I quickly tidied up my desk before the return hour was over. My job as a book publishing editor is to make my desk filled with files of novels or books to be published. This is my last day at work, before I take a week off. Luckily, I managed to finish half my work. The rest I leave it to the parter and my best friend, Uni. And once again, I'm lucky to have a very good working partner.
"When are you back?" Uni asked who was looking at me while tidying up the workbench.
"If the show is over. You promised me you'd come?" My word.
"Yes, if my husband can. By the way, congratulations. I can't wait to see you put on your wedding dress." He said with a smile.
Five more days is my wedding day. I had been dating Rian for five years and we decided to get married. Tomorrow I will return to my hometown in Subang. I have booked my trip and prepared for my departure. Uni and I rushed out of the office after I cleaned my desk. We talked about a lot of things about household issues that have been passed by the Union. She and her husband, Arief, have been married for seven years. Although sometimes they fight in front of me, not a single problem can separate them. I wish I was like the two of them, able to go through all the household problems and love each other forever.
"What percentage of the preparation?" ask Uni.
"Around 70%. The invitation has been spread all over. "I replied.
"Thankful deh. Ati-ati on the street, yeah kabarin if you need help, okay?" uni said.
"OK." I replied.
We split up in front of the office building. I saw Arief waiting outside the parked car while opening the car door for Uni. Arief waved his hand towards me as his eyes caught my figure. I returned the wave of his hand and entered the taxi that was in front of me.

My phone didn't stop ringing when I was packing my clothes. I saw Rian's name on my phone. I called her back. It didn't take long, Rian immediately raised my call.
"Hello. Nay. "greet Rian.
"Yes, why did you call me so many times? Everything's all well prepared, right?" my many.
"When are you coming home?" rian asked without answering my question.
"Tomorrow I'll go home, this is also done. Why?"
"Oh, that's it."
"Just 'oh, that'? What are you, anyway? I think there's something you want to talk to me about."
"Well if you come home."
Rian then hung up the phone without waiting for my answer. It has been a few days Rian looked strange and rarely contacted me.Now he is very strange. It's not usual for Rian to hang up without saying romantic words, like I love you, i love you, or something. Rian had just hung up his phone like he was in a hurry. I also patted my cheek so as not to be prejudiced or think about things that are not. I rushed to sleep after I put all the equipment in the bag. I put an alarm on my phone to keep it from getting late. I can't get up early without an alarm. I turned off the room lights and closed my eyes so that tomorrow I wouldn't be late.
The next morning when I was ready to leave, my phone rang. I saw dad make a call. I was about to pick it up but suddenly my phone died. Last night I forgot to charge my phone and I left without telling my mom and dad. The journey to Subang takes two hours to travel because by chance the toll road is not so crowded and jammed. When I got home, my mom and dad were sitting in the living room talking about something.
"Dad, Mom, Naya's home!" I was greeted with a hug and a happy smile.
They greeted me and told me to go into the room to rest. It's been a long time since I've come home and slept in my own room. I only went home a few times after getting a job. I usually call my mom and dad over the phone and send them the money I set aside for them. They do not need my money but there is no harm in me giving a little of my income to them . My room was the same as when I left it. Wall paint, books on the table, and some dolls as my bedmate. I was taking out my clothes when the door was knocked. I saw my mother standing there smiling. He went into the room and sat on my bed. Mother didn't say anything as long as I took out my clothes. But from the look in his eyes and the look in his face implied that something was bothering him and he wanted to tell me.
“Mother, what's up?” my many.
“Nothing. “ the answer is brief with a smile.
I approached and sat down beside him. I held both of his hands which were beginning to wrinkle. Her aging face could not take away her former beauty.
“If there's a problem Mother told Naya. What's up?” my many.
“Begini , Nay. Your marriage and Rian's soon. But, Rian never showed up here.” Said Mother.
“Maybe Rian is busy, Bu.” My answer.
“Iya, I hope so too. But there's one more thing I want to tell you. Your sister, Toni. She said she saw Rian with another woman a few days ago. I'm worried that Rian might hurt your feelings, Nay.” Said Mother again.
“No way, Mom. After Naya, Rian is not so. “, I said, although in my heart I was doubtful.
“Yah's...I hope so too. Yes, you rest aja.” Mom said, he then came out of my room.
In the morning I woke up when someone knocked on my door many times. I heard Mom calling, waking me up. I got up and got out of bed. I saw on my phone screen, there was not a single message from Rian like I expected. I ignored her even though it felt like there was something strange about Rian lately. I knew in two days we were going to meet at the sewer but somehow I felt uneasy. After the shower, I did not eat my breakfast and rushed out of the house.
“Where are you going early in the morning? No breakfast anyway.” Said Mother.
“I'm going to Rian's house first, Bu.” My word.
