Legend of the Moon Sword

Legend of the Moon Sword
Border Forest

"Oho~ what is this?" Zhi Yuo chuckled, his curiosity growing. His feet stepped one tread towards the forest, while Shu Cao stared at him with his body frozen from behind.

"You are crazy! Don't go there!" Shu Cao whispered, trying to call Zhi Yuo who did not even hear him at all.

"Oh, come on~" Zhi Yuo snorted, then he turned to Shu Cao and glanced at him with a deadly smile.

"Time to challenge yourself."

The sound of birds is earthy, the sound of insects is also increasingly noisy. The leaves are getting thicker, until the sunlight is no longer visible, blinding the eyes.

Shu Cao almost tripped over the tree roots a few times. Now he took a step wider in order to take care of himself. While Zhi Yuo even walked very leisurely, and it made Shu Cao astonished instead of playing.

Suddenly right in the middle of the forest, Zhi Yuo stopped his steps. Shu Cao's forehead shriveled, curiously asking.

"What's wrong? Why quit?".

Shu Cao did not even hear a reply, all he got was...

"Shhhh..!" Zhi Yuo gestured for silence.

Shu Cao did not understand what was going on. He looked at Zhi Yuo who was now looking around with a suspicious look. The feathers of Shu Cao stood up.

"Hey.. What's up?" Shu Cao asked again, this time more carefully as he had more goosebumps.

Zhi Yuo quickly looked at him sharply, with a soft but piercing voice he was warning Shu Cao.

"Close your ears, quick."

Shu Cao further did not understand what was going on. He looked at Zhi Yuo with a frightened look.

"You...! Don't mess with me! Just tell me, what's the matter?!" Shu Cao's.

"Hurry up, cover your ears." Zhi Yuo kept warning him.

Shu Cao's entire body trembled violently. With cold sweaty hands, he lifted it up to his ears, covering both ears tightly according to what Zhi Yuo ordered.

A cold wind suddenly hit. A black shadow passed before him. Shu Cao could not see what was happening, but he could hear a cold wind blowing into his ears. Fortunately, it was now covered by his hands.

Almost inaudible whispers run through his ears. It was like the sound of a group of people, it was like being in a crowd. The whispering voice grew stronger, Shu Cao almost removed both his hands from his ears. Somehow, among those whispers were the words of the instigator. Whether to tell him to kill, surrender, or commit suicide.

A cold sweat poured down Shu Cao's forehead. His whole body no longer had any energy. The tighter he closed his ears the louder the whisper was heard.

Zhi Yuo stared at the scene with a cold look. He saw Shu Cao's entire body, black shadows seemed to surround him with whispers of their mainstay instigator. As the numbers grew, they knew that Shu Cao was terrified at the moment.

Zhi Yuo sighed harshly, "Troubles."

With a single action, he pulled the hilt of his sword until it gave off a light clinking sound. Suddenly the atmosphere became quiet.

Zhi Yuo continued to draw his sword until half of it, then the shadows went away from there leaving Shu Cao.

Feeling that it was safe, Zhi Yuo put his sword back in and patted Shu Cao's shoulder to resuscitate the boy.

"Secondity is safe, be aware."

Shu Cao flinched. He turned his head quickly to the left, staring at his sweaty palms. His body that was stiff returned to its original state. With a breath of breath he was still thinking, what was going on with him.

With fear Shu Cao asked, "W-what was that?".

Zhi Yuo flicked his shoulders then replied casually, "Spirit son."

"Huh?".

Feeling Shu Cao did not understand what he meant, Zhi Yuo finally tried to explain.

"Children spirit, they are hordes of subtle creatures that have the ability to incite humans to do bad deeds. But even so they are still the weakest of all the subtle-levels. If we dare and heed all his incitement, they'll leave out of fear."

Shu Cao could only gawk when he heard it. So that was the spirit of the child? It seemed like he had heard of it from a fairy tale that his aunt would often tell. He thought it was just a story. But unexpectedly, it really exists.

"Damn it, just remembering it gives me goosebumps..." Shu Cao.

Zhi Yuo flicked his hands with a light laugh, "Here you go, we better take a short break."

"You wait here, I'll look for fruits." Zhi Yuo turned around, leaving Shu Cao.

"Remember, don't be affected." The message before you go away.

"Hm... This Ying Tao is already cooking, better grab some." Mumbled Zhi Yuo. Her fingers are cool in picking also sort the ripe Ying tao fruit, then store it behind the palm of the hand.

"There is a Yangmei fruit, is this season all ripe?".

The sound of bushes rang out behind him. Zhi Yuo turned his head quickly, and all he found was Shu Cao. The boy stood behind the bushes with his head lowered. Shut up between them until finally Zhi Yuo asked first.

"What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to wait?".

There was no reply from Shu Cao, and it made Zhi Yuo let it go for a while. Maybe the boy wanted to help her.

"Hey, instead of staying there, it's better to help me find-"

Zhi Yuo's speech was cut short for a moment when Shu Cao approached him at high speed. The boy's hand held a large stone beyond his palm. With a blank look, he spoke coldly.

"Dead."

The stone in his hand was about to hit Zhi Yuo's head. But Zhi Yuo had such high reflexes that he could read Shu Cao's movements just now.

Hela breathed out from Zhi Yuo's mouth, "Have I told you?".

Zhi Yuo darted towards Shu Cao, quickly strangling the boy's neck until Shu Cao coughed several times.

"Don't be affected." Further.

Shu Cao's coughing voice did not subside, he hit Zhi Yuo's wrist which was still strangling him.

Zhi Yuo tilted his head, "Hm? Already conscious?".

Zhi Yuo let Shu Cao off just like that until there was quite a loud falling sound. Shu Cao grimaced, getting up while rubbing his cramped waist from being hit.

Dazedly Shu Cao asked, "Actually...what happened?".

Zhi Yuo chuckled, he quickly replied, "You are affected by the spirit of the child. Almost killed me."

Shu Cao who heard that was surprised instead of playing. He's getting creepy now.

"But... How do we know if there are people around us?".

Zhi Yuo stroked his chin, making his face seem to know nothing. A second later, he pointed upwards.

"Easy as it is, they can be seen let alone in a place like this."

Shu Cao reflexively looked up, the direction Zhi Yuo's finger pointed at. And it turned out that a lot of shadows were twinkling around them. Shu Cao's hair is standing up, it feels like he will faint instantly.

"Take this your first test, boy." Zhi Yuo smirked, and that further frightened Shu Cao.

Shady trees helped a lot that afternoon. Sunlight enters through the leaf cavities. Zhi Yuo devoured the fruits he had picked, as did Shu Cao. Although he was still shocked by what he experienced, it did not mean he did not have the energy to eat.

"What did you just mean?" Shu Cao asked. Zhi Yuo replied to him with a sigh of gloom because he did not understand.

"You're saying this is my first test, what do you mean?" Shu Cao asked again, this time more clearly.

Zhi Yuo rubbed his nose, casually he said, "Actually I want to train you. You should know what the first stage exam is. You have fighting talent."

Shu Cao furrowed his brows, "Huh?".

Zhi Yuo laughed lightly seeing the boy feeling puzzled. He got up and stood before Shu Cao.

"From now on I'm your teacher."
