DRAGON CARVED JADE BRACELET

DRAGON CARVED JADE BRACELET
Chapter 231: CLOSE ATTACHED

Melian is just waiting for graduation. So that you have a lot of free time, you can even say Melian is currently unemployed. But whose name is Melian, there is no such thing as idle. Even if it were to be said, the time of one twenty-four hour day was still lacking for him. Many activities and of course busy taking care of children in Transformer Village. At least teach reading. There is no burden to think about college anymore. Melian has been declared a graduate. So the time is set with the children of scavengers.

Melian's closeness with the citizens can no longer be separated. They have become a unit that is very difficult to distinguish between people who work as scavengers, volunteers and outsiders who study in Transformer Village. Even the tourists who come to this place. Even Melian was also involved in finding and managing the junkyard.

Indeed, the name of science is not only from teachers or lecturers. Science is not only obtained from school or campus. There is a saying from Minang that says, "Nature is not a teacher", meaning that this expanse of nature can be used as a lesson for life.

Tanah Minang is famous for its beautiful and green nature. Natural scenery that refreshes the eye, such as mountains, rice fields, gardens, rivers, hills, and valleys, is very beautiful and charming to the eye, and all of that lies in the Minang realm. Of the various forms of nature that vary, Minang people follow a philosophy known as “Alam takambang become guru.”

Indeed, in fact everything that exists in this nature, be it mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, fields and rice fields, which differ in function and role, are interconnected even though they are not mutually binding, opposites but also do not eliminate each other, and clump together but do not merge with each other. All forms of nature are seen with their respective existence in a beautiful harmonization of nature. All of them have their own roles and functions, but remain a dynamic unity in accordance with the dialectic of nature which they call bakarano bakajadian or known as cause and effect.

Such as rivers and rice fields. Rivers that provide abundant water, provide prosperity for the green rice plants in the rice fields. If the river is experiencing drought, then the farmers will experience a lean season because they can not harvest. Likewise, if the river is flooded that is not because, then the green rice that stretches out in the rice fields, will be washed away by the flood. For this reason, humans must be able to blend in between forests and rivers. If the forest is cut down or deforested, the rainwater will not be held back by the grass of plants, then the river is not able to accommodate the overflow of rainwater, then there is a flood that will harm everyone. But if the forest is kept awake, even in the dry season, river water is still available from rainwater deposits held back by plant roots, which come out as springs. Even with a very hot dry season, humans will not lack water. The rice paddies of the farmers will remain lush green, which means the people will be prosperous.

The same thing Melian did. According to him, science is not only in schools or campuses. No need to study with professors or professors. Sometimes, when he chatted with scavenger children, he got a new knowledge. Even in the Kampung Transformer which he developed with students from various disciplines, and from various academic groups, it provides a lot of knowledge that is very contextual with everyday life. Perhaps from management science, Melian has gained a lot of knowledge from his lecturers. But when it comes to learning how to cook fish caught in the river, this is not the business of a magnificent campus. But the business of Bu Bejo who every day wrestled with the dishes in the kitchen.

As was the case that day, when he was asked by the children while together studying at Gubug Pasinaon.

"Sir ..., if we want to make a hydroelectric power plant how?" ask a child who is about twelve years old. Although they only studied at Gubug Pasinaon, they have received many reading books, donations from various philanthropists. Of course, one of the reading books is there that discusses the problem of hydroelectricity.

"Why do you think that?" Melian asked back, which of course wanted to know the reason for the child who asked that. Although actually Melian also does not understand how to make hydroelectric power plants.

"Come, Brother .... Beside us is a river whose water is abundant at all times. Is that impossible if we use it as a power plant? If only we could make use of these abundant natural resources, it would be a place where we would be more prosperous." explained the boy.

Melian was surprised by the thought of the little boy, who was able to think far ahead, talking about the use of natural resources and the welfare of the community. It is a high-level thought that should be owned by students or state officials who should advance the nation. Unfortunately and very unfortunate, many smart children do not have the opportunity to get a good education.

"Yes .... This is the wealth of our nation. The wealth that Indonesia has, the wealth that is spread around us, but has not been utilized. This is our job, to be able to manage, cultivate and utilize the wealth of nature as best as possible." replied Melian who immediately invited her children to be able to think critically and creatively.

"Yes, Brother .... But the problem for us is not understanding and do not have the skills to process natural resources that are actually spread very much around us. Frankly we want to be able to do a lot of things, unfortunately we are not enough science for it all" said the boy again, which is actually demanding to be given more knowledge.

