The picket police still look fresh when Al meets him. He served with kindness.
"The BAP process is being implemented tomorrow because we need to collect evidence and witness testimony" police said.
"Investigating the physical evidence and witnesses would have taken days" Al said.
"It's our job."
"This is the lawyer's business card that will accompany the suspect."
The police took out a business card that was placed on the table, read at a glance, and then placed in a drawer.
"Oh yeah, on the way I saw there was a trailer splashed into the ravine, like deliberately about to ram my car."
"You're passing the hill?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"The area is prone to crime."
"I like the prone area."
The police stared in search. "You seem to have a big guts."
Al smiled a little. "Don't be a student if you have little guts."
"Is that so?"
"I suspect the three people who died were a herd of robbers. So I lured his friend out, but instead saw the tragic accident."
"Are you ready for a suspect?"
"I'm Al Farisi Haikal Najid, his best friend's suspect."
"Haikal Najid's son?"
"Rubber."
"Yes, yes, I know him. You must be his eldest son who studied at Bulaksumur."
Al smile. "If the police need help, I'm ready 24 hours."
"Do you have a name for this case?"
"Ben Muzakir's. The investigation team can ask for information from him."
"Yes, yeah. The results of the initial investigation have already revealed several names."
"Ben Muzakir almost took hundreds of lives."
"He will be called to his provocative actions."
"Thank you."
"My surprise is, how did you get permission to get out of the boarding school?"
"I went down a road that didn't need permission."
"High School Time Habit huh? Jump fence?"
Al smiled diplomatically. "Can I see Ridwan Sayidi?"
"Oh, of course. For a trailer accident, you know exactly where it is?"
"The sharpest bend at the top of the hill."
"Thank you for the information."
The picket police called his friend to escort them to temporary detention, then contacted the patrol police to get to the crash site immediately.
Al knew this report would make matters longer. He believes the driver of the trailer was a friend of the murdered robber. Their plot must be targeting his life for revenge.
For the sake of justice, Al dared to take risks. He is not afraid of the threat of criminals. The law protects.
"Ridwan is innocent" Al told police. "Three of the dead were robbed by homemade nail bombs."
"You can't accuse without proof."
"I was on the scene the night of the incident."
"This confession could get you dragged to the green table."
"So I have to let two good women who might give birth to a would-be police chief get killed?"
"I get. Anything else to say?"
"I'm sure the trailer driver is the accomplice. He was about to push my car into the ravine."
"You need to investigate the restaurant security at the foot of the hill. I think it has something to do with the trailer driver. He's been an informant about my car's whereabouts."
"Yes, yeah."
"If I have to take responsibility, twenty-two more days I will come here."
"Why twenty-two days?"
"I'm going to the Holy Land."
"Therefore you make a confession? Afraid of retribution in the Holy Land?"
"I'm afraid to leave a debt to a suspect in case anything happens to me."
Al knew the police would not stage the case. There must be a big mess if he gets to BAP. Citizen sentiment towards criminals is so high, that many vigilantes are on their own.
The war between villages must have broken out. They do not accept that the three people killed are called robbers. The impact is too terrible.
The police, perhaps, would rather sacrifice Ridwan as a suspect. At the end of the day he will be free because there is not enough evidence.
Ridwan was sitting in a daze on the floor when they arrived at his cell. The police drove him away again.
"Assalamu'alaikum" said Al.
"Wa'alaikumussalam." Ridwan was stunned for a moment, then got up to him. "You're the same Nidar, you have to go to the airport in the morning?"
"I want to make sure you're okay."
"Thank God, I'm fine."
"I've hired a lawyer to accompany you, and as long as I'm gone, Yudi will take care of all your needs."
"I don't think it's necessary. I just need your trust."
Al's trust is very important to Ridwan. Make it easy for friends and ultimately the community to accept.
"Your front flight departs Umrah."
"I don't have any money."
"Form trust from me. Prepare yourself."
"Subhanallah," exclaimed Ridwan happily. "Your kindness makes me sincerely stay in a lifetime, all religious warriors."
"If you stay in a cell for life, when will you leave?"
Ridwan laughed a little. Al's face suddenly turned serious, staring at the man behind the bars straight.
"I have a will to Yudi, if anything happens to me, same Oma, I give my property to eat and drink tahlil people. So don't ban tahlilan at Oma's house."
"I'm inside."
"I know you're close to Oma. Then that's Oma kasih umrah for free."
"I love Oma because she is your grandmother. I have no one."
"Don't mellow."
"In plenty of time to pray for your safety."
"Aamiin's."
"Pray me in the Holy Land?"
"God willing."
Al's heart felt hollow as he left the police station. He stayed behind to be allowed to visit the Two Holy Cities.
Oma has prepared everything if in the holy journey something unwanted happens. All his property was given to Al. Then he gave some for the benefit of the people if anything happened to him, some made heirs according to religious law. This right of inheritance is just him and a lawyer who knows, to keep Oma's feelings in check.
Oma was not willing to let the other family members enjoy the treasures. They are thought to have been in cahoots with Opa. In the will even affirmed, the house is devoted to the pesantren if Al is not willing to occupy. Similarly, shop in Jakarta if he does not want to take care of it.
It seems Oma is heartbroken over Jennifer's presence so that her property is not shared. And the heartache will be questioned later to the real Judge.
There is something Oma does not understand from the explanation. God alone does not forgive man who dares to Him, why can man be a scorn for man?
A wrong thought according to Al. The Creator and the created are different in every nature and cannot be compared. Prophet Muhammad is the concluding of the prophets who must give an example of the smallest to the greatest for the guidance of the people until the end of time, including the case of honey.
But it is not good to say that Oma did not believe in the Prophet. He basically respects the sun. He only hated the husband who practiced the sunah while many other sunahs had not been implemented.
It is not good to say that Jennifer is a woman who destroys people's happiness. The rules are in place and it is permissible to be a second wife.
All that is hard to accept, no matter how high the faith of a woman. Thus he kept more silent whenever Oma spoke of the wives of the Prophet, of his jealousy. Any explanation would not quench his thirst.
Al wanted to clear his heart and mind in order to be blessed on his departure to the Holy Land.
