Khayansar n'a jamais perdu la
(Khayansar never runs out of reason)
“How is the condition?”
“He was in a vegetative state.”
“Avegetative conditions? That means there is damage to brain function?”
“In general vegetative conditions are indeed commonly caused by chronic brain diffusion conditions, so that a person no longer shows signs of consciousness, such as,” said the man who just checked the condition of the patient ‘istimu’ it for the most time.
“In my special patient's case this time, it's different. He was in a vegetative state when his head was not injured at all. There may be indications if his head suffered injury due to hit the floor.”
“Then now how is the condition?” ask the man who just came from Kyen. All day he went back and forth between the capitals of Robelia and Kyen, traveling overland-sea-land-sea. All of this is done to save time and gather evidence. “Before dawn breaks, you must take her out of Robelia.”
“Iya, I know,” said the man who works as a doctor.
As per the eldest request from the Pexley family, still in the same day, Khan has prepared the need to bring his “istimaw” patients to Edinburgh. Preparations are done very carefully, although they have to compete with time. Tomorrow, when dawn breaks, the Pexley family's first-born plans begin. While Khan had to leave Robelia with his “istime” patient who had been in a vegetative state or the easy term was a coma.
“Currently the condition is quite stable.” Khan kept the tools he used to check on his patients, before walking towards the colleague. “Rest first here. I'll have the waiter clean the guest room, then prepare food for you.”
“No need,” reject Khayansar. “I'll use this room.”
“You're kidding?”
“Show?” instead of answering, the eldest of the Pexley family asked back. “I use this room to be more efficient.”
“Oh, I get it.” Khan nodded his head, a sign that he understood Khayansar's intentions. “So you can all guard the key witness to dismantle the crime of Grand Concubine?”
Khayansar only cleared a small throat while keeping his sword beside the bed that was used to lay Kyara's frail body. The former servant in his family residence apparently did not change much, still having a small, frail-looking posture. “Tomorrow you will go using a sailing ship that transports export goods. My men will wait at the rat dock.”
“Hmm, I understand,” says Khan. “Now you rest first, let me call the waiter to prepare food for.”
“I'm not hungry.”
“You are not hungry, but your body needs food to process , energy” Khan said, not to be denied. Khayansar had gone back and forth from the capital to Kyen, then back to the capital from Kyen. Maybe he does not feel hungry, but his body needs nutrients to stay energized.
Khayansar was no longer given the opportunity to refuse, because after saying so, Khan rushed away. Let Khayansar rest in that place, before tomorrow executing their short and concise plan. While waiting for Khan to return, Khayansar decided to cleanse the body first. The room used happened to be a luxury type bedroom equipped with bathroom facilities in the room, as well as a fireplace. His busyness lately, made Khayansar so difficult to take care of herself. Sometimes he skipped meals, in order to strategize, establish communication, and look for evidence.
“Eat.”
After cleaning up, Khan is back. The high-legged wooden table before him had also been filled by some kind of healthy food that Khayansar used to consume. Unlike most soldiers who will enjoy processed red meat at certain meal times, Khayansar prefers to enjoy processed sea, such as fish. Especially at lunch and dinner. He will only eat processed red meat during the day, sometimes in the morning and when following dinner with colleagues.
Kyen who is his hometown is awarded with abundant sea products. While still serving as Grand Duke, Khiev de Pexley managed the largest fish shelter near Kyen pier. Knowing the good processing of fish for the growth of children, since childhood Khayansar, Cesare, and Kayena are accustomed to enjoying processed sea, especially fish, oyster, shrimp, lobster, and so on. Despite his duties as a single parent as well as Major General, and Grand Duke, the man has his own way to manage the growth and development of his three children.
“Our chef has stock of dover soles and fresh Scottish salmon. Knowing you'd be back here, I asked him to bake, then serve with spinach and zucchini. There are salads as well as fiber additions.”
Khayansar, who was still bare-chested, cleared her throat and said thank you. He and Khan are indeed old friends who already know the intricacies of each other. They were also a class when they studied at Royal Acedemy.
“You didn't eat?”
“I'm full,” Khan replied after making sure Khayansar started enjoying his food. “You will soon have a nephew, when will you plan to have a family?” suddenly, suddenly.
So suddenly asked the question, Khayansar to a small cough because he did not expect to get a surprise from the mouth of Khan.
“You forgot how old you are? If true, let me remind ..”
“More precisely, thirty-five years,” Khan said. “And you haven't shown any signs of going into a family anytime soon. Aren't you jealous of your sister, Cesare? He seemed more human since marrying a daughter from Hygria.” Khan continued on.
“You yourself when will be seriously in touch with women?” reply Khayansar.
Khan laughed when he heard it. “I'd be serious if the woman was your sister.”
“Take your sword, let's finish this conversation with a one-on-one duel.”
Khan's laughter is becoming more and more. Although effective flat and crisp, jokes Khayansar always managed to make his stomach shaken. “But, I'm serious about wanting to get close to Kayena.”
“I'm also serious about one-on-one duels.”
Khan smiled as he looked at Khayansar, who began to enjoy dover sol fish and roasted Scottish salmon served with spinach and zucchini. “If I may know, why?”
“…”
“Why can't I approach your sister? Is it because I'm ten years older than him?”
“If my sister loves a man twice her age though, I won't get in the way.”
“Then, what's the problem?”
“Because he is not finished with his past,” Khayansar said. He stopped eating for a moment, because Khan looked so curious. “Do not start a relationship with someone who is not finished with his past, My sister is included in it.”
“Not now is your sister single?”
Khayansar nodded briefly, before returning to enjoy the food made impromptu by the chef at the Khan residence, but his interlocutors still looked curious.
“Even if my sister's relationship is over, but her past is not finished.”
Not understanding, Khan was even more confused. Seeing that, a faint smile fell on Khayansar's lips. Finished with his meal, he fixed his own dirty cutlery. Collect it as one, before it is taken to a table. Usually the waiter will pick it up.
“Don't chase my Brother,” he said again, this time it sounds like a warning. “ Long before you were interested in my sister, there was already someone else who gave up his whole soul and body for my sister's happiness. Now is the time that guy made my sister sure of him.”
After saying so, Khayansar again improved his appearance. He then walked to the place where he had kept his sword, with his gaze fixed on the frail body that was lying on the bed.
“Khan.”
The owner of the name that was made to wonder, said briefly. “What's up?”
“There are additional tasks for you.”
“What is it?” Khan asked with a confused face.
“Before dawn breaks, I need the body of a woman who has the exact same body as her.”
Khan turned his head, seemingly researching the goods for a moment. A few moments later, he nodded enthusiastically. “Take it easy. I still have the woman's body in the lab. Most likely there are those who have the same body proportions as him.”
“Good,” said Khayansar with a mysterious grin created on her lips. “All have been prepared carefully. Tomorrow just lure them all in, to get into the trap."
