“Mira.” murmured Dennis surprised.
The man could only stare at Mira, and occasionally blink confirmed what he saw.
The woman who was on the stairs just stared at Hyeon Chul flatly. Hyeon Chul looked up to return Mira's gaze.
“Aibi.”
“Mother!”
Of course, all the humans at the dining table, staring flabbergasted at Mira who looked fine.
“Mother, eat! Mom must be hungry.” timpal Jennie then back focused with her food.
Mira finally smiled even so thinly. Slowly his legs brought him closer to the dinner table, and sat down beside Jennie.
“Am I late?” mira asked as she looked at Hyeon Chul, then turned to look at her husband.
“No, we're just going to eat.” replied Dennis slowly trying to regain consciousness from his daydream about Mira.
Mira smiled again, and this time a calm and gentle smile. Dennis thinks Mira is still 'dwelt' by that bad-hearted woman.
"Remember Den, she's a hypocrite."
Inner Dennis also argued not to trust too much the face as soft as the goose feather of this Mira. Dennis looked up at Mira, whose sweet voice dominated this meal.
“Are you not tired? Mother feels what?” jennie asked on the side of her meal, while occasionally staring at the face of Mira.
“Mother is feeling fine.” Mira replied quietly, then looked at Hyeon Chul and smiled. That smile meant that he was grateful to Hyeon Chul's services.
“Hyeon Chul, why can it be here?” mira asked quietly, staring alternately at Dennis who did not seem to hear his question, then he looked at Jennie.
“Tak knows. The father who invited him.” replied Jennie did not really know what Dennis meant to do it.
Mira felt that something was wrong with Dennis, she could only look at meu Dennis who looked more at his food, and continued to devour it without pause.
“Be careful, dad. Later father can choke.” muttered Mira actually made Dennis really choke, to make Mira deftly pour water into a glass and give it to Dennis.
Dennis choked not because he ate too fast, but because Mira's attentive speech surprised Dennis. There is no singularity in every word that Mira blurted out— like that, making Dennis's bad thoughts on Mira almost collapse.
“Dad is okay?” jennie asked looking up, looking at Dennis who glanced at her then smiled soothingly.
Meanwhile, Hyeon Chul from earlier kept silent, while occasionally glancing at these three humans. His little heart could not wait for night to come to him. Hyeon Chul daydreams to remember one thing he remembered from his grandfather's speech at that time.
“Just need the trust of all those struggles later. Hang out all the tightly-kept memories of that family. Then not only will your family survive, but those who are already in the form of an unacceptable spirit, can also walk further away from this dark world quietly. You scorch the file, and damper under the backyard tree, then sleep and everything will be fine.” Said Kim's grandfather mediating Mira and Hyeon Chul's conversation, before they would get out of the room and enter Dennis's room.
“How do I do it? And what files? Where is it, grandpa?” hyeon Chul asked, looking at her grandfather.
“*Diloteng, above this ladder. There are three photos of their family members, delete all their photos and pendam! That's the way. I know because every night, a young boy enters the attic and talks about it often.” obviously grandfather Kim made Hyeon Chul accidentally guess who the man his grandfather was talking about.
“Hyuk Jae.” muttered Hyeon Chul who only he could hear himself*.
“Hyeon,” call Mira disperse the reverie of Hyeon Chul. The boy looked at all, and sure enough everyone saw him with question marks.
“What's up? Why are you daydreaming?” tanya Mira again rubbed Hyeon Chul's shoulder, and occasionally shook it.
“I have to drudge.” muttered Hyeon Chul staring fixedly at Mira. Trying to remind Mira to come back with a big plan that was planned yesterday. Hyeon Chul hopes that he will succeed.
“Loteng? Whose attic?” dennis asked frowning in wonder at Hyeon Chul. What happened to Mira and Hyeon Chul?
“I'm done eating. I go first.” Hyeon Chul said heeding to Dennis's question which he thought was not important.
Hyeon Chul immediately walked up the stairs, then he looked up at the wooden roof that was so contrasted with most of the roof of this house made of concrete. Another case with what he saw now, the wood was a faded brown color. With a slow but determined movement, he raised his hand and Hyeon Chul's two fingers flanked a hanging rope.
Hyeon Chul pulled her, with a slight surprise to her. A ladder was thrown from top to bottom— tied Hyeon Chul's journey deeper, into a room that was foreign to him.
“Hyeon Chul!” dennis shouted towards Hyeon Chul who had entered the dark-looking attic.
Hyeon Chul glanced around him, everything was very dusty. The old stuff was wrapped in a piece of cloth. As far as Hyeon Chul can see there are no windows here, which might make this room even more lively.
“Hyeon.” call someone behind with a clean slit. Slowly the tall man's figure was seen approaching him, while pulling roughly a thin white cloth from the item beside him.
Hyeon Chul could not look back, he was too afraid to just turn around. He could only see the figure with the tail of his eyes. Which is seen when he's scared.
“Grandfather,” Ogre Hyeon Chul clenched his trembling palms in fear.
The big hand patted hard enough on Hyeon Chul's shoulder, making the boy's body spontaneously turn around. Retreated with his face lowered, and reflexes showed his fist towards the man.
“Hey, are you okay?” dennis asked again holding both ends of Hyeon Chul's shoulders.
Hyeon Chul just realized that the voice was Dennis' voice. The closed eyes opened—and saw a man with a face that turned back against the bright light from outside the attic. Dennis.
“Why do you know this place?” dennis asked looking at Hyeon Chul who was still silent.
“Why did dad do earlier?” hyeon Chul asked in an annoyed shout while stomping one of her legs.
“What's really why? Dad did nothing earlier.” Denies Dennis pressing every word, including ‘ayah’.
Hyeon Chul is shocked to hear Dennis saying that he is ashamed of. He did not realize that he had called Dennis ‘ayah’. Silent, no one wanted to talk anymore including Hyeon Chul, who looked down embarrassed at Dennis who was smiling softly.
“Why should you feel bad calling me dad?” dennis asked straightforwardly with a still smile looking at Hyeon Chul who was also looking at him in fear.
Brak!
The door of the attic staircase was violently slammed and closed, making the two men of different ages set their sights on the stairs that closed the way for them to come out later. With his broad strides, Dennis ran up to the door and pushed it with the back he slammed into the door.
“What can't?” hyeon Chul approached Dennis slowly.
“This, difficult.” replied Dennis still focused on breaking down that door.
Hyeon Chul looked towards the surroundings, hoping that there was something that could help them out of this attic. But something surprised Hyeon Chul, making the boy's gaze continue to be fixed on someone figure in the corner there.
