Gabby, My Fierce Girl

Gabby, My Fierce Girl
The Part 39

George sat down after pushing Gabby's body. The two now face each other.

Gabby unceasingly mocked George who had been consumed with his own words.

“Stop saying nonsense, I'm not passionate about you one bit!” George is still evasive. “See!” He pointed at something on his groin. “Tak looks prominent.” He provided concrete evidence to strengthen his statement.

“Oh yes?” Gabby folded her hands to her chest and doubted the rebuttal George gave her. “Then why is your heart beating fast and your body is so hot?”

George's brain thought hard to find a reason to deny the question that cornered him. “The weather here is so hot, of course my skin is hot.”

“Oh yes?” Again Gabby cornered him. “But now it's cloudy, tuh.” He pointed at the sky that had started to blacken.

George looked up. Damnit damnit! What other reason am I, my pride will be trampled, why is this woman not innocent and not stupid with adult things? He cursed Gabby who turned out to be out of his mind, if he had a lot of knowledge about such things.

Gabby tapped her watch with her index finger as if waiting for a response from George. “It is difficult yes to find a reason again?” taunted.

“Cih! Who's looking for excuses, I'm just thinking,” elak George.

“Thinking of finding a reason so that your pride is not trampled by me?” guess Gabby.

George looked at Gabby with eyes that seemed to say ‘where do you know?’

“Be careful if you speak, I can report you for my defamation.” George stood up too.

“Cih! So you have self-respect! Do I also have to say if I feel yours that was hardened so you can admit it?”

George widened his eyes, this woman before him was so full of saying such a thing.

George was about to wave again, but Gabby had opened her voice first. “Talk only to the wind or the swaying leaves, just give your rebuttal to those who may believe in your fake reasons. In my eyes you still have no pride, especially you are a man who breaks promises to make someone's hopes collapse and choose to bury alive the taste that once existed.” Aware of what was said, he immediately left George.

Gabby's last sentence makes George peck, his mind floated fourteen years ago. It was the only promise he ever made and the only promise he ever forgot. Where does Gabby know? George could only guess something uncertain.

“Cannot be!” George shook his head, dismissing whatever he had in mind.

George wanted to ask Gabby directly, what the sentence meant to her. Does that woman know anything about him? In a hurry he catches up with Gabby who is already away.

“Wait!” George stopped Gabby's footsteps.

Gabby clucking. “What else? You can't, don't interfere with my life? You troublemaker man!” The messengers of my heart, the messengers of my peace, the messengers of my life.