Melian was silent for a moment. Seek the answers that are most acceptable to the minds of children. Not a concept in the clouds. But facts that can be done in everyday life.

"Yes ..." said Melian. Next try to give an idea. "Come .... Surely you still remember, what was the settlement here? Only cardboard boxes are made. Dirty and seedy. However, after there are volunteer brothers who are helping to organize this place, our village is now so nice, organized, and beautiful. That means, we need people who can move, need people who can invite, and need people who want to work. There is intent there. The volunteers move. Mr. Bejo with his friends. We all work. Be what we want. Well .., now we want to make hydroelectric power plants. The water is there and abundant. It is your intention to make it exist. Now who's left to teach us how to make it, create that power plant?" melian explained to the children.

"Sir Akbar ...!" said the kid who had the idea to make the power plant.

"Yes, let's find Akbar ..." said the others began to spirit.

Some kids ran straight to the antique house. Usually there the volunteers gather to pour ideas. And true. Akbar is there. The children who picked him up immediately took him to Gubug Pasinaon, a place where children used to study. Of course Akbar, who was a student from ITB was immediately moved to follow the invitation of children.

"What's up ...?" akbar asked Melian, after arriving at Gubug Pasinaon.

"This .... Children want to create hydroelectric power plants .... Please Brother Akbar explained. I don't get it. Hehe ..." said Melian to Akbar who is considered to understand about the power plant.

"Nah .., now, if you want to try to create a power plant that utilizes the flow of the Ciliwung River, we start with simple technology. We use the used stuff. Number one, we need used bicycle wheels. The picture is like this. Yesterday Brother saw that someone got the wreckage. Later around the palek we will give old cans to be rotated by the water current. Then we need dynamos, wires and lights." Akbar explained to the children while describing the model on the board.

"Kok seems very simple indeed, Brother ...? If it's just like that, it's actually very easy to make it ..." said the child who really wants to try to take advantage of the river water in his neighborhood.

"Indeed .... It's simple. Let's practice it. We find the bike wheels in the wreckage pile. Then we ask Mr. Man to make poles and install cans as tools that later to be driven by river water currents, in order to rotate. Later in the day I will buy dynamos and cables and small lights. The important thing is that you will know the procedure" said Akbar, who immediately invited the children to look for the material.

"Akbar .., you're great ..." praise Melian to her friend, as she walks with the kids to find the materials she needs.

"Melian is definitely better .... Able to encourage children." Akbar replied, smilingly looking at Melian.

The white-eyed girl blushed in embarrassment. His cheeks immediately blushed. There was another feeling as Melian watched Akbar's smile. Especially when the two of them walked together, every time Melian turned to look at Akbar, the man was always smiling looking at him.

"Melian ..." said Akbar who surprised Melian who was floating his thoughts.

"Eh, yes .... What's up?" melian asked with a confused smile. Surprised to hear the call in question felt soft and friendly.

    "But, yeah ...?" guess Akbar.

"Ah .., no .... What's up?" Melian blushed again.

"Later in the afternoon I had a lecture. I ask Melian to help arrange the children. Please also make the equipment. If necessary, then Mr. Man will install his equipment in the river. I'll look for dynamos, wires and lights. Sokor can get a big dynamo, let the lights turn on brighter" Akbar told Melian.

"Yes .... I'll try. You be careful on the road, yeah .... True college, let's graduate quickly" said Melian ordered back.

"Yes .... Thanks for the advice, Mel. I'll make a picture sketch. Hopefully Mr. Man can string the ingredients together" Akbar told Melian.

The two of them, along with the children, were desperately searching for the materials needed. Surely, the children started to ruffle the heaps of junk. Likewise, Mr. Man, who has been invited to determine the choice of materials that are suitable for use as a simple waterwheel manufacturing material.

Akbar gave explanations and instructions to Pak Man, who would later make a waterwheel from the used wheel. Curious children, come to the storm to help. All of them, wanted to know how the manufacturing process was.

"Mel ..., I went to college first, yeah ...." Akbar said goodbye to Melian.

"Yes .... Cepet back, yes ..." said Melian. Of course Melian will wait for Akbar's presence.

"Why ...?" akbar asked, definitely with a smile.

"Well, I'm waiting for the kids .... They were curious, yes .." replied Melian who must have smiled shyly.
