Chapter 8. Fried Noodles

"Thank you, sir. Next time you need a friend to go to a party, I will be happy to accompany you" said Adel.

"I would think a thousand times to take you to a party. Not just to help, but to trouble me" Daniel said.

Adel smiled at the face of his boss who was pouting in annoyance. He left the apartment with a happy heart. Never had he held ten million dollars. It felt like quickly cashing out the check, but what the power of the holiday.

Arriving at the boarding room, Adel jumped up in excitement. He did not expect, within ten working days had earned ten million dollars.

Adel cleaned the room with pleasure. He saw the money in the wallet there was still five hundred thousand, the rest of the gold sales yesterday. The girl went straight to the supermarket to buy ingredients to make seafood fried noodles. He wanted to cook for Mr. Daniel as a thank you.

In the morning Adel came with three bushels of fried noodles. One for Mr. Daniel, one for Mr. Candra and one for himself. As he walked towards the office pantry, the other employees on looked at him with investigative eyes. Adel asked why everyone was looking at him that way.

"Both bring food. Who's that for?" ask a female employee named Desy.

"To Mr. Daniel and Mr. Candra," Adel answered honestly.

"Oh, would bribe not to be fired," said another employee.

Adel just smiled in response to the words of his friend. Free to defend, endless. He then walked away from the pantry after copying the noodles to the plate and arranged them to be interesting.

After the noodles were arranged, he made a cup of coffee and took it into Mr. Daniel's study. The boss was busy in front of the laptop.

"Good Morning, sir," said Adel cheerfully.

"Good afternoon. You're five minutes late for coffee, you pay me to cut" Daniel said in a voice.

"It's only been five minutes, too, sir. Besides, I was late because I had to make fried noodles for breakfast, Mr." replied Adel.

"I didn't ask for breakfast!" snapped Daniel.

Adel nodded at the answer of his superior. Mr. Daniel never asked to be put in.

"Are you sure you don't want the fried noodles?" ask Adel.

"Who said he didn't want to, I just said he didn't ask you to cook it. Here!" answer Daniel.

Adel put the noodles and a glass of coffee in front of his boss. He cleaned up the other place in the room.

"Mmm, so good” praise Daniel after tasting the fried noodles. “You have talent in cooking Adel. You should try making other foods as well nih.”

Adel smiled, because only this time Mr. Daniel did not speak loudly. Praising him.

“Thank you sir, but I haven't thought of making another meal” Adel said with a smile. “Currently, I still have to focus on work only.”

“Truely, Adel. You need to focus on your work. But, never forget your hobby ya” said Daniel as he ended his breakfast.

Adel and Daniel exchange views briefly before Adel goes back to focus on his work.

A few minutes later, Daniel approached Adel who was cleaning the sofa.

“What's up, Sir?” adel asked, turning his head towards Daniel.

“I noticed that you often bring books or novels to work. Do you like to read?” ask Mr. Daniel.

It seemed that the boss had started to forget about his angry nature. So that you can talk relaxed.

“Oh yes, Sir. I like to read. Especially novels and nonfiction books” replied Adel.

“Wah, very good. I also like to read novels. You like to read what novel, Adel?” ask Daniel with enthusiasm.

“I love reading romance fiction novels, Sir. And I was reading a new novel I bought yesterday,” Adel replied.

“Is the story exciting?” daniel asked again, this time looking very interested.

“Very, Sir. If Mr. Daniel wants, I can lend this novel,” Adel said while giving the novel he brought to Daniel.

“Thank you Adel. I will definitely read it tonight,” Daniel said as he put the novel on his desk.

The next day, Daniel returns to work with a novel loaned by Adel. He seemed very excited when reading the novel and only stopped when it was time for lunch.

“Adel, this novel is amazing. I can't stop reading it!” daniel said, returning the novel to Adel the next day. He was no longer as angry as usual.

“I'm glad Mr. Daniel likes. It turns out that we have something in common in our reading tastes, yes, sir,” Adel said with a small smile.

“Truely, Adel. We can exchange our favorite books later,” said Daniel.

They also started talking about things that were not related to their work. They even exchange information about the movies and dramas they like.

Daniel thinks being able to connect with Adel is fun and makes working in the office a lot easier. He felt that as long as Adel worked with him, he did not have to worry about Adel's performance.

They go back to their work activities, but there are different feelings between the two. They feel more familiar with each other and can appreciate each other.

From that day on, Adel often brought recipes and novels to work. They keep exchanging information and love moments like that. Adel was even one of the candidates to be Daniel's adviser when he faced problems.

Working with Daniel was no longer a daunting task for Adel, but a fun challenge. He felt that he could learn many things from Daniel, not only about their work, but also about life.

Until this morning, Daniel again asked Adel to face him.

"What's up, sir," Adel said as he stood before the man.

"I've got work out of town, and I'm attending my friend's wedding. I want you to come with me. We'll be gone for three days. This includes work from the office. I hope you don't reject it" Daniel said.

"Three days? Then we'll stay the night, sir?" ask Adel.

"of course. There's no way we can sleep in the car" replied Daniel.

Adel scratched his head that was not itchy. Three days with his boss. What should he do, accept or refuse? Think Adel.
