12. The unexpected

Anely's crying finally broke ...

All this time he was stiff nape facing reality. He knew his marriage was not based on love. He knows his daughter's presence in this world is just a fulfillment of responsibilities as a husband. After finding out she was pregnant, Alan seemed to break away from her. He did not even show any responsibility as a husband or as a father . Anely took care of herself like a widow her husband left behind. Alan only meets financial needs without Alan giving even though Anely still has it. Until just before the incident this morning Anely was still patient and even considered Alan's behavior to be nothing. But Alan's words that morning completely broke his heart. Alan managed to crush his feelings and stubbornness all this time.

It seems like he was the one who forced their relationship too much during this time. All this time Anely forgot himself, too confident that one day Alan will be destroyed in him. In the past, though not his wish. He becomes part of the cause of the destruction of Alan's relationship with his lover which ultimately makes the woman commit suicide. Had he known, he would never have accepted the marriage. Anely only knows Alan's love is dead and Alan is forced to marry her. And Anely was so confident that she could replace him in Alan's heart.

Alan was not aware of the change in mood that was happening within his house. As usual, when he returned home, the man immediately stepped into his room. Not like Anely who felt the impact of Alan's words this morning. Alan seemed to be mediocre as if nothing had happened. The next morning as well. As usual Alan prepared himself to leave for the office.

Somehow lately he was reluctant to just visit the kitchen and enjoy breakfast there. Alan prefers to go straight away and enjoy breakfast at the office. That's what made him not realize there was something missing from the house.

Day three Alan found a package on his doorstep. The package was intended for Anely. The man picked it up and put the package away on the guest table. After that, he stepped into his room.

The next day, while about to leave for work, Alan realizes the package is still in place. The man was stunned for a moment as he stared at the package then put it back into place.

At night, when returning to the house the package was still in its place. Curious Alan was back to observe him. It would be obvious if the package was meant for Anely, and the woman had never touched it.  So it is not without reason that the package does not even shift one bit from its place.

Alan was stunned while staring around. Slowly awareness began to open up her feelings. The atmosphere of the house was quiet later. Not only that, the aroma in the house felt different, the floor was also dusty. Alan walked into the kitchen. The place never seemed to be at all. When accidentally his hand touched the table. He found a little dust there. Alan tried to remember the last time he saw Anely.  Wasn't that four days ago?

Alan stepped into Anely's room and opened the door.

Dark ...

only darkness first meets his eyes. Alan fumbled through the wall to light the light. When the light illuminated the room. He didn't find anyone.  The room also looked clean and tidy. Alan walked into the wardrobe and opened the door. Alan didn't find anything there. The closet was empty at all. When I look at the side of the closet. Alan also looked at the dressing table that had been completely empty. Now Alan realized, his wife had already left the house. Probably since four days ago. And Alan just realized it now.

Alan tried to remember the thing that made Anely take that decision.  The incident four days ago when he was about to leave for work ...

"When you have some free time for a few days. I'm planning on taking you on vacation together to Lay's birthplace first."

"I'm not interested. Go, if you want to go."

“Could it be because of that?”  Alan remembered Anely's invitation which he had rejected at that time.

"I'll take Simpony with me,"

"Ah no, it seems not that,” Anely looks not offended at all in response to her rejection at that time.

"You can have it too if you want to."

"Even though we marry not on the basis of love, do not look at me like an item you can carelessly give to others.  My life, it's mine. I have the right to decide where I go and where I go. You have absolutely no right to give me to anyone because I'm not yours at all. "

Alan was aware of something. Alan remembered Anely who seemed to not accept his words to Lay at that time. Not usually Anely said such sharp words. The words were like needles that pierced through his senses but that was what made him mediocre. Putting a needle doesn't have any effect on him. But Anely's unexpected departure left a slightly greater impact than Anely's words at that time. To make himself feel a little sorry to have hurt a woman who never once deliberately harassed or disturbed his life. He did not like Anely. But this is not what he wants either. Even if Anely leaves this house. He did not want that as a result of his actions that hurt Anely's feelings.

Just falling asleep, Alan has woken up. The sunlight tucked in his room signaled it was morning and Alan really couldn't sleep well all night.

Alan grabbed his phone on the table. A message came in from Anely. He quickly opened it while sitting down.

"Let's meet at the diner in front of your office at lunchtime. I have something to say."

