Zainab bint Jahsi, is one of the wives of the Prophet who is known as a Muslim who is active in working and career. Although the Prophet gave a sufficient living. Ummul this believer continues to gather sustenance because of his desire to give alms.

Zainab bint Jahsh was the daughter of the Prophet's aunt, Umaimah bint Abdel Muttalib. She was the widow of Zaid bin Harithah who was none other than the adopted son of the prophet. Allah married the Messenger of Allah to Zainab from the seventh heaven and made the marriage a proposition about the annulment of the law of adopted children which was later enshrined in the Qur’an.

When she became the wife of the Prophet, Zainab was known as a tenacious worker. He is diligent and very creative making handicrafts. If the current times may be his work as a home industry. From his work, he was able to produce many treasures which he later gave in the way of God. Among the Prophet's wives, Zaenab was the most devoted to the length of his hand.

One day, Prophet Shallallahu alaihi wa sallam said to Aisha radhiyallahu'anha, “The person who caught up with me the fastest (died after me) among you (the wives of the Prophet) is the longest hand.”

Aisha then eagerly met and gathered the wives of the prophet. He wondered who the Messenger of Allah meant. Each Ummul Mukminin then measured the length of their hands using bamboo wood. The results of these sizes are then compared to each other.

Aisha, Zainab, Umm Salamah, Maimunah, Juwairiyah, Saudah, Hafshah and Shafiyah measured the length of their hands. As a result, Saudah bint Zam’ah is the longest hand size. They also thought, It is Saudah who will first follow the Prophet to His mercy.

Time passed, and then came the day of sorrow, the day of the Prophet's death. A few years later, it was not Saudah who died, but Zainab bint Jahsh. Among the believers, Zainab was the first to follow the Prophet.

At that time, the wives of the prophets realized that what the Prophet meant in the hadith rumored Aisha was not the length of the hand based on size, but the length of the hand which means generous because of love of charity. Zainab is known as a woman who is very fond of giving and doing good.

“It turns out, the longest hand between us is Zainab because she works with her own hands and is alms with the results of her work,” said Aisyah.

The nature and deeds of Zainab were admired by many people, including the wife of the Prophet. Even Zainab is one of the most important believers in the side of the Prophet. This was acknowledged by Aisha, she said,

“He (Zainab bint Jahsh) equaled my position on the side of the Messenger of Allah, and I have never seen a woman who was better in religion than Zainab, and who was more pious than him, more honest in his words, and prefer to connect the strings of Abraham, greater almsgiving and more diligent in pushing himself to do something with which he alms and preaches to Allah.” (CHR. Muslim).
