Hansa & Geeta

Hansa & Geeta
Chapter XXIII

I was stunned standing near the stairs with a gaping mouth.

He. Geeta just greeted me in exactly the same way as in a dream.

“You, you greeted me? Really?” I just don't believe it.

Geeta smiled widely until a row of her white teeth were seen.

Oh, he's got pretty sharp fangs.

“Aaang!!” Geeta nodded.

I still can't believe it. Does that mean I wasn't dreaming? I. get my other memories.

“C-try another greeting. Can you?”

Geeta was silent for a moment. Think on. Then nod.

“Sahmat shang! Sahmat lam!” sengas excited.

I laughed blandly as I brushed my hair. Half of me was happy, the other half I felt, I was crazy.

“Who? Who taught you?” ask again. Trying to rule out the possibility that I'm crazy.

Geeta stood up and pointed her index finger at me.

“Hangi!!!”

I grunt. What... am I crazy? Am I still dreaming? This doesn't make any sense.

Nope. Since the beginning of Geeta's existence itself has made no sense. Can I trust my own memory?

“I? I taught you?” My eyebrows shot up.

Geeta nodded for sure. Then approached me.

Pluck up!

“Hangi!”

Geeta hit me on the head slowly. Like trying to convince me that this wasn't a dream.

I looked at him for goals. Shoulders squeezing. The stiff smile on my face was still engraved clearly.

All these weird things. I still can't take it.

“You.... are you really real?”

Geeta seemed surprised by my question. His eyes were implying a deep sadness.

He's down.

Whatisthis? I was confused by her changing attitude.

“Hangi... upa Hita?” ogre.

‘Hannie forgot Geeta?’, that's what she said?

My heart answered itself.

Ja.

Yes, that's what he said. And. Yeah. Yes I forgot about you, Geeta.

That moment I realized too. The lethargic Geeta, the greeting Geeta, the worried Geeta, is real.

All the feelings he showed me. It's all too real to say dream.

I took a long breath. I was a dozen years ago, and I am very different now.

And I think Geeta just realized it now.

“Sorry..” regrets.

No. gabe. I didn't mean to say that. My mouth speaks for itself.

I don't know, my chest felt tight when I heard the light earlier.

Geeta raised her gaze. Our eyes meet. The green gem locked me up. So hypnotic.

I smiled faintly, and rubbed his head. My sudden movements took Geeta by surprise.

My hands, move by myself.

“Sorry, already doubted you.”

Geeta is in tears. The light of his eyes that had dimmed, now came back again.

He's laughing a little. Grabbing my hand that rubbed his head. Then stick it to the cheek.

“G-Geeta?..”

Geeta closed her eyes. As if I miss myself so much. Opening her eyes again, Geeta smiled warmly.

I'm stunned. That smile was similar to Grandma's.

For a moment, Geeta brought me back to the high-level delusion that Grandma was still there.

...…...

As if getting her ‘Hansa’ back, Geeta doesn't stop jumping for joy to and fro.

His eyes also shone very brightly. I got glare.

Oh, did I tell you that? Geeta was wrong to welcome me good night, so good morning.

I don't think he understands its use yet. I also fixed that.

“Alright, dinner is ready.”

I put dishes filled with perfunctory cuisine on the dining table. My head is still a little bit dizzy.

Geeta jumps off the living room couch and runs to the dining table.

“Aang!! Sangg!!!” he exuberantly.

I signaled him to calm down with a finger. Geeta picked up the signal and stood firm. Like a marching army waiting for command.

I snorted amusedly. “Ga do it. Relax, but don't install,”.

Geeta raised an eyebrow, and relaxed her shoulders. Then smile with shame.

His behavior, like a child. He is the same age as me.

Ah, wait.

I was massaging the temple. Trying to remember.

In the past, he also looked like this. Can't Geeta get old? Like Vampires? Or does he have only one human form?

I looked at him analyzing. Geeta who looked astonished tilted her head, and asked, “Aaang, Hangi?”

I'm shaking. Hand wagging.

“Nothing. Later on.”

Geeta looks disappointed. But all that was gone once I allowed him to sit down.

Geeta is pretty smart. I only taught him once, and he understood what I meant.

I hope it will be much smoother in the future.

I sat across from Geeta. “All meals, I will teach you table manners.”

Geeta looked at me with raised eyebrows.

I'm proceeding. “Ethics eat. I'll teach you how to eat right.”

Sighing, I stared straight at the pair of jeweled eyes before me.

“One moment, though I don't know when. You will be dealing with people other than me. At that time you must be a whole human being.”

I sighed rudely. Don't know if Geeta understands what I mean or not.

“I mean, at least you should disguise well.”

Geeta was silent for a moment. As if understanding my words, he nodded and smiled faintly.

“Eung,” he said while nodding.

I snorted again. I seem to underestimate Geeta too much. He's actually a lot smarter than I thought.

“Alright, we start by eating using the right hand. Then...”

For an hour, I taught Geeta the etiquette of eating. He learns quickly.

The next morning, I asked Geeta to clean the room herself. The room I prepared for him to sleep in.

If I let her sleep in the living room, she might mess up the kitchen again overnight. Like that time.

While I sweep the yard. Around the swamp there are a lot of people. Oh, don't worry. I covered the windows and doors of the kitchen with curtains.

In hopes of hiding Geeta for at least a week. I need to find a place for him. Surely it can't be in this house.

“Hannie!”

I'm turning. That's Aunt. Last night on the phone, he said it was better that the rooms of this house be rented.

It means that I don't live alone.

But, who would want to rent a room in a village far from this city? Far from tourist attractions. Far from school or college. Away from everywhere.

I smiled to welcome him. Otherwise he could be suspicious again.

“Where? Did you get her body?” ask Auntie.

I'm nodding. “Udah, Tan. Very healthy even.”

Auntie hit my arm. “Kemaren tuh Aunty really surprised to know! Suddenly your headache keeps choking on the wall. I'm afraid of a cerebral concussion, Auntie.”

I laughed a little at it.

Yesterday, it was a bit strange. I've never had a headache like that before.

But thinking about Geeta, my head suddenly hurt. And when I realized I was really back to healthy as ever.

“What a gap, right? Abis pas Aunty call doker said time no nothing.”

Aunty holding her chin. “Asaan you never did this before, Han.”

I smile at the smile. “Papa. Yesterday maybe... still surprised new times wake up instantly brought to panic,” I said looking for reasons.
