“Where are you going, Bim? Where is Viona?” rima asked as she watched Bima climb down the stairs.
“Viona is sleeping with Nara, Mom. I'm gonna grab something in the car. Where's dad?” Bima opened his eyes, but did not see the whereabouts of Abdul.
“Dad is in the back garden pool. Being mingled with his favorite Koi fish. For tonight you stay here, after all tomorrow is Sunday, right? This big house often feels quiet and if there is Nara then the atmosphere becomes crowded.”
“Alright, Bu.” Bima nodded while reviewing the smile. “After all I miss Mother's cooking, it feels not satisfied if only tasted once at lunch.”
Rima's face was so happy when the daughter-in-law agreed to her request that she even missed her cooking. That's how a mother, sometimes only simple things like this can make her smile happily.
“Will I make, you want to be sure what say yes. Mom to room first.” Rima stared gratefully and patted her daughter-in-law's shoulder then passed into the room.
Bima headed to the garage and opened the trunk of her car. Taking a box-shaped package that is quite large, as big as the picture frame of his wedding with Viona. he then brought the package to the back garden, approaching Abdul who was sitting in a poolside chair.
Abdul did give his blessing for his second marriage with Viona, only until now his father-in-law had not much to ask him to speak. Unlike his first marriage, Abdul was so enthusiastic about exchanging words discussing this and that with him.
The handsome man with the big nose is understood. Abdul must still harbour doubts about his current self. Abdul must still find it hard to put his trust once again on him. For that Bima will not impose, will try to slowly improve his communication relationship with Abdul.
“What's the first time?” bima who helped land his buttocks in the seat next to Abdul.
“Ah... this again feed fish,” said Abdul who still looks awkward if chatting alone with Bima.
“Nara often told me that she had her favorite Koi fish in this pond. Said his name was Pumpkin,” Bima.
“Yes, Pumpkin is the largest Koi fish in this pond. Type Goromo, whose color is beautiful it.” Abdul pointed his index finger at a Koi fish that was swimming friskily to and fro, white bottom with a beautiful blue-brimmed red pattern.
A warm smile was also engraved on Bima's face when she heard the story about her little daughter. He then handed over the large package he had brought to Abdul. “This is a simple gift from Bali for Dad. I chose it myself.”
Bima did deliberately buy the gift during the exhibition. He immediately remembered his father-in-law when he saw the classic object there and decided to buy it even though the price was priced high enough.
“May according to Father's taste. I'm going inside first.” Bima withdrew politely and let Abdul enjoy his time. Hope his in-laws like the gift he chose.
After Bima died, Abdul was still stunned. Just staring straight at the package beside him. Long she pensively pensively, then finally her hand moved to tear the package carefully.
A happy smile came straight out. It turned out to be a painting that was so fitting with his taste.
*****
“Wah, nice painting. Very fitting with Dad's taste.” Rima commented on the moment Abdul brought a classic painting into the study and hung it on the wall along with his other collection of paintings.
“Good right, Mom? sumringah. Abdul looked at the painting with sparkling eyes.
“Iya, good. Where can I get new paintings?” ask Rima.
“This souvenir from Bali. Bima bought it for Dad.” Abdul replied without turning his eyes away from the stunning brushstrokes.
Rima also smiled happily, Bima really tried to fight for Viona now. He also felt relieved, at least gradually Abdul began to melt the iceberg stuck in his head, unraveling the freezing ice that had long existed in his insoles.
