Chapter 31 (Fear of Loss)

Vanessa eats slowly the fried rice dish in front of her, occasionally glancing at Nathan who is watching her, “So ..” Vanessa deliberately hangs her words.

Nathan who was confused to hear Vanessa's remark chose to ask back, “So what?”

“So you're alive?” Vanessa keeps her spoon on the plate, propping up her chin using both hands waiting for Nathan's story.

“You must live .. I want you,” said Vanessa honestly, she does not want to lie to her feelings anymore.

“But I can promise,” a smile Nathan gave when in his heart he knew most likely after this he would be gone forever.

“You don't talk like that,” said Vanessa hoarsely, she held off the clear details that wanted to come out of her eyes.

Nathan fused their eyebrows together, his heart ached seeing Vanessa's eyes almost filled with tears. Nathan felt the breath of Vanessa hitting his face, “I don't want all this to end quickly,” said Nathan Parau.

Vanessa took a deep breath taking it out slowly, “I want to stay with you,” those Crystal grains finally fell down without Vanessa being able to hold on. Followed by other details that seem to be chasing each other.

“Better we return,” Nathan tried to wipe away Vanessa's tears that continuously wet his cheeks. Nathan's heart ached to see the woman he loved cry like this.

“No, I want to be with you, I want to feel a warm hug from your body,” Vanessa shook her head, she was sure Nathan could heal.

“What is the meaning of the body that can go that, at least with my circumstances like this we can continue with the next.”

“I want you to recover Nathan,” Vanessa said.
