Rena was silent and surprised for a moment. Madam Obella's desire to find her daughter caused her heart to be unbearably sad.
Rena glanced at Olivia asking for help. Olivia, as a mother, automatically better understood the pain of the separation between the flesh and blood. But for this kind of thing, he can't help.
Olivia looked at Lucas, gesturing him not to talk carelessly. Then, Olivia said. "Miss Rena was born to the Martinez family. Both of his biological parents are still alive and now the Martinez family lives out of town."
"Is that so?" muttered Madame Obella. Despite that, his eyes looked disappointed. "I'm sorry, Miss Rena."
"You don't need to apologize, I understand that you just want to find your daughter," Rena tried to comfort Mrs Obella. "You'll definitely find it, sooner or later."
Madame Obella pulled her lips, looking bitter. "I lost my daughter when she was a teenager, and since then I haven't seen her again in years. I don't even know if she's now in an orphanage or adopted by a kind person. I really wish I could find him, alive or dead."
The meal together was supposed to be a moment of happiness, but it turned a little sad when Mrs Obella called her daughter who had been missing for years.
Olivia did not know why, but seeing the figure of Mrs Obella, her heart felt uncomfortable and her chest was like clogged.
After eating, Lucas went to the cashier to pay the bill while Rena accompanied Mrs Obella to go first.
Olivia followed Lucas to the cashier.
"What are you doing here?" ask Lucas.
"The last time I said I'd take you out to eat, so of course I'd pay for it" Olivia said, handing her an ATM card to the cashier.
Lucas didn't think much of it and didn't know what Olivia was thinking.
Therefore, Lucas let Olivia pay.
"You know, right? When Madame Obella told me about her daughter. Honestly, do you have any leads?" continue the woman.
Lucas smiled when he heard Olivia's question. "Well, we haven't seen him in a long time, but it seems like you're getting smarter."
Olivia narrowed her eyes. "Don't switch topics! Answer my question dong. You have a clue about the whereabouts of Madame Obella's daughter, right? Why didn't you tell him?"
"Yes, I do have a clue. Actually I want to tell Mrs Obella that you are her missing daughter" Lucas replied in a half-belief and half-uncertain tone.
Olivia was silent for a moment, then looked at Lucas with a sharp look. "I know that you can't be trusted. Mrs Obella made a terrible mistake in trusting you to find her missing daughter. And the bigger mistake is, he still thinks of you as his son-in-law."
Lucas did not answer, just quietly let it go.
As they walked towards the door, Olivia turned her face and stared intently at Lucas. "Don't repeat your joke, say that I'm Mrs Obella's daughter."
Lucas glanced at him, "I was serious. Look in the mirror, you care so much about Mrs Obella, like a real mother and child."
