At Least I’M Free

At Least I’M Free
VI

“What less than me mas?! Why are you doing that thing?!"

" Aarrgghhhhh! It's noisy! I am tired of this family. I better go!"*

"Wait for! Our son still needs his father! You want to leave him?"*

"Curtain! Come to think of it, how could I have a child as weird as him. At most it's the child of your affair with another man right?!"*

"Good shit!"*

The echoes of the quarrel were boisterous creeping towards the stairs, until arriving inside the room measuring 3x3 meters. There he saw a young boy reading a book. At least he ignored the sound of ripples of broken things, cries and anger coming from below. Cowering over his bed, the 8-year-old propped up his chin while occasionally turning the pages of Vladimir Nabokov's novel in his grasp. In his heart he wondered why his father so loved the thread full of rotten beauty intoxicating in this book. He also did not really understand the desire to express himself that the great main character was glorifying. Stranger and surreal, the memory will not be erased, just like the quarrel of his parents that night.

"Eh crazy! That's Ian, right?"

"Yes, the English teacher!"

"The news is in Semalem! What kind of conspiracy is this?! The same builder of his club room was both burned..."

Arvin raised his face, staring at the listless entire class that was noisy because his school entered the midnight news that was famous for reports of tragic incidents in the country. Arvin yawned widely, after sleeping while hugging the table for almost an hour the topic that people were talking about still revolved around the same discussion.

"If the cake gini.. mending entertained aja ga heh.." murmured Arvin while massaging his dizzy temple.

With many teachers who are not present and lack of advanced information, Arvin feels that the school is quite overwhelmed in dealing with problems. Though he wanted to go home as soon as possible, in addition to ineffective learning he also felt sick.

Fortunately Arvin was sitting on the back bench so few people would bother him. He limply returned to soak his face between the elbows while closing his eyes. For now, the dream world feels more plausible than reality. But it seems that desire has not been granted because a soft touch suddenly caressed her hair.

"Hey, you ain't papa?"

The half-whispering voice successfully made Arvin again raise his head and find a sincere worried look was highlighting him.

"Lylia...?"

"Badan lo very hot, to UKS aja yuk so it is better to rest. There's a heat-lowering drug in there, too." Lilya swiftly helped Arvin stand up.

"Ciee... The couple of this class mo where are the two?" The cheers of one of the disciples were greeted by the cheers of the other students.

"Dissipated..." Arvin looked puffed up but had no strength to fight back.

Meanwhile, Lilya even like to enjoy it. "Iri said boss!" Timpal Lilya while still leading Arvin to the door.

"Lu ya.." muttered Arvin in a weak voice.

"Hehe! Sorry sorry" said Lilya while continuing to sweep Arvin down the corridor.

However, after a while passed, Lilya's expression turned serious as if she was thinking of something important.

"Why.... You never told me that Ian sir was your sack?" Finally the question was asked.

"Haha why should I say it too? and again you never have." Arvin laughed loudly, while Lilya stopped her steps and stared intently at her best friend.

"He died, Arvin. Yesterday the school abis disbanded the police came to your house, right? though already know, but the malemnya lo even do not know what\-nothing and me to the TKP." Emotions begin to take control of Lilya, she grips Arvin's shoulders and corners him against the wall. "Gue understand you have a problem ama bokap lo and do not want to talk it to anyone, but please do. you can not be so pretentious, so, because of how you want to bokap lo's bladder was dead in a way that is not natural."

Arvin was just speechless staring at Lilya who was almost like everyone else in his eyes. He didn't know what to say, especially since everything the girl said was true.

But still, for Arvin this event is nothing more than aware of criminal cases that are commonly reported on TV. Rather than that, there was currently something else that attracted his attention. What else if not a drastic change in the character of Lilya which became so fragile also full of emotions like now.

"Gua is relieved. You can finally show the emotions that you have always covered with jokes." Arvin smiled as he held the weak hand of Lilya who was still firmly grasping her shoulder. "It's ok, you deserve to be angry..."

As if awakened, Lilya immediately released her grip and turned to calm down. "Aarrgg!"

"Well, you realize? Cave tell ya, in addition to wrinkles on the eyebrows and eyes..." Arvin held the wall with one hand, trying to support his body that began to numb. "Obviously your expression was a fear\-"

Bruk!

Arvin collapsed, he could no longer maintain his consciousness.

"Vin?" Lilya turned around, finding her best friend already lying on the floor. In a panic, he approached Arvin. "That's really you!"

In the fear of Lilya continued to pat Arvin's cheeks are increasingly pale. "Vin wake!"
