Eternal Ice

Eternal Ice
Chap.10 "Hidden Truth"

Eric ruffled his hair in frustration, he was in confusion. He was currently standing in front of a shelf placed in front of the weapon shop where sword intent was lined up. He really could not choose, the row of pointed objects that were clearly displayed in his eyes was very valuable.

"Curtain! What am I doing here?" Realizing that his confusion won't find an endpoint, Eric turns and goes back to walking through the city, looking for interesting things - rather than confining himself in an inn room like Alice.

And in the end, all he did was walk aimlessly around Lyberinth, join the crowd, and observe around.

BRUK!

Inadvertently, Eric bumps into one of the men on Lyberinth Street. Not yet had he cursed the person who hit him, his whole body suddenly unable to move, he was pecking at the same position in a few moments, he was unable to move, and the flow of mana flowing throughout his body began to react moving towards his head.

DEG!

In an instant, various pieces of events flashed through his mind. Foreign people and places kept popping up, where in his heart was turbulent and messing with the order of his magic.

"Hello Eric, it's Mom."

"The humiliation of dark forces must be avenged by death!"

"And you think the throne is everything?"

"You can never escape the shackles of destiny."

"A faithful slave will never betray his master."

His gaze instantly blurred, his consciousness began to dissipate, a strange feeling raging in his heart.

"Hey!" A man's voice resuscitated him, it took a moment for Eric to come to his full consciousness.

"W-what?" He asked with a surprised expression.

"If your mind is out of focus, don't join the crowd. You won't know what's on their minds. A lot of bad things happen when someone is off guard." The man's advice was like a past breeze for Eric who was still processing everything that happened to him just a moment ago.

Later, the man finally leaves after making sure Eric is fully conscious, and it doesn't take long for the man to disappear from Eric's sight.

Eric scratched his non-itchy head and took a step back. The memory that flashed in his head was never experienced at all, coming for a moment and imprinting in his mind.

"It looks like you just awakened your hidden power, son." The sweet voice of the woman draped in his ears. And he turned his head, finding that the source of the voice was from within a library not far from where he stood.

The closer he got to the library door, the more the door opened without any hands opening it.

As he set foot on the library floor, he was greeted by the red-hooded witch woman who was probably the owner of the melodious voice that greeted him earlier.

"I'm amazed at you, son. You can face a resurgence of overwhelming power without losing half of your mana and being able to hold your mana light from spreading." The woman closed the ancient book she was reading, instead sitting on a chair between two large bookshelves.

Eric clenched his hand and growled "What are you talking about old lady?! What do you mean by incredible power?!"

The woman who was his interlocutor just chuckled softly. "Don't talk rudely to me, son. I just want to straighten out your view of the world, tell you everything you don't know, and the secrets between the sun, moon, and shadows." The words that came out of the woman's lips really put a question mark on Eric's mind.

Eric just kept quiet, looking at the woman seriously.

"Well, where can we start...."

CTAK!

Eric was aghast as the woman typed her finger. The windows and doors close and lock instantly, adding to the tension between the two currently interacting individuals.

"A peaceful world of magic, that's what humans believe, isn't it? The human beings make the thought that the world has been peaceful forever, deceiving their descendants by saying the same ideology, they can even live comfortably without the influence of war. But they never realize that they are consumed with that eternal bliss." The woman spoke at length. Then he smiled with satisfaction, looking at Eric who seemed unable to pucker up after hearing his words.

"And you know what, son? The wizarding world has never felt complete peace, those who laugh happily will turn into weak bodies helpless in contention as proof of how cruel the world they were born into is.

"I'm sure you've heard the story of the sun witch. Lorraine who is the descendant of the temple fairies with humans was revealed to the earth land for desecrating the honor of the temple, then lived in agony and seclusion, building up her powers to become a great witch, raised five disciples and bequeathed all of his magic power as he died.

That's a silly joke. Lorraine was not sent down for ruining honor, but for spearheading resistance to darkness. Moon magicians who wield the power of darkness are born as descendants of demons and humans, he becomes the hope for the demons to fight the light in order to regain their position in the eyes of the world. The moon witch is sent down to the earth with the aim of destroying the power of light. And that's when, endless feuds and destruction begin." The woman smirked after finishing her sentence. Eric bit his lips, everything the woman said shook his mind too much. Which condition of his is being uncontrolled, as if controlled by a mysterious woman who has told a lot since.

"Thousands of nights passed, and both sides of the force found a bright spot. They reconcile, then combine forces so that the shadow element is formed. The world of magic became peaceful in several centuries.

Before the tragedy happened......

A terrible tragedy that made the three powers split again. Peace ended, back in the era of war that spread suffering and disaster. There was a huge crack that formed between light and darkness. That was the reason why Lorraine had disciples, she deliberately raised five innocent children to be educated into pawns of resistance." He got up from his seat and picked up one of the books on a shelf.

"The five children eventually grew up inheriting Lorraine's determination, and continue her struggle until now. The peak of the showdown occurred during the great war of the magic world, and the world was divided into three parts that walked in unison on the land of the earth.

In the centuries, strength has been increasing from all sides, even the sun group expanding their power by means of descent and spreading the light of mana."

"Son, don't you wonder why your mana and magic abilities are so powerful even if you never practice them? Are you curious about yourself who can survive long in the water?

And.....

Are you wondering about the ability to dig and see images of memories you've never experienced and those golden eyes of yours?"

Eric was instantly speechless in a thousand languages, the mysterious woman's words sounded like a lie, but his heart told him to believe and listen.

"W-what?" Eric could only speak one word, he was too under pressure to fight back with words.

"That's because, you're a direct descendant of one of Lorraine's students. Not only that, the blood of the crown prince of the magical land also flows within you, united into an unparalleled power."

BRACKET!

Eric took a few steps back until he hit the door leaf, his breathing was stingy, his heart felt like it was about to explode, two types of mana inside his veins collided, giving a painful effect all over his body.

"It seems like I'm talking too much, you're still in the beginning stages of dealing with all this." The woman walked up to Eric, raised her hand and formed magic.

"Now sleep......."

...----------------...

Eric opened his eyes, and found himself lying in his inn room. His eyes swept around, his net catching Alice sleeping while sitting on a chair by his bedside.

"Alice.." -...." Call, shrewd.

"Eric?! Are you conscious?!" Alice half-screamed, she immediately woke up and asked her friend.

"Where am I.." Eric tries to get up, but his efforts are held back by Alice who immediately lays him back.

"In the inn room. You worried me half to death, you know?! My heart almost came out when I saw you collapsed in front of my door!" Alice crossed her arms around her chest while nagging Eric.

A look of astonishment was engraved on Eric's face, then he tried to sit himself down, and this time he succeeded without Alice's arrest.

"Come, ugly. At least ask in advance the situation of your friend who just realized this. Then what do you mean, I passed out on your doorstep?!" Reply Eric, do not want to lose with Alice who raised her voice.

"Don't pretend to forget the memories, obviously if I see you lying unconscious with a pale face in front of my room! Ah, nevermind. I'll come down for lunch, the waiter will deliver your share." Alice got up from her seat and moved out.

"Rest." He said short, then disappeared behind the door.

Eric was silent for a moment, then held his head and muttered. "I had a long dream....."

To be continued......
