As pretty as a Butterfly

As pretty as a Butterfly
Chapter 36. Buddies.

Jelita looked at the mother who was sound asleep, she kissed the mother's forehead, then covered the weak body that was lying to stay warm in the cold room AC.

"Mother, good night .." said Jelita and stared at the clock on the wall. "It's still 8 p.m., where can I sleep at this hour" he told himself and stared at the exit.

Jelita also intends to go out of the room to just spend time. "Maybe I can sit there for a while," Jelita thought as she recalled a bench in a park near the pond.

Jelita then took a long cloth to cover her body so as not to be hit by the night wind. Wearing his bad glasses and let his shoulder hair unravel freely.

He stepped out for sure, then sat down on a park bench close to his current room.

Jelita stared at the movements of a group of fish that swam here and there carefully and at once it was also implied in the mind about his future. Jelita pondered while thinking back, about her ideals.

Continuing to stare at the reflection of her face on the surface of the water, Jelita began to ask herself. "Can I achieve my goals, can I succeed? Can I not disappoint the big lady?" Jelita sighed.

"You can do it!" michael exclaimed, making Jelita immediately flabbergasted while looking at one face that had just appeared on the surface of the water.

He looked at the man who was sitting next to him.

"You can do it" he exclaimed once more.

"Sir Michael, what are you doing here?" his tan was stammered, feeling shocked when he was visited by the son of the owner of the house. Pell-looking.

Michael smelled a smile. "I was looking for some fresh air, happened to meet you here," he replied, leaning on the head of the chair and stretching out his legs in a comfortable position.

"Have night, what are you doing here? what about your mother's condition?" michael asked with a straight forward look.

"I'm sitting waiting for hours of sleep. My mother ... she had little progress, perhaps because her mind had calmed down now," Jelita responded tightly embracing her shroud.

"Thank God, then why do you still look anxious?" ask Michael back.

Jelita shook her head faintly and breathed her rough breath. "I just don't know if I can make it later. Can I reach my goals? I'm just afraid the big madam will be disappointed with me if I don't make it later." Jelita looked back at the pool water.

Michael smile. "You must have succeeded .. My Mamy's private foster son always succeeded."

Jelita looked back. "How can you be so sure of me? I'm not good at lessons."

Michael let out a small sigh. "Do you know Jason?" asked Michael and Jelita nodded slowly. "Know."

"Before, he also thought like that. Can't do anything and is afraid I'll let my Mamy down."

"Is that? then ..." Jelita began to put her body aside, wanting to hear more stories from Michael.

"He was always pessimistic, afraid he would fail. But Mamyku always reassures her, always encouraging. Growing confidence, until in the end Kak Jason was able to achieve his goal of becoming a successful architect" Michael replied.

"Is it really like that?" jelita and Michael asked. "Really! not only him, there are also many foster children in the Mamy foundation who have been successful and have walked their own streets."

"So you think I can succeed like them?" jelita and Michael asked immediately, "You can do it, you have to be sure of yourself."

"You're right Mr ... Thank you," Jelita replied.

"Don't call me sir, just call me Michael or Mike."

"Allah ... Michael. Ah it feels strange," said Jelita felt not used to.

Michael smelled a smile. "Yes from now on you have to get used to it. Okay." Okay."

"God ..." They both fell silent, and Jelita began to ask Michael, "Hm ... How was the atmosphere at college, after I quit my job?"

Michael sighed, "It's normal, there's nothing different," he replied and looked at Jelita who looked down. "Why are you asking like that?"

"It's okay, I'm just asking. Do those who dislike me feel happy after I leave?"

Jelita looked towards Michael. "What ... Do you also feel happy, after hearing I quit working from there?" jelita asked, making Michael look at her. In the end, the two of them met each other.

Blast of the night wind that blew, scattering a few strands of Jelita's hair to clean from his face. Accompanied by the reflection of a beam of moonlight and also under the lights of the garden that lined up, making their faces equally visible. They were silent for a moment looking at each other up close.

"What do you mean? ... Wh who? i. .. I don't feel that way at all. I mean .. yes want you to work there or not, it doesn't make any difference to me." Michael immediately rolled his gaze in another direction.

Jelita smiled a little. "That's it."

"Yes, that's how it is," Michael retorted only glancing at Jelita with the tail of his eyes.

Jelita snorted, "I think you're just like them, hating me half to death. I didn't want to talk or be close to my low status, but I was wrong. Thank you .. At least you still think of me as a human being."

"What are you talking about, I just don't have the heart. Especially after knowing you're working for your mother's medical expenses" Michael replies.

"So, if I'm looking for money, it's not for my mother's treatment. You're still gonna keep working on me until I'm fired and it's hard?" jelita and Michael asked immediately.

"Not to be discussed again, it's over. You have your own path and all you have to think about now is to think about your future" Michael said.

Jelita nodded faintly, "You're right ... I have to think about my future and try to forget everything."

Michael gave a smile and looked at Jelita who was still sitting looking at the fish in the pond. "It's late, I have to go back. Otherwise, Mamy would have scolded me. You should also go into the room, here a lot of mosquitoes and the night wind is not good for health." Michael then turned around.

"Michael ...."

"Hit ..."

"Please don't tell your college friend if I'm staying at your house."

"Why?" ask Michael.

"I just don't want them to think badly of me, and I also want to be able to calm down in learning without any distractions, so can you keep this a secret from them. Especially your boyfriend," Jelita replied.

"Daughter? what do you mean Floren?" ask Michael and he's grieving. "Sih he's not my girlfriend, nor a friend."

"He seems to like you a lot" Jelita said.

Michael shakes. "It's not just him, but all the girls there like me. Even shamelessly snatched each other away," Michael retorted and then snorted in annoyance.

"That's great, at least you have friends" Jelita said.

Michael turned around and walked over he smiled flatly and said, "I don't have any friends there and don't want to be friends either, I don't even have a good conversation with anyone there."

"You don't want to be friends with them? Why? ... "ask Jelita and Michael just quietly do not answer.

Michael continued walking and Jelita immediately stood up. He looked at Michael's back who was walking away. Jelita took a deep breath and ventured to speak.

"Michael .. If so, do you want to be friends with me?" asked Jelita and at once Michael stopped his steps.

He looked back where Jelita was, Michael then smiled. "The one who can make me want to talk, he's my friend" Michael said.

Jelita. "What does that mean? does that mean he already thinks of me as his friend." Jelita smiled, it was enough to spend the night, she went inside to rest.
