Chapter 55: The Explorer Base

“Unclaimed territory No.38?”

Su Ping knew that 500 or so unclaimed territories around the world had a designated number. Unclaimed territory No. 38 must have been discovered a long time ago, given the small number.

"Yes." Yeah." Fan Yujing nodded and continued, “Unclaimed territory No.38 is Class B territory. Throughout history, there have been several Beast Kings found but all of them have been annihilated. Currently, there are only traces of advanced pets.”

Su Ping nodded.

Even the general public knows about the classification of unclaimed areas.

In general, there are five classes labeled ABCDEF, representing five different levels of danger.

Among the five, unclaimed Class A, B, and C regions are unstable regions. They become unclaimed territory due to the frequent appearance of space fissures.

As for the territory of Class D and Class E, the former became empty after the war. Nuclear radiation and mutated germs abound in the area. Many of the Astral Pets that live there are infected by germs. Plagues and large-scale diseases will break out. That is why such areas are isolated and marked as deserted areas.

Su Ping intended to seek confirmation, “I heard that middle-level and advanced pets often visit unclaimed Class B regions. Is that true?"

Class B Unclaimed territory is rather dangerous. At the very least, the newly graduated battle pet warriors were not qualified to leave. Those new graduates will have to go to areas that Class C does not claim or even Class E areas to explore and train in. If their performance is exceptional, after three to five years, they can be assigned to areas that Class B does not claim.

After running down the highway for about an hour, they finally arrived at the border of the base city.

Few people live on the border. The buildings were far apart from each other, but the road here was wide and sturdy.

Su Ping looked up from the window of his car. It was a tall wall that stood towering like a giant.

It was the basic city border wall.

That wall could fend off the invasion of the wild Astral Pets, and more importantly, the Beast King invasion!

“This is very high ..”

The view he saw on television was completely different after looking at the wall in person. Su Ping was amazed at the walls; his height was at least two to three hundred meters. This is an amazing project!

On the highway is an asphalt road surrounded by weeds and wilderness on its sides.

In front of them was the exit leading out of the city. Lights light the way.

As they drove out of town, there would occasionally be cars driving in opposite directions, passing through them.

“They are adventurers.” Fan Yujing glanced at them and explained, "They didn't pass the exam to join any team after graduation, and had to work for a private company as pet fighters."

Su Ping nodded.

There are two paths to pet warrior combat. The first is to join a team of explorers.

The second is working in a private company.

Soon, they arrived at the exit of the city.

Soldiers were stationed there day and night. When Fan Yujing and the team arrived, more than a dozen people set their sights on the party.

"Inspection." An army officer stepped up.

Fan Yujing lowered the window and gave a medal with the head of the black wolf.

The army officer stood up in awe and immediately saluted, then he let Fan Yujing pass by, not even looking into the vehicle.

The road to leave the city was extended to tens of meters. You can imagine how big the wall is.

The ground outside the base city was overgrown with shrubs.

Such vacant land could not be seen inside the base city, except for the shanty town on the outermost edge of the city where some of the children lived.

But the desert had several roads leading in different directions.

The roads are not as clean or intact as in the city, but do not pose a difficulty for SUVs. Fan Yujing chose the path, rushed over, and arrived at the fortress after more than half an hour.

The fortress was built with huge stones; there was an ordinary building inside.

“This is the base for unclaimed territory No. 38.”

Fan Yujing parked his car outside the base and got off with Su Ping and Li Ying. Fan Yujing presented his medal and they were allowed to enter unhindered.

It was more like a market in the city.

It's lively.

It was night time, but there was a street light illuminating the place. The area has a power supply.

There were shabby stalls along the way, displaying strange items; strange-looking plants, young children, and even eggs.

At the sight of those eggs, Su Ping remembered the eggs he had.

He wondered if the eggs had hatched ...

“The stuff we obtained during the exploration will be sold here and on the explorer trading website as well,” Fan Yujing smiled and said, “Being an explorer is a risky option but also a lucrative job. If you are lucky, you can make in one mission what the general public should spend a lifetime to make it happen.”

Su Ping nodded. He had little interest in becoming an explorer.

Su Ping blurted out his question, "Will he slow us down if he comes with us?"
