Shaking Bed Before Sleeping On It

For people who want to sleep, it is intended to brush the mattress with the inside of the sheath three times and read the basmalah. This is based on the hadith of Abu Hurairah, the Prophet said:

"If any of you should come to his bed, he should wipe his bed with the inside of its sheath, for he knows not what is in it, and say:

بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّى وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِى

Latin reading: Bismika rabbi wadha'tu janbii

It means: "By Your name, O my Lord, I lay down my back" (HR. Bukhari no. 247 and Muslim no. 2710).

Reading Prayer Before Sleeping

The next practice before going to bed is to read the prayer before going to bed, which is 'Bismika allahumma amuutu wa ahya'. Sleep is a state between conscious and unconscious.

As in one of the hadith narrated from Hudzaifah, it says:

كَانَ النَّبِىُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَالَ « بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا » . وَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ مَنَامِهِ قَالَ « الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِى أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا ، وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ »

It means: "When the prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam was about to sleep, he said a prayer: 'Bismika allahumma amutu wa ahya (In Your name, O Allah I die and I live).' And when he woke up, He said: "Alhamdulillahilladzii ahyaana ba'da maa amatana wailaihi nusyur (All praise be to Allah who has brought us back to life after turning us off, and to Him is the place to return)." (CHR. Bukhari. 6324).

Reading Chair Verses Before Sleeping

The virtue of reciting the verse before going to bed is, God protects us from Satan's interference until the morning. This is in accordance with the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet confirmed the following words:

فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَاقْرَأْ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِىِّ لَنْ يَزَالَ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ حَافِظٌ ، وَلاَ يَقْرَبُكَ شَيْطَانٌ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ

It means: "If you want to lie on your bed, read the verse of the Chair, for with it you are always guarded by Allah Ta'ala and the sheath will not be able to approach you until morning," (HR. Bukhari).

Reading a Short Letter Before Sleeping

The Prophet's pre-sleep practice is to read short letters such as Al Ikhlas, Al Falaq, and An Nas. These three letters never forget to be spoken by the Prophet before going to bed.

كَانَ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ جَمَعَ كَفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ نَفَثَ فِيهِمَا فَقَرَأَ فِيهِمَا ( قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ) وَ ( قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ) وَ ( قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ) ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ بِهِمَا مَا اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ يَبْدَأُ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَوَجْهِهِ وَمَا أَقْبَلَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Sleep Immediately After Isya Prayer

The next practice is about sleep time that is not too late or not too fast. Narrated from Abi Barzah, he said:

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - كَانَ يَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا

It means: "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam hates sleeping before praying 'Isya and chatting afterwards." (CHR. Bukhari).

Fahmi was also involved with hugging Asifa. They are very tired with their full day activities. Even today they have taken junub bath 2 times, even though it was midnight. They fall asleep in a clean, fragrant state so that they feel comfortable in their deep sleep.

"Yes, thank you very much."She said with a sweet smile and kissed her husband's hand gently.