“Eh, no. Pamali. Two more days you also meet at pelaminan, why meet. Can't!” rejoicing
I did not kidnap her words and rushed out of the house. My house and Rian's not so far away that I only need fifteen minutes on foot. My camp is still the same as when I left it's just that the road has started on the asphalt. Previously this road was rocky and badly damaged so it was very difficult to pass for motor vehicles. During the trip to Rian's house some residents who still remember me now greet me. Several times I stopped to say hello and chatted briefly with them. I miss moments like this. When I returned to the city, this moment I could not feel like it was in my current village. I saw Rian's house begin to appear. I entered the courtyard and was greeted by Tini's mother, Rian's mother.
“Yes Allah, add gareulis (beautiful) prospective mother-in-law.” He said while hugging me.
“Alhamdulillah, healthy, Mom. Mom how are you?” my many.
“Alhamdulillah, healthy, jag-jag is mother mah. By the way, why did you come here? Pamali oruh neng.” He said, letting me sit on the porch.
“I'd like to see Rian for a minute, Mom. Talk about marriage preparation. Rian repeatedly contacted but not answered.” I clearly.
“Oh, that (that). Rian was at the village hall, he said there was a need. Followed by, neng.” Say
The village hall was not far from Rian's house so I paid my respects and rushed there. Actually this is a taboo for the soon-to-be married to meet but I have to see for myself the state of Rian so that my anxiety is slightly reduced. The village hall and the Rian house are only separated by rice fields. As I walked, I accidentally saw two people fighting in a hut that farmers often used to rest. I squinted my eyes, it seemed like I knew the figure that was there. Without a second thought, I rushed closer to the hut. My distance was now not far from the hut so I could hear clearly what the two people were talking about. Those two are apparently people I know. That's Rian and Erni, my high school friends. They had a big fight while accompanied by the sound of Erni's sobs. I was angry to hear their talk. I diffused my emotions first and then came out of my hiding place and approached them. Erni and Rian looked surprised by my arrival, especially Rian.
“I heard it all.” Short words.
“Nay, I can clear everything.” Rian.
“Not necessary. Tonight come to my house. You two.” I turned around and left them both.
I heard Rian's voice calling my name. My heart felt tight and something stuck my throat. Without my tears flowing. I wiped my tears quickly and walked over to Rian's residence. Tini's mother was still sitting on the porch chair while wagging the wooden fan in her hand. I wiped my tears and acted like nothing had happened. I approached him while smiling at him. He returned my smile and approached me.
“Who met Rian?” tanyakanya.
“Udah, Mom. Later the same night Mom can you go home? Someone wants me to obrolin. Important.” My word.
Tini's mother nodded quickly with a smile. I was quick and went back home. Arriving at home I asked my sister, Toni, to do something. Toni nodded, understanding my orders. He hurried away at my command and I entered the house. I went to the refrigerator and got a bottle of mineral water. I took the water right out of the bottle. I drank the water over and over again until the feeling in my throat disappeared. Mother rebuked me and said I was disrespectful for drinking straight from the bottle. I didn't really care about my mother's nagging and avoided eye contact with her. My mom must know I've been crying and I don't want to explain that right now. I avoided it and went into my room. I can't hold it anymore. I also cried while closing my mouth so that my mother would not hear my cry. My chest hurts. My feelings are raging and I'm losing control. Angry, upset, sad, everything mixed into one. A few minutes later I heard someone knocking on my door.
“Kak, it's Tony. Let Tony in.” His word.
I wiped my tears and opened the door for her. Tony came in and closed my door. He saw my eyes. Without saying a word, Tony hugged me. I also went back to crying in her arms. I don't know if Tony knows what I'm dealing with right now or not. But most importantly, he hugged me and said everything would be fine. Tony corroborated me and told me all the information I wanted to hear. I listened carefully. My current sadness turned into anger.
“Ton, tell Mom and Dad for tonight. They will have guests. “, I said.
Tony nodded and walked out of my room after patting me on the shoulder with a smile. I took a deep breath and prepared for everything that was going to happen tonight.
Time changed night. Mother served some drinks and snacks on the living room table. I saw that Tini's mother and her husband had come, and so did Rian. Rian lowered his head and turned his eyes away from me. I let them in.
“Neng, what is the same Mother you invited here?” Ask Tini's mom.
“Yes, mom is also confused. What's up, anyway?” ask mom.
“Later I'm clearin. I'm waiting for one more guest.” My word.
Not long after, they came. They are Erni's parents. Ernie came with them. I asked Tony to make sure Erni came tonight and everything went according to plan. I allowed both of Erni's parents to sit down. My parents and Rian's parents threw eyes at each other because of this confusing situation. After all the gathering, I stood in front of them. Tony stood by me and patted me on the shoulder as if giving me strength.
“Good. Good night everyone.” My broom.
No one's saying. Everything was silent and astonished.
“You must be confused as to why I gathered you here, especially for Erni's parents. I want to make an important announcement to all of you. That's my and Rian's wedding, LIT!”
