Chapter 7: Among the

In a place commonly visited by small children in the afternoon with his small family, seen a child in a red jacket with his digital camera. He was busy looking for places and media that could be used as his work. Like as fast as the wind, he photographed a black and white cat accidentally passing in front of him.

"Well... The cat ran away" he said sadly.

Red jacket with short hair that looks like a man equipped with a typical digital camera, which is none other than Lily who is busy looking for something that can be used as his work . On the other hand, her goal at the park was to fill her boredom at a time when her brother was busy looking for money.

Anyone who does not feel at home lives alone while other residents of the house will go home around curfew. In addition to filling his boredom, he made this moment as a container for himself to develop his talent in photographing. Lily was waiting for someone to come.

"You came too" Lily said as she approached the person she was waiting for.

"Sorry, yeah. There was a little business at the cafe,” said the person reasoned.

"It's okay, really," Lily replied. Then, the two figures walked over and sat on a swing.

"Can I see your camera?" ask the man.

Lily is not a figure who does not give others to touch his favorite objects. So, he gave the camera to the guy. The person immediately saw the results captured by the camera. But he realized something.

"But, may I ask you a question?" ask the guy.

"Of course, dong. What do you want?" answer Lily.

"We have known each other for a long time, but until now we have never asked each other our names" the person said.

In retrospect what that person said had a point. They have never asked what their names are. Uniquely, so far they communicate like close friends without knowing any names at all.

"Oh, that? Then, you can call me Darent," said the young man.

However, Lily realized something. During this time people thought of him as a boy considering that his appearance was like a boy. She can't introduce herself as Lily and she wants to hide her identity as a girl.  Inevitably, he had to introduce himself to her name that sounded like a man.

“What's your name?” ask Darent who Lily never answered.

“My name is Chandra,” replied Lily scared.

“A suitable name for you,” replied Darent who did not suspect Lily at all. Hearing that, Lily immediately exhaled a sigh of relief.

To cover up her worries, Lily immediately asked with a slightly different topic but still had something to do. “Omong-by the way, how old are you? You look older than me,” asked Lily.

"No need to call me "sister". Call a name, aja,” Darent replied. However, it makes Lily shocked not to play. Is Darent able to read his mind, he thought.

"Kok know?" ask Lily in surprise.

"Not to be explained. Your words refer to it, "darent replied casually.

"Your answer is already visible if you're a grown man" Lily said.

“Adult men, yes?” ask Darent. However, her face showed a slight expression making Lily wonder.

“Why?” ask Lily curiously.

“Nothing really,” replied Darent while showing his smile. Accidentally, awkwardness as well as silence accompanied between them. Suddenly, Darent called Lily by another name which made the awkwardness and silence crumble instantly.

"What?" Lily stared at Darent quickly.

"I'm curious about your picture. Why is it all like this?" ask Darent curiously.

He was very surprised when he saw the contents of Lily's kemera. Usually the camera is used to memotaret something that can move a person's heart with the beauty and meaning of a shot. Unlike Lily, he prefers to photograph dead animals that have even become dry carcasses.

"I want to show it to my sister,” Lily replied with a slightly moody face.

"No. I'm just worried about him" he replied in a sad tone. Darent did not reply, he allowed Lily to continue her sentence..

"Today I've seen my brother drown his face in the bathroom sink. From then on I started to worry if she had any intention of ending herself" Lily explained again. His face lowered, but Darent knew very well the worry Lily was feeling.

"What does this have to do with these photos?" ask Darent beware.

"I want to show you how horrible death is,” Lily replied again.

"For me, you're a good brother. You're so cool. Understanding others is not easy" Darent said. Hearing that, Lily immediately looked at Darent fixedly.

"I don't know what happened to your brother, I'm sure he's thinking. He did so because he felt so depressed that he wanted to drown his face. I hope with these pictures he realizes that" he explained, covered with a warm smile. Before long, Darent returned the camera to the owner.

"Because I talked about this, I remembered an incident" said Darent who began to open a new topic.

"What's that incident?" ask Lily curiously.

"Yesterday, I saw a girl who wanted to jump out of the apartment building I was living in. Of course I prevented it immediately," he continued.

"How's it going?" Now, Lily is getting curious about the continuation of the story.

"In the end he didn't come to jump thanks to me. But, I realized something from the girl," said Darent.

"Why with that girl?" Lily's getting curious.

"He was like there was no intention to end his life but tried to end his life. You understand what I mean, don't you?" Darent tried to explain in his best words so that Lily could understand what he meant. Fortunately, Lily understood.

"Yes, I understand. I think he did it because he was hesitant to leave someone behind" Lily replied. His face was serious.

"Yes, I thought so too,” replied Darent who agreed.

“It looks like I've seen it but forgot where,” said Darent.

“Really?” said Lily. After that, the atmosphere there became quiet. Lily was busy fiddling with her camera while Darent was just pensive to think of what.

"Talking about your brother, I became curious about your brother's figure." Darent finally opened a new conversation.

"You want me to introduce him?" ask Lily. His face turned to be very excited. Finally someone wanted to see her brother, she thought.

"If you want," replied Darent. It seems like he was really curious as to who the older sister of Lily was.

"Silent. My brother is good, kok.” Lily tried to convince Darent.

"It's not. I'm just not ready yet" Darent replied. However, it made Lily think of something else.

"Why? You're not confident or what?" ask Lily.

"It's not. I'm just not sure" Darent replied.

"What do you mean by not being sure?" ask Lily. Darent immediately stood up instead of answering Lily's question.

"Chandra, let's go to the cafe. They've gathered there" said Darent.

"Like to really make other people curious,” said Lily. Before long, he followed Darent who a few seconds ago left the playground. Finally they both rushed to a cafe that had been discussed by Darent.

“You are not the person I met before. Your eyes are different from the people I've met. You changed.”
