EVERNA Arcel Raine's

EVERNA Arcel Raine's
First Mission

After a simulated fight against Vordac, Arcel Raine was not immediately deployed on the mission that day. Therefore, he made further preparations with more focus on recovering his inner energy.

For the next four days, Alistair Kane taught another style of the series of science Rainbow Finger of the Gods, namely the Orange Rainbow Index.

“This is the way to shoot precisely and accurately from a distance. So you have to practice long-range shooting techniques like a sniper, aka a sniper,”, said Alistair. “Thus, you will be an all-rounder fighter who is difficult to find a match in this world.”

So, this time Arcel is in a shooting field simulation based on Augmented Virtual Reality or AVR. His job is, he must shoot with various techniques, including shooting fast-moving targets, shooting sharpshots from a distance, strafing many targets at once and so forth.

Having trained several times with simulated shooting, Arcel already understood how to open the safety lever in two virtual semi-automatic pistols, as well as aiming quite accurately at the target with straight hands, not much different from archery.

The first to appear are targets that run fast on the ground, be it various kinds of monsters, there are even people who can shoot back. With agility, Arcel dodged each shot and fired back quickly and precisely.

Nine out of every ten digital bullets fired by both guns hit the target. Arcel even moved quickly to take cover behind the hologram wall, replacing the second magazine of his pistol with one that was still full and instantly moving agile while shooting again.

Then the level of difficulty is increased by the appearance of flying monsters such as giant bats, giant hornet bees and so forth. Although not as accurate as before, at least Arcel bullets managed to hit the pilots before they had time to sting or bite the body of the “player”.

Then, there appeared a group of enemy aviators, pedestrians and riders who stormed in unison while shooting at Arcel. Arcel took refuge behind the hologram wall. The two pistols in his hand vanished in digital fragments, then he exclaimed, “Double Hand Machine Gun!”. Instantly, two Uzi-like light machine guns on Earth appeared in the grasp of both hands.

Arcel appeared while rolling over, then leaned towards the large horde in the air and land. Countless number of enemies were falling.

There are some flying monsters and bullets that hit and grazed Arcel's body, but nothing fatal, making him eliminated and having to repeat the simulation from scratch again.

A pair of Arcel machine guns barked again, wiping out all the remaining aviators and hordes of enemies.

“Fiuh!” inner Arcel. “That was almost. But I still have to get rid of the strongest and hardest target now.” He quickly replaced both of his machine guns with a long-barreled rifle.

Soon, a shrill voice sounded. As expected, from the ceiling of the simulation room that appears to be aired as a real sky, from behind a thick white cloud appeared a bird like a giant eagle as big as a dragon known as the roc.

Strained, Arcel peeked through the binoculars on top of his rifle and aimed at the roc. From the previous simulation, he knew that he had to shoot right in the roc's black eyes in order to kill him instantly.

The roc flew around Arcel first before he swooped suddenly towards Arcel, as if giving Arcel a chance to shoot him first.

The former warrior of ancient times did not understand how to use an ultra-advanced sniper rifle equipped with a shooting-guiding computer, his understanding of computers is still very common.

Forced Arcel to aim based on his intuition, estimates and feelings alone, ignoring instructions from the computer. As a result, long-range shots hit only the body and wings of the roc and the giant bird did not fall.

More seriously, the roc made another quick turn while soaring, then started swooping towards Arcel.

Impossible to avoid the giant bird, Arcel was forced to shoot directly at the head of the target. Some of the shots missed, and some went into the head of the roc.

Turns out, the roc didn't fall. Its two giant claws were ready to crush Arcel's virtual body. Nearly desperate, Arcel shoots many more times. The roc claw that was close made Arcel's face pale instantly.

When the claw stayed a few more snags from Arcel's head and Arcel's rifle bullet was exactly exhausted, the roc's body suddenly flushed into digital particles.

After the ultimate enemy vanished without a trace, Arcel fell to the ground. The ground quickly changed to the floor, as well as the ceiling and concrete walls.

Then, a hologram screen flashed, hovering in front of Arcel. The writing on the screen is as follows.

Arcel fell to his knees and hit both of his fists on the floor. His original grumpy and emotional nature relapsed.

“Not to be so angry, Arcel,” said Chloe with a smile. “We don't need to be experts in everything, do we?”

“Yes, I agree,” replied Arcel. “But what I have to train to mature the mastery of the new skill of the Rainbow Orange is precisely the shooting technique at a distance.”

“Let's just ripen that style. Secretary Arantes is waiting for you in his office space, now.”

No need to linger, Arcel went alone to see Secretary Arantes. The secretary's codename was Taskmistress Artemis. In accordance with her cipher name, a thirty-six-year-old woman named Vorai Arantes, from Escudia was in charge of assigning duties and missions to each VOLSUNG agent.

Arcel's status was actually an agent on probation and training, so it was only natural that he was assigned to relatively light missions. There is no easy mission at this agency, so Arcel must be prepared for any eventuality.

“Good day, Miss Secretary. Can I help you?” arcel asked while looking down respectfully.

Vorai Arantes watched Arcel from head to toe with his two eyes as well as the eyes of an eagle. The black-haired woman, short in front and long in the back and flat-boned then spoke up, “Ya, of course. That's why I called you, Agent Helios.aka Arcel Raine.”.

Arcel replied, “It looks like the agents here are not mutually secretive of each other, yes. No exception Mother who prefers to be called Arantes rather than the password name Taskmistress Artemis.”

“Yes, because if we do that, the other agents will be able to uncover the real identity that we keep secret. But cipher names are very important out there, especially when on a mission. Moreover, you are a hero in ancient times, which became very famous to the present for certain reasons that I can not explain.”

“Yes, I understand and will always pay attention to that, Mom.”

“Good,” says Vorai. “Well, we'll just go straight to the tree. To be honest, I've been monitoring your progress all along. After seeing the simulation shoot that you did earlier, I was sure enough and appointed you to carry out an important mission.”

“What mission is it?”

“Tadi morning, an independent informant named Dean Vizier contacted us and said he wanted to provide a very important information about a team of Indranara black assassins called Bloodfeast that was running rampant in District Six Centronia.

Because Bloodfeast may be linked to Centronia's largest and most powerful fighting party, Bloodshed, Dean is unable to pass on the gang's data via a communication device. So he asked VOLSUNG to send one tough and trustworthy agent to meet him. Dean will provide the important information data to the agent concerned.”

Many of the terms Vorai mentioned earlier were not understood by Arcel. But he still absorbed everything. Even if there's something she doesn't understand, she asks Chloe.

Vorai continued, “Well, are you ready to go see Dean Vizier? It's okay if not, we will appoint another agent..!”.

“I'm ready, Miss Secretary,” replied Arcel steady.

“Good. Well, look at this screen next to me,” said Vorai while pointing to a very wide monitor screen hanging on the wall next to his desk.

Arcel turned to the monitor and saw the face of the man with long blond hair and bright blue eyes, smiling handsomely with charisma.

“All the data about Dean Vizier I've sent to your smartphone, Arcel. Meet him at Headbangers’ Club, District Six. A full address along with a road map is available as well. You can go with Chloe over there, but you have to go in and see Dean alone. Well, prepare yourself and leave immediately. He will only appear later tonight, after that, we have to second-guess when facing the Bloodfeast.” Gang

“Good, Miss Secretary. I will carry out this mission as well as possible.” Arcel saluted again, then turned to leave the room Vorai.”

After closing the door, Arcel turned himself in, “Wah, I don't know how to open the picture! I had to bother Chloe again.”
