Destiny of the Substitute Bride
40. Longing.
Bella was busy taking care of the children of the orphanage who were still toddlers, when one of the older children suddenly ran in to her.
"Sister Bella, sister Bella!"
"What's Alvin?" ask Bella to be surprised. The girl deftly dressed Lea, a six-year-old orphanage boy, in a brown canal dress. Not to forget, a clasp pinned Bella on Lea's hair.
"Thank you, Brother," Lea said in a funny voice.
"Together, Beautiful." Bella smiled wryly, while looking at the cheek of the kingpin Lea.
"There's a handsome uncle who wants to look for Big Brother!" Alvin reopened his voice.
Hearing Alvin's words, Bella suddenly frowned. "Party-looking? Who's Al?" ask the girl not to understand.
"Yes, handsome uncle! His name if not wrong—"
"Bella's." Alvin's conversation was cut short, when Michelle, one of the caretakers there, came and approached Bella. The exotic-skinned woman said in a soft tone, that her husband was waiting for her in the living room.
Bella Kontan was surprised. The girl did not expect at all, Noah could find her here.
"Mom, please tell me I'm not here!" bella asked for help.
"Children can't lie, son. They're swarming their husbands over there now" Michelle replied.
Bella bowed. Both of his hands were busy twisting the dress he was wearing, a sign that the girl was nervous and confused.
"Bella," call Michelle.
Bella raised her head. "I ... Mom, can I not see him first?" bella asked with a bright eye.
"Mom," call Bella Iirih.
Michelle sighed for a moment, then held onto Bella's shoulder. "alright. You stay here, right?"
Bella nodded her head many times while saying a word of thanks.
Michelle came out of the room and took Alvin out. The 47-year-old woman went to see Noah.
"I'm sorry, Bella turned out to be taking another caretaker to town. They usually go home long. Does Noah want to just wait here?" michelle said as soon as she arrived at the living room.
Hearing the notification from Michelle, Noah tried not to look disappointed. He also got up from the sofa. "Then I'll be back tomorrow. Give my regards to him, Mrs. Michelle," Noah's message.
Michelle nodded her head. The woman escorted Noah out of the building.
Bella ran into the hallway, peeking at the figure of the husband walking towards the car, from one side of the open window.
Although her heart still felt afraid and disappointed, but Bella could not deny the longing that came to shackle her heart.
When Noah got into the car, the man accidentally caught the silhouette of someone he knew very well, in one of the windows of the home, namely Bella, his wife.
Knowing that he had just been lied to, again Noah had to swallow a deep disappointment. The man even had the intention to pull Bella away from there. However, Noah hastily brushed aside his intentions, because he did not want Bella to hate him more and more.
"I miss you" Noah murmured, before finally leaving the orphanage.
Bella remained there for a while, though her husband was no longer visible. Tears flowed down her cheeks.
"I miss you" muttered Bella softly.
