HEART

HEART
Uncovered

Adam hasn't spoken to Sophia in two days. Early in the morning his son had gone to work and he was going home after Sophia and Ariel had fallen asleep.

Sophia had prepared herself for all the possibilities. When she saw Adam at the funeral that day, Sophia knew there was no gap to hide everything. Even if he will be hated, but he cannot continue to live in the shadows of lies.

All he remembered that day was Adam's flat expression, yet clearly his eyes implied disbelief.

She loved Adam, even though her relationship with her husband was a compulsion. Even if what he loves belongs to someone else.

So that night he waited for Adam in the living room, deliberately awake to finish what had to be done immediately.

Before the night wore on, Adam came with a face that was getting colder by the day. The departure of Psyche Heartfillia also seems to have a big effect on the change in his son's attitude.

"Adam."

At first Adam looked indifferent, but before climbing the stairs, the man stopped his steps. The tone is ketus, "What?"

"Come here. I want to talk."

Adam said nothing but a hasty-sounding step as he approached Sophia signified that Adam actually did not want to discuss anything.

He's too tired.

"Sit—"

"What do you want to talk about?"

Sophia sighed softly, she could still feel a stifled fury in the man's chest.

"Mom's sorry."

"Why are you apologizing to me?"

Sophia looked up, "For everything."

Adam gritted while looking away. "Everything has happened, why apologize."

"Because I don't want to lose you."

Adam massaged his forehead, "I've lost Dad." Then looked at Sophia with a wounded look. "Why don't you just marry the one you love?!"

"Adam..."

"I wasn't born out of love, how could Mom always say that Mom loves me and Ariel?!"

And how could he love a child from his own mother's affair...

This is not fair. Psyche knew it from the beginning.

"Mom loves you, Adam! Whatever happened in the past, I'll still love you and Ariel!"

Adam's hands clenched. "I don't trust anyone anymore."

The man left, leaving Sophia who came back crying alone.

"It's dinner time, you still want to be there?"

Psyche. He nodded briefly while smiling faintly.

Jeremy took a breath. Instead of going to the dining room, he joined Psyche to see the view from the balcony.

"Suddenly you wanted to move to Manchester, something must have happened."

Jeremy is the son of his uncle who is married and settled in Manchester. The long-haired man went to college working part-time like himself. For geniuses it does not seem to take long to graduate and work in one of the leading IT companies. Luckily, the eldest Clark family was targeted by him until they married.

Jeremy seems easy to get all the blessings and happiness for his hard work so far. While Psyche seems to always bear the sins of the past and tied to the same circle.

Will...one day he also felt all that happiness?

Since this day he still leaves his heart in London.

"Do you think I hate my father?"

Jeremy's eyebrows shot up, and then he understood where this was going to end. "You love him" Jeremy replied firmly, without hesitation. "You just don't want to forgive his mistakes."

Psyche straightened her body, no longer resting on the balcony railing. "I.I think your words are right." The wind hit his face, feeling warm yet cool simultaneously. "But what if I love someone I shouldn't love?"

"What do you mean?"

Psyche hid her bitter smile, "I love a man born to a woman my father cheated on."

Jeremy's stunned.

"Before I knew everything, he and I hated each other, we were in one company." Psyche doesn't want to tell stories but she thinks she needs to share a little of this with Jeremy to get a little bit of the weight on her shoulders lifted. "He always played with women and I was challenged to conquer him. Until it is not realized that actually behind the hatred there is such a great love. Even after I found out, nothing changed with that feeling."

Psyche held her breath, after which turned her face away. Maybe that's enough, he can't let Jeremy see his tears.

"Did he love you too?"

Psyche's breath sounded heavy, accompanied by the woman's bland nudity, "Yes."

Psyche. Digesting every speech that his hearing captured. Maybe he was sincere, but what about Adam who must have known it too?

"Are you ready to forget it and open your heart to others?" Jeremy patted her on the shoulder, "I don't think you're ready for that."

Love and its consequences.

Autumn is starting to say hello. The wind blew fiercely and dropped strands of brown and yellowish colored leaves.

In a black long coat, Adam stood in front of his father's belly button after praying and kept a bouquet of flowers on it. He visited his father's grave almost once a week. Not infrequently also found a bouquet of flowers his mother's own.

Their relationship is not as warm as it used to be, but it's not so bad either. Everything should look fine because Ariel still did not understand all of this.

It seems like time is passing by. Day after day seems meaningless. Like monotony, even Adam almost forgot how to smile.

He said time could heal the wound, but the black hole in his chest still felt gaping until now.

He didn't know if it was hate or longing, which was obviously the feeling that kept him from going to sleep every night.

As he exited the burial area, Adam's steps were stopped by a sight that everyone was envious of.

Two young couples holding a child in their midst. The three walked while occasionally laughing, occasionally also lifting the body of the child to scream happily.

Adam wanted to smile but his lips felt so stiff that he just turned his face away.

They are so warm and love each other.

Love each other...

Adam pensive. He looked back at the three people who had been seen far from sight.

All at once seemed to change into a shadow of himself and Psyche who joined each other—with their children later.

A drop of tears fell back.

Adam could smile, he had that hope back.

His love is so big.

"Are you sure you're not coming tonight?" Kai, the baby-faced man caught up with Psyche who walked two steps in front of him. "It's rare that the boss treats us."

Psyche shook her head slowly. "I'm not interested."

Kai clucked, "What a daddy. Actually he wants to treat us because he has a taste for you tah—s*al! I'm flabbergasted."

Psyche grunts quietly. But he could not hide his smile. A little comforted by the man's innocence.

"I'm sorry I messed up your boss's plans, yeah."

Kai pouted. "I'm serious, Psyche. The boss likes you. But you don't seem interested at all."

Psyche eyebrows linked. Well, the love story of bosses and subordinates seems familiar. Maybe he'll be stuck in the same hole.

"When you know why you're still forcing me to come? Don't you get bribed by him, huh?"

Kai shook fast. "Of course not! I just feel like you fit him."

Psyche shrugged, "Looked fit doesn't mean you can like each other."

"yeah. You don't like it." Kai stopped his steps at a curve, "Or maybe in your heart there's someone else" he said in a joking tone.

The man waved, before disappearing at a bend. Leaving the pecking Psyche with a meaningful gaze.

Other people...

Psyche turned around as the wind gushed fiercely. Flying his black hair that was left to be draped.

Then time stopped. The familiar scent was blowing in the wind. Forcing Psyche to again stop the move. Her tears suddenly flowed, dripping down the ground.

His chest rumbled as he turned back his body. Staring at the figure without a sound, while her tears were unceasingly dripping.

Adam stood firmly at the end there, looking at him without any expression. But his presence led Psyche to believe that they still had those feelings.
