Diora was incessantly crying reading a letter from Gabby. He looked at the calendar on his desk, saw the date. He was getting hysterical so that Lyana immediately entered without permission for fear of something bad happening to her boss.
“Nona, you why?” Lyana approached Diora who was already resting on the floor with her body leaning against the table.
Diora did not answer Lyana, she roared. “Why can I forget if yesterday was his birthday!” She beat her own head, cursed her overjoyed at having met her biological parents, overjoyed at the news of her pregnancy, and overjoyed at her husband who loved her so much.
Lyana blocks Diora's hand from hurting her own body. “Nona, relax.”
Diora could not calm down, she was crying even more. “What kind of friend am I! Even Gabby never once forgot me!”
Lyana is confused as to what to do, she opts out to contact Davis' secretary, asking for help to tell Davis and tell him what happened to Diora. He returns to the house to accompany Diora, who is still hysterically blaming herself.
...........
The pounding of the pantofel with the floor in the building was heard hunting. Not only one sound of footsteps echoed there. Yet two.
The door to Diora's room was wide open. Two men with sharp eyes. Davis and George. The two stop the meeting after receiving news of Diora's hysterical silence and chanting Gabby's name.
Davis immediately hugged his wife to calm down. Gives gentle touches to the woman he loves.
As for George, he still stood firm. “What happened? Please explain to me.” He asked Lyana.
“I don't know, sir. Miss Diora immediately cried hysterically after I gave Miss Gabby's resignation letter,” Lyana explained.
Lyana also tells the chronology of her getting a letter and giving it to Miss Diora. He also said that he did not know the contents of the other letter.
“Give me the letter,” George orders Davis, for Davis to take the letter that Diora still holds tightly.
Davis uncovers his wife's fingers tightly gripping the white paper with a red ink scratch. Give it to George.
George read every word. He squeezed the paper to formless after he finished reading. For some reason, he who read the letter also felt how much pain was forgotten. He understood that Gabby had given Diora a satirical sentence by saying thank you for the party last night.
George threw the paper down in front of Diora. “Gabby's years of being your best friend and protector. Never once did he hurt you. He's always there when you're happy or he'll be the first person to comfort you when you're sad. But, such a small thing? Just his birthday you forgot. You know if he insinuates you in that letter?”
Diora nodded, she was indeed aware of that. “I completely forgot, I did not check the date because I was too happy with what I got these few days.”
George's hand clenched tightly, hearing Diora's reply, he grew even more annoyed. “You know? He sacrificed so much for you, he put himself aside just for your sake! There's a wound he buried alone without you knowing it!”
Uh! George's mouth was very itchy, even he accidentally said something that has been forbidden by Gabby so as not to tell anyone, about its fragility.
Diora, she gets hysterical as George continues to blame her. He kept beating his head, cursed his brain that forgot his best friend.
“Already, you don't blame my wife on me!” jolt Davis to George.
“Just hold on to your wife! What kind of friend can forget his own best friend! Now, he's gone. What does that mean? It means he's disappointed in you!”
