Chapter 59 (Mother Vanessa)

Vanessa's heart was beating faster, and her cheeks were warming up feeling Nathan's embrace. “This feeling never changes, I love you,” Nathan said right in his ear. Vanessa can only smile, her tongue is my tongue she can't make her voice because she's so happy.

Nathan received the helmet Vanessa gave him and wore it, “You can bring the motor?” nathan asked curiously.

Nathan's sitting on Vanessa's bike, actually gangster in a woman's bell but he wants to know hers' capabilities.

Vanessa started driving her bike, “Where are we going?” ask Vanessa.

“Ke Bandung city square,” Nathan replied.

“Ngapain to there not exciting in the square also.”

Vanessa drove her bike to kosambi road, it was quite hot in the afternoon and there was little congestion after passing the train tracks. It went well until Vanessa parked her bike.

Nathan noticed the vast artificial turf and there were many people sitting there as well as children playing. There is a mosque building that looks spacious, and many also sit on the front porch of the mosque.

Vanessa pulls Nathan's hand that is watching the situation around, “Sini yuk,” invite Vanessa.

Nathan followed in the footsteps of vanessa who was walking on the sidewalk, and invited her to sit on the chair provided. Seeing Vanessa look in motion makes Nathan feel guilty for letting his woman ride a motorcycle.

When passing by the drink seller Vanessa called him, “The drink was two,” Vanessa said.

“Nih drink,” said Vanessa gave her drink to Nathan.

Nathan accepted it and immediately drank it, his throat was thirsty even though it did not immediately subside because the drink Vanessa bought from the peddler was not cold.

Nathan notices Vanessa standing still against the passing vehicle in front of him, “Nes,” call Nathan.

“Hmmm,” Vanessa just replied with deheman without glancing at Nathan.

“I can ask.”

“Ask what?” vanessa asked, looking at Nathan.

“I don't see your mother, where?” ask Nathan. Seeing Vanessa's sad face makes Nathan feel guilty for asking about his mother.

Questions that Vanessa never heard from anyone about her mother is now the man in front of her asking about the whereabouts of her mother, Vanessa tried to smile, “I-mother.” Vanessa sighed as something hit her chest, her defense collapsing Vanessa's tears just dripped. No one had ever asked her about her mother.

Nathan wipes away Vanessa's tears, drawing Vanessa's hand to follow him to his motorcycle parking lot. “Lock,” says Nathan.

Vanessa reached into his pocket and gave it to Nathan without a fuss. As Nathan props up his bike Vanessa's cries break.

Hearing the female jab behind him makes Nathan pull Vanessa's hand to hug him. “I shouldn't have asked if it just made you cry, I'm sorry,” Nathan said as he stroked Vanessa's hand coiled around her stomach.

Vanessa cried for a long time, until Vanessa kept her chin on Nathan's shoulder. 

Flashbacks

Eight years ago, a woman wearing a blue white uniform entered her home with sweat drenched in her body. Hearing the quarrel in her parents' room, the girl walked to the second floor looking for her sister, her sister curled up on the bed. Hearing the door open his sister immediately scattered his brother's hug. A woman with a name tag named Vanessa hugs her sister who is still wearing a red white uniform.

“Papa and mom why?” ask Vanessa.

Her sister can only cry silently while shaking her head, “Ade don't know tea,” she replied softly.

Vanessa hears her Papa screaming, “You're my wife, you should have listened to me instead of them.”

Tears continued to fall without being able to hold, hugs on his sister getting tighter as he heard footsteps approaching them.

Vanessa could see the tears that kept flooding her mother's face. She could only freeze as her mother hugged the two of them.

“Mother go first, send Riko yes tea,” said her mother on the sidelines.

Vanessa just kept quiet without answering, looking at her sister's face that closed her eyes. Vanessa knew her sister was terrified, while her mother alternately kissed her and her sister's heads and left the room.

Flashback off

“I don't know what reason you left, but after that incident you never came back. Papa never discussed the departure of the mother, me and Riko also never asked, after the departure of the mother Papa looks very chaotic and a lot of thoughts. Several times I had to calm down the crying Riko wanting to meet mom, but I always tried to persuade her with toys or food to stop Riko from crying.”

Nathan heard a sigh from Vanessa, “Everything was so perfect, a lot of happiness happened in our family, but everything changed after the papa company went bankrupt. We had to move to a small house and I often heard papa quarreling with mom.”

Right after ending the story the street light turned red, Nathan stopped his bike and glanced at Vanessa whose nose was flushed red, “You're ugly if you're so cry,” Nathan taunted.

Vanessa hit Nathan's back softly as a form of annoyance.

“Aw hurts,” complains Nathan while rubbing his back pretending to relieve the pain, whereas Vanessa's punch feels nothing at all.

“You're better, mushy be a guy,” ketus Vanessa.

“If we get married you want your mother in our wedding?” tany Nathan is on his bike because the street lights have changed color.

“Absolutely who wants to marry you?” vanessa asked, hugging Nathan.
