The man Zoe and Edrik saved, stubbornly suicidal so Zoe was forced to make him faint.
"You wouldn't be mad I did this would you?" zoe asked as she lifted the man up like a sack of rice.
Edrik stood up and patted his pants from the dust. "Come, we'll go back to the temple. Looks like he needs enlightenment from the priests and temples."
Upon arrival at the temple, Edrik and Zoe put the man in a special patient room provided by high priest Rohan.
"This guy-"
"Do you know him, priest?" ask Edrik.
"Where did you find him?" ask high priest Rohan.
"He's going to kill himself on the bridge near the temple, it looks like he's depressed over the repeated mention of the god hating him."
"It looks like I should call the high priest, can you wait for him for a moment? I'm afraid he's running away."
"Okay, I'll wait."
"Thank you." Said high priest Rohan and then ran to the place of the great priest.
Zoe and Edrik waited patiently for her.
While at the duchy of Vilvred, Ella meets her father who is sitting daydreaming in the study.
Ella knocked on the open door. "Dad."
Duke Vilvred awoke from the daydream and saw his beloved daughter coming. "Ella, what's wrong?"
Ella sees her father's face aging in less than a week because of Daniela's actions. "Dad, is our place going bankrupt."
Duke Vilvred let out a long sigh upon hearing his daughter's question. "Dad doesn't know, but take it easy-our duchy won't be ruined."
"Dad, I've spoken to the crown prince. He won't break off our engagement, I can calm down."
Duke Vilvred heaved a sigh of relief. "It's good to hear that, father is worried because the emperor attaches great importance to power. If anything happens to our family, father-"
"Dad, what about brother's place?"
"Why with him?"
"Dad sent people to watch the place, didn't you see the weirdness inside the house?"
"No, unfortunately not. Only Daniela's in and out of that house."
"Will father's men be able to enter the house as long as brother is not home?"
"No, I can't do it."
"Why?"
"Although from the inside there was no movement, outside the gate there were the empress' bodyguards to protect Daniela. I can't act recklessly."
"That's it."
"What's wrong? Why are you suddenly asking? Is there something strange about him?"
"No, I was just curious. It seems like you're living peacefully, and then you wonder what all the treasures you've taken, including the compensation."
"Dad doesn't know, trying to find out whether the queen is protecting him. It sucks."
"So, now we don't have much money?"
"Dad is embedding the business elsewhere, just that the revenue is not as much as it used to be. The land and property of Aelthred's family had been taken away, Daniela was greedy like her mother."
"Dad, can't you cooperate with brother?"
"Cooperation?"
"Yes, dad volunteered to help manage in exchange for a few percent. Big brother is still fifteen years old and doesn't know anything, so dad can show up and help him."
Dahi duke Vilvred contorted disapprovingly.
"In addition, if father can take a good impression in the eyes of the empress, won't it benefit our family even more?"
"Yes, my own father told me - once I speak, I can't reply. It seems like brother is still thinking about father position."
Duke Vilvred laughed. "True, my daughter is smart."
Ella smiled.
Back at the temple, the great priest wearing an owl mask had already come to the patient room where fortunately there was only one person - the man who attempted suicide.
"This-"
High priest Rohan nodded. "True, he's the son of high priest Rou."
Edrik frowned in disbelief. "Can the temple priest get married? Can't they get married?"
The high priest Rohan shook his hands casually. "If the pastor is young, they should not marry because they are still in education. If anyone breaks, be expelled from the temple. For the high priest and the high priestess, allowed to marry but must have one wife for life."
Zoe doesn't believe in her hearing. "Then why do so many of the high priests look unmarried?"
"Ah, that's because we put god and social activities first so we don't have the opportunity to find a partner, rather it's comfortable with the job now." Laughter high priest Rohan.
The high priest suddenly spoke. "Are you awake?"
The man got up and looked to the left. "Where is this?"
"The main temple of the Helcia empire, are you okay?" ask high priest Rohan. "Your name is Andi, isn't it?"
"A-you know my name?" ask Andi.
"Of course I know, your father is high priest Rou. Why did you come to the Empire? Is there some business?"
Andi shook her head. "I have committed a great sin that cannot be forgiven, even the gods are reluctant."
"Where do you know gods won't forgive before trying?" ask high priest Rohan.
"Dad said, he said there was no place for a dissident child like me. I must die."
Edrik asked. "What evil did you do until the gods and high priests got angry?"
Andi lowered her head, unwilling to answer.
"What about your sister? Where is he?" ask the high priest.
Andi clasped tightly onto the blanket. "Nobody is no longer in this world."
"Why? Is he sick?" ask Edrik.
"Dad killed him." Andi replied with a trembling tone. "I-I told you to, go kill brother."
"Why do you obey him?" ask Edrik.
"What can I do? I can only obey by father's orders, if I don't obey, the gods will be angry." Reply Andi with a trembling tone. "Sister is also wrong, if you don't make mistakes, your life won't just disappear."
"You-you"
Zoe tried to hold Edrik. "Please calm yourself."
"You're told to kill people because of dad but you're also afraid of gods? Doesn't the god hate murder?"
"Ta-but if left unchecked, brother's sin will flow directly to father. It's a matter of family honor." Answer Andi.
"Why did you kill yourself all the way to this place?" ask the high priest.
Andi lowered his head, not answering.
Edrik, who had regained his composure, offered to the high priest. "What if I interrogate him? I'm annoyed to see him keep quiet!"
High priest Rohan refused loudly. "It's a temple thing, you can't interfere. Thanks for helping him, you can come back."
Zoe pulled Edrik out of the room. "First prince, please calm your emotions. The boy was still young, naturally obeying his father's orders."
Edrik knew that children of Andi's age who were still around a dozen years old, could not decide for themselves, could only be accompanied by parents. But the problem is not all adults deserve to be parents.
