Chapter 8. Receiving Application

Maryamah and Gian are shocked when a black car stops right in his yard. They don't know if Anggun comes home with his boss.

When Anggun get out of the car, followed by the appearance of a man makes them increasingly uncomfortable. It was just a few weeks ago when Anggun got divorced.

"Assalamualaikum, Ma'am, sir," said Anggun while greeting one by one his parents.

Maryamah pulled Anggun to enter first. Because, his mother was afraid that Moiz would look for more trouble with his family. Moreover Graceful already brought another man again.

"Sir, what are you doing? Why bring a man home?" ask Maryamah with a voice that is quite soft, but able to be understood by Anggun.

"Mom, I'm sorry I didn't tell you first. He's Mr. Firhan. Graceful tops in the factory. His coming here to visit Mother," Anggun replied reasoned. If you know Firhan has proposed to her, the man could have been forcibly expelled.

"Oh, so? Are you sure there's no other purpose?"

Maryamah could not just believe it.

"Mom, even if there is another purpose, then Mr. Firhan will convey to Mother."

After hearing the Anggun narration, then Firhan is welcome to enter. Some of his gifts were placed on the living room table.

"Please sit down, sir!" maryamah's orders.

"Call Firhan, ma'am. How's Mom's condition? Sorry, just gonna see you now."

Graceful as always will go to the kitchen to prepare drinks for his guests. Although later not knowing what Firhan was talking about with his parents, Anggun just pretended not to know.

"Thank God, it's getting better, sir." There was a sense of Maryamah awkwardly calling out to Firhan alone. He felt it rude to call his daughter's boss by name alone.

"Son Firhan insisted on coming here, or because Anggun asked for it?" ask Gian.

"Oh, this is purely my will, sir. Oh yes, Father how are you too? May you always be healthy, sir."

Firhan was confused to have a word let alone. Getting here, is not like visiting or meeting his prospective in-laws. Even impressed like sales who offer merchandise. It was stiff and a little strange.

Before long, Anggun again brought a tray containing 2 cups of coffee, 2 cups of tea, and a plate of cake that happened to have been bought by Anggun before arriving home.

"Please taste it, sir!" gracefully said.

Silent for a moment because Firhan was enjoying a piece of bread then sipped his coffee which happened to be a small plate under the cup. He tries to stay calm to express his intentions and goals.

"The coffee is delicious, sir," praised Firhan to the coffee brewer, Anggun.

"Yes, Anggun is good at pleasing guests. His coffee is always good." Gian also praised his daughter.

Maryamah tries to find out what truth brought Firhan to her house. Not just visiting her, right? There must be something else.

"Son Firhan's sure he's here just looking at you?" A mother's feelings will not be easily lied to.

Anggun who happened to be sitting not far from his parents tried to give the code to Firhan. He is the one who has the right to say that he came here to ask the grace of Anggun's parents.

"Ehm, actually Firhan's sudden arrival here in addition to visiting Mother, there is something else that Firhan wants to convey."

Gian and Maryamah listened very well without commenting on anything. At least what they were afraid of regarding the Graceful work would not happen.

"Before Firhan proposed to Anggun, sir, Mom. However, Mother and Father's daughters have not given an answer because they are waiting for parental approval."

Gracefully bowed. Soon her mother will be emotional when she finds out Anggun is lying. His guess was wrong when Maryamah's voice sounded soft as she replied to Firhan's words.

"Why would Nak Firhan want to propose Anggun? Doesn't Nak Firhan know that Anggun is a recently divorced widow?" ask Maryamah.

Firhan nodded. "Because I'm a widower, ma'am. So, the status of the Graceful widow is not a problem for me."

Adem once heard their conversation. However, Anggun remained downcast. He was afraid that his parents would get angry.

Mary doesn't know what to say anymore. Just yesterday divorced, do you now have to accept another man?

"Ehm, it's best for Nak Firhan to talk to you first. I'd like to talk to Anggun for a second, would you?" Maryamah glanced at Anggun. His gaze clashed for a moment, then Anggun sank again with his fear.

"Please, Mom!"

Maryamah pulls out Graceful hands. He led her to the room. Rushing Maryamah closed the door and silenced her daughter.

"Mom, why shut up? Graceful apologies if Mr. Firhan's arrival surprises me." The reaction shown Anggun was very uninspired.

"Mom was just surprised. Why is it so quick that Mr Firhan proposed to you? Then, do you agree to accept his proposal, Nduk?

Gracefully looked up, looking at her mother with thousands of question marks from the look in her eyes. Is this a sign that both her parents approve of Anggun marrying Firhan?

"Anggun just said the same Mr. Firhan, if Anggun parents agree, then stay Anggun who will decide to accept the proposal or reject it. Grace needs the blessing of mother and father. If indeed Anggun given the opportunity to be with him, then Anggun will accept the proposal."

Maryamah actually agreed. However, to get married in the near term is unlikely. I have to wait another 2 months. At least that is to avoid the bad speech of villagers who sometimes do not know anything, but become creatures who know everything.

"Mother manut, Nduk. As long as you are happy with Mr. Firhan. I bless it."

Maryamah has obviously approved. After getting the ghost of a mechanic who does not know himself, now comes a boss who has a good car according to Maryamah.

"Women are also not willing to marry as before. Quite a KUA without the frills of a wedding reception."

"Sure, Nduk. Come on, let's go ahead!" bring Maryamah.

The grim face that Anggun showed while out with his mother made Firhan anxious. He felt that the Anggun old man had never agreed with him at all.

"How, Ma? I also spoke to Nak Firhan. Do you agree?"

As a father, Gian also took part to approve the request of the man before him. Firhan is a responsible widower. Seen from the way to approve the request Anggun although his daughter has not given the green light at all.

"Let the Grace answer, sir. As parents, we are all according to what the child says."

Gracefully getting nervous. This shouldn't have happened, but how else. For the sake of his bright future, there was no harm in Anggun explaining his situation.

"Features accept the proposal of the Father who has not been too official. However, the official application and marriage will be held 2 months later. If you agree, then I am ready. If you refuse, it's no problem for me."

Enough time for Firhan to find a new job. At least until they get married, Firhan must also immediately prepare the future home of his family.
