of bamboo forest that seemed to bring them into the dream world.

After they fed the monkeys there, and toured along the park, they began to feel hungry. So after getting out of Monkey Park, they immediately looked for streetfood around there, and bought some food.

"It's not wrong not far from here there is a pretty good dango shop" said Michael.

"OK," said Wisang.

"May, let's go there" said Rafael.

Arriving at the dango shop, again accidentally, Russell and his group met with the Ayaka group, then Russell immediately invited them to take a boat together.

After eating the dango, they all immediately headed to the lake and rented 5 boats, because one boat can be boarded by 2 people, but when the others have got a partner to ride the boat, the boat can be rented, there was even a debate between Ayaka and Sumire.

The 2nd day of the Study Tour in Kyoto has finally begun!!

After previously they all visited Fushimi Inari, saw the typical Japanese architecture there, then took pictures at Senbon Torii, and also did not forget to taste typical culinary Fushimi Inari, such as Kitsune udon, inari sushi, senbei, and others.

This time Russell and his friends and the 2nd class study tour group will visit Arashiyama, there are 2 main tourist attractions that they will visit, namely Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and Monkey Park Arashiyama. Then after that, they will have free hours to explore the surrounding area or directly return to the inn.

Waking up in the morning, Russell and his group headed to Kyoto Station and took a train to Saga-Arashiyama Station. Then from there they will walk to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.

This time they did not meet the Ayaka group accidentally on the way there, so Russell and his group only five of them explored the vastness of the bamboo forest. They take pictures and walk while enjoying the beautiful nature.

After quite satisfied walking among the lush bamboo forest, Russell and his group immediately headed to their second tourist spot, Arashiyama Monkey Park. There Wisang experienced a funny incident, where when he was eating a banana, a monkey even approached him and took his banana, a little upset, but they all ended up laughing together.

The time shows at 15:00, according to the plan Russell and his group will ride a boat on the lake, and they happen to meet also with the group Ayaka accidentally. In the end they decided to join forces and take a boat ride together.

Satisfied around the lake using a boat, it seems they are getting hungry, so they immediately hunt street food located not far from where they are now. They buy a lot of food and eat together.

In the afternoon, it seems that they are quite tired of their activities during the study tour this time. So Rafael invites them all to unwind by soaking in an onsen not far from there.
