Chapter 23. Ethyl Chloride

Raiden's face looked dark. Inside the car the aura was freezing. Raiden clutches Zafia's body tightly. His heart was still filled with intense anger. Zafia is unconscious again. I don't know what drugs Steven has given Zafia until the girl's condition is very weak.

"Faster, Julian. I'm afraid something bad happened to him."

Julian stepped on the accelerator deeper and the car was speeding faster. Within 15 minutes, the car stopped in the hospital. Julian goes down first to ask the medics for help to bring a bed for Zafia.

Zafia was immediately taken into the IGD room and dealt with immediately. Raiden closed his eyes. He had already informed Zafa, Zafia's eldest brother, but Raiden forbade Zafa from contacting his family in Indonesia. Because somehow Raiden feels this is his fault and he is worried that this problem will affect the decision of Zafia parents.

Zafa understands Raiden's concerns. However, unbeknownst to Raiden, Zafa contacts his father and informs him of this.

Shortly the doctor came out of the action room. A male doctor came to Raiden and smiled.

"You're a family member of the patient inside?"

"Yes, Doctor."

"The patient is now conscious, but I give him sleeping pills so he can rest. I suspect the patient was previously given chlorophyll anesthetic. This drug has a composition of ethyl chloride which is a spray anesthetic for the outer skin areas such as injuries to ball players, sprains, etc. This drug is not intended to be inhaled or enter the mucosa such as the lips, mouth, eyes and nose because it can cause loss of consciousness. I've given him antidotes and help with the drug poisoning."

"But, is he going to be okay?"

"Yes, it's lucky the dose he got didn't exceed the threshold."

"Thank you, Doctor."

"Either. It is my job to help. The patient will soon be transferred to the treatment room. You can follow Sister Elisha."

"Ok, thank you very much, Doctor."

Not long after, Zafia bed pushed by two nurses. One of them was Sister Elisha. Raiden followed the two sisters. They're heading for the VIP room. After making sure everything was properly installed, Sister Elisha and her companion bailed. Raiden only replied with a nod of his head.

After closing the door of the room, Raiden turned around and looked at Zafia wistfully. Again he had to watch the girl of his heart lying helpless and all because of her who was not careful to look after him.

"I'm sorry, Fia. I failed to take care of you." The corner of Raiden's eyes got wet. The man was crying for the first time. He was really angry considering the helplessness of Zafia earlier. If he was late, maybe his story would be different and he couldn't imagine it happening.

Raiden eventually falls asleep next to Zafia. He would not be calm leaving the girl in this weak state.

Zafia woke up, she felt a tightness in her chest. The girl turned her head and found Raiden asleep beside her and hugging her body possessively.

"I'm sorry, I made you anxious again."

"I'm not just worried. I felt like I wanted to take that man's life right then and there."

"Steven told me about you killing Morgan. Who's Morgan?"

"You don't have to think about what that crazy guy said. Now go back to sleep, it's too late."

"But I'm hungry, Ray," whined Zafia.

"Ah, you haven't eaten yet, well I'll find you something to eat."

"I'm sure you haven't eaten either because of me, Ray," Zafia said, caressing Raiden's face. Raiden closed his eyes as Zafia's hand went down his sturdy jaw.

Raiden catches Zafia's hand before the girl further provokes her passion.

"Stop, don't go on anymore, yeah."

Zafia smiled gently and nodded. He then kissed Raiden on the cheek. Raiden's eyes instantly widened in shock.

"Oh God."

"
