Chapters 1. Mother's Travel

Adelia runs into the street looking for help to take her mother to the hospital. Not a single neighbor ignored him. Everyone said busy.

Adel had been looking for a car that could carry his mother, but the results remained the same. The girl could not help her crying. She's afraid of losing her mother. The only family he has. Dad left forever when he was in elementary school.

From a distance Adel saw a rickshaw, he ran and stopped the pedicabeer. Adel asked for help to be taken to the hospital. Luckily, the father helped him.

Adel climbed into the bike rickshaw to his house. After reaching the house, Adel and the rickshaw man lifted his mother's body into the rickshaw. Along the way Adel's tears fell down his cheeks.

"Yes, God. This is the fate of the poor. No one wants to help. Just try to ask for help people are, all vying to help," murmured Adel to himself.

It was almost an hour before they arrived at the hospital. Understandably, the old man's energy was unable to raise a rickshaw. With the help of the father, he again lifted his mother's body to the IGD.

Adel gave money to the Father. However, the old man did not want to accept it.

"Save it, son. You need that more. I sincerely helped," said the old man. Adelia was speechless. He was deeply moved by the old man's kindness. Just a thank you he can say.

"May God give you health and make your provision, sir" Adel prayed after the father left.

Adel waited for the doctor who was checking on the health of the mother. Not long after, the doctor came out.

"Who is the patient's family on behalf of Bu Asih?" ask the Doctor.

"Me, Doc" replied Adel.

"Your mother suffered from complications and had to undergo surgery immediately so as not to spread to other parts of the body again" said the Doctor.

"What's that pain, Doc?" ask Adelia.

"Complication is a disease that appears as a domino effect of certain diseases that occur in the body. This is because every organ in the body is interconnected, if one of them is affected by the disease and experience a decrease in performance, it can eventually affect the performance of other organs. Should be immediately operated so that organs that are still healthy are not exchanged," replied the doctor.

"Alright, Doc. So what should I do?" Adelia asked back. He looks very nervous. Worried about his mother's condition.

"Go to the administration, ask what you should do as a surgical procedure," said the doctor.

The doctor then left in front of Adelia, she said goodbye because she would do other patient surgeries. The girl walked quickly to the administration. She enrolled her mother for surgery.

"As a requirement Mbak must pay a down payment of three million" said the woman behind the registration table.

"Sir, can't I have an operation if I haven't given a down payment?" ask Adelia.

"Can't, Ma'am. That is indeed the requirement of this hospital," the woman replied.

Adel pulled her hair in frustration. From where he's getting three million in the near future. During this time Adel only worked in a mini market. By simply relying on an SMU diploma, that job was all he could do.

"Alright, Ma'am. I will work immediately. I'm going first. This is my cell phone number. Who knows if it will be needed" said Adel.

Adel slowly left the hospital. He thought about where he got the money. Borrowing it on his superior is impossible. His boss is stingy and greedy.

However, Adel was not desperate. He tried to get loans from all the neighbors. No one is willing to give a loan.

The girl still tried to borrow from her boss, as expected, the employer did not want to give. Adel no longer knows where to look for money.

Two hours have passed. A hundred thousand loans he did not get. Adelia sat in the garden, her tears could no longer be weathered.

"Mother, I'm sorry your son. I haven't been able to get a loan for your operation. Where else would I look?" ask Adelia to herself.

Adel held his phone. The screen has cracked and opaque. Most if sold only get three hundred thousand rupiah. He also needs communication. As he thought about it, his phone rang.

Adel lifted her up and heard the voice of a woman. Ask Adel to go to the hospital immediately. The girl immediately stood up from her seat and ran looking for the taxi driver.

Half an hour's drive, he arrived at the hospital. Adel goes straight to the IGD room. A doctor came out of the room. The girl approached immediately.

"The patient's family on behalf of Bu Asih?" the doctor asked when he saw Adel.

"Yes, Doc. How's my mother doing?" adel asked with a trembling voice.

"I'm sorry, your mother has left. Hopefully you can sincerely accept all this," said the Doctor.

Adelia had no idea what the doctor was saying anymore. May it be dark for him. Her husband is about to collapse. It was all like a nightmare. The girl ran into where her mother was lying. His body was covered in a white cloth.

Adelia felt lonely at her mother's funeral. Not many people came because they were poor. Only, Adelia was still grateful for some neighbors who chose to come to the funeral. They even gave her some fresh flowers to put on top of her mother's grave.

Adelia sat beside the tomb, staring at the yellow ground covering her mother's lifeless body. He reflected on all the wonderful memories they had together. Adelia was eager to hug her mother, but she had to be content with just staring at her grave. Adelia's last wish was to hear her mother speak to her once more.

But the world is not perfect as Adelia wanted. He had to face the fact that his mother was dead. He had to learn to live without his mother.

Adelia stood beside her mother's grave, looking around at the quiet cemetery. He doesn't know what to do next. The girl only felt heavy because she lost the figure of her mother who loved so much.

"Good way, Mother. From today I promise to make a lot of money, I will conquer the world with my money. No one can insult and belittle me. I have to be a successful person" Adelia told herself.
