DEANNA

DEANNA
Deana-01

In a village that is still very beautiful with a vast expanse of rice fields that are not far from the village area. It was where a beautiful girl lived with her mother and younger brother. Living in simplicity does not make him complain or blame the situation because it must be born from a family that is less economically.

She was just a junior high school graduate girl about five years ago, while her sister is now only second grade in junior high school. His mother was a cleaner called also as a tandur worker (plant rice seedlings). While he is still unemployed because there is no suitable job for young girls his age.

"Mom's home yet?" Deana's face sparkled happily when she saw her mother's return from the rice fields.

"Already, De. Your sister's home?" ask back Tinah—ibu Deana.

"No, Ma. Maybe soon, Rangga usually comes home at one o'clock." Deana grabbed a small basket that the mother used as a place to carry supplies.

"Then I want to take a shower first, I want to do it too." Tinah got up and walked to the bathroom in the back of the house.

Tinah raided the bucket to fetch water from inside the well. If most residents in the village already use water from PDAM or electric water pumps, but not with Tinah. Not that he didn't want to, but he didn't have enough money for it yet. Sometimes, he still went to the public baths that made use of the clean springs. However, Tinah's tiredness makes him reluctant to walk there because of its location at the end of the village.

As the mother cleaned herself, Deana opened the basket and took out Tinah's empty lunch and drink and placed it with a pile of dirty dishes. He will wash after Tinah finishes bathing later.

While Deana was busy, there was the sound of the door being knocked quite loudly. The girl immediately stopped her activities and walked hurriedly to open the door. In a grumbling heart, who was that impatient guest.

When the door opened, Deana's face suddenly nervous when she saw Bang Togar—rentenir famous in that village— was standing with his hands touching the wall and also a cigarette was in his mouth. The man smoked a cigarette deeply and then blew his smoke right in Deana's face. The girl did not open her voice, only slightly rewinded her body so that not much smoke would enter her lungs.

"Where's your mother?" ask Togar. His voice sounded so blaring that it made Deana's body slightly shiver.

"A little shower." Deana answered nervously. The girl's hands were crashing at each other*s even cold sweat started to look soaked on the forehead.

"Tell him I'm coming!" tell Togar. Deana was only silent at the door in doubt, but seeing the sharpening look of Togar's eyes, the girl stepped in and did not forget to tell her guests to enter even though she wanted to drive him away.

"Mom" called Deana when Tinah had just taken off her face. Tinah turned around and saw her walking daughter approaching.

"What's up, De?" ask Tinah. The woman's forehead shriveled as she looked at her daughter's face that looked so nervous.

"There's a Bang Togar ahead." Hearing Deana's reply, a surprised look filled Tinah's face, but the woman tried to remain calm. Not wanting to make her daughter feel anxious.

"Then let's meet. It's not good to let guests wait long." Tinah hurried to wake up. Even he did not fold the newly used face, just put it in the prayer mat and then roll it.

Tinah's steps were a little faster, while Deana just followed without saying a word. Togar who was sitting with his legs downed each other immediately turned off his cigarette when he saw the arrival of the host.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Bang." Tinah spoke politely, but Togar did not reply. The man actually straightened his hands on the worn sofa that was currently occupied.

"When are you going to pay off your debt with interest?" ask Togar without further ado. Tinah was suddenly silent with a confused look on her face. "Why are you silent!"

"Ma-sorry, Bang. I don't have any money at the moment." Tinah tried to gather courage.

"When do you have money? You borrowed it for almost a year!" exclamation Togar.

Deana who had just been at the doorway finally walked over and held onto both of her mother's shoulders. He didn't want anyone to hurt or yell at his mother. Togar waited for a smile as he stared fixedly at Deana's face.

"Give me some more time, Bang." Tinah cupped her hands in front of her chest with her face turned clear.

Togar smiled sinisterly and clicked his tongue. "How much longer do you want? Or you just give me your beautiful daughter and I'll count your debts."