Alan restores his phone without replying to Anely's message. Alan was relieved, at least he got word from Anely. Alan didn't seem to be so curious as to why his wife had asked him to meet. Alan is too arrogant to think ‘all will be fine.’

"I'm so sure!"

"Did this decision have anything to do with Lay? I noticed he was watching you so much. You guys are so close, "Seek Moly.

"No, I made this decision after coming to my senses from stupidity. For years my heart's eyes were closed to my own selfishness.  I pushed our relationship too much until Alan told Lay. Maybe he's too fed up with me. When I see Lay always by my side. She thought Lay wanted me the other way around.  That's why he treated me like an item that could just be given away to someone else.”

"If that's the reason, I can't hold you back either. But ... Do you really love Alan?”

"Actually he. It's just, seeing him as indifferent like that for a long time I was bored. I've been quite content living with him for almost 5 years."

"You sure after this it'll be okay?"

Anely smile.  "That's it. I don't want to get cocky thinking 'I'll be fine in the future' For me now it's the right decision and I'm perfectly fine at the moment. I don't know someday. I hope this feeling will last forever. It's in Simpony. I think it will be quite content in the future."

"What if he falls to his knees begging you?"

"HA HA HA HA HA HA .. You're as funny as not recognizing your cousin. That'S SAAAAANGAAAAT IMPOSSIBLEIIIIL HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA,"

Anely was already there, at the place he had promised through a short message to Alan at the office that afternoon. It was just the two of them in that room. Wordlessly Alan pulled up his chair and sat down in front of Anely.  Previously Alan had imagined that Anely would look skinny and pathetic. In fact the woman was completely fine, and Alan was relieved by it.

Anely took out a map from her bag and handed it to Alan.

"That's our divorce agreement. I signed it and Moly became my witness. Sign this now so I can take it to court immediately."

Alan was stunned as he looked at Anely in disbelief. He was not immediately surprised because he was still difficult to believe this. This was too sudden, this was beyond his expectations. "You okay?" Ask.

"I'm fine now. Sorry for forcing you so long. I'm really sorry. Your words yesterday awakened me to my stupidity and selfishness all along. I'm not that bad, actually. I just enjoy my life. Until I forget that I'm ignoring someone who bears the wound. I don't think it's too late to do this. After this, we can live our own lives.  I'll take Simpony with me. So you can focus more on your life. Oh yeah, you don't have to think about your responsibility for Simpony either. My parents' legacy was even too much to fill both of our lives even though we were having fun. I also have a family that is always ready to help us even though I think I may not need it" Anely said with a carefree smile. His face seemed to sparkle vigorously as if he was not facing a heavy decision. Yes ... at the moment Anely is really excited. But not really for Alan.

Anely didn't notice. Her stiff nose still looked the same even though in her heart she was still too shocked by this fact.

"Sign now, I have to hurry because Simpony's with me."

"So now you've agreed with Lay?" Ask Alan suddenly. The question simply popped up after hearing Anely's words earlier. Alan clearly figured that Simpony was waiting for Anely with Lay somewhere.

"Not .. I don't have any feelings for him yet. It feels very strange if I am in a relationship with my own brother-in-law.  After all, what would people say if after divorcing you, then I remarry your sister. I'll be so despicable in the eyes of people. I also need to keep my pride as a woman."

"I can't sign this now.  It would be too shocking if my father heard this news all of a sudden. I'm gonna talk about this with my dad slowly."

"Until when's that 'slow?' I can't wait for him too long.  Or you agree to our divorce first. 'slowly' that you can do after. We can still pretend to be okay. Besides, your father never cared about our marriage either."

"My father was like that because he believed our marriage would be fine. If I can't imagine knowing we're getting a divorce."

"Why did you waste this opportunity thinking about your father. I don't think your father would care, nor would he force you because he still has hope of passing Lay. Lay can still give you a grandson as his successor.or maybe you're worried about your own successor? You can get married and have more kids, right?"

"ENOUGH!!! Alan shouted as he stood pounding the table with both hands.

Anely looked surprised by Alan who looked emotional. This was the first time he had seen Alan so angry.

"Don't force me. I won't give you what you ask for until I can make my own decisions."  The man passed from before Anely.

Anely took the documents that Alan left behind and ran over to the man's steps.

"Bring this!!" Anely pressed the document on Alan's chest. "I don't have to wait for your decision. With my autograph there, it indicates that we have no relationship anymore,” Anely said while leaving Alan with a document that fell on the floor.
